Looks like the Bombers are going to get their sellout. About 30 tickets left to purchase on ticketmaster. Should be a nice day for football, about 13 at kickoff but a bit windy. I'm just happy because mercifully my kid's soccer tournament didn't schedule her a game on Saturday. FWIW I think you need to go out there and play a full game. I get wanting to keep people healthy or playing for a matchup, but the reality is they haven't played really well in a month... and then even before that back in August. They are on a stretch of 4-4... that first win was against an injured Als team and then you have the 3 pass win against Ottawa, you smoke the Ti-Cats and then barely limp to a win against the B-Squad Riders. They need string 3 good games in a row which they haven't done since the start of the season... might as well make it 4 and start it on Saturday.

That's a bit of a stretch. Hamilton at no point says they are interested in him - only that he (Hamilton) would want him, if he was running the show out there. His exact words:

So a couple feel good points but nothing substantial - got it. For you in BC, getting to Montreal or Hamilton might be more of an issue but not for people in Winnipeg. Besides, a handful of Bomber fans in attendance does what for the club? I can't see a huge turnout in any city with the way this team has played this season. Regina might be the only exception to that due to location though. MOS will tell you (as any HC would) that the team will always be playing to win, regardless of who is on the field so I don't think they earn any extra respect there. I'd respect him more for giving back-ups some playing time rather than risking injury to key players in a fairly meaningless game. For me, the upside to 4th is being as healthy as possible and facing either a QB getting his first taste of playoff action or a team we just thrashed a few weeks earlier. We may also get a slightly higher draft pick if nothing else (barring a miracle GC run).

I think we can have both feelings not either/or, ie not be satisfied with losing at the show and what needs to happen to turn that frown upside down and also being proud that our team consistently makes the show. Oh and have I mentioned that the Riders suck?

We tried IHop / Applebees for lunch today. The renovation really has brighten up the restaurant. It looks much better and far less 1990's then the previous decor. The place was jam packed full of seniors , nearly every table was taken. The prices seem to have also increased sharply. The Applebees special where you get 2 meals and 1 appetizer was really expensive. The menu shows 2 for 50.... but 9 out of the 12 meals that you can select have a 3 - 5 dollar upcharge for them. So what my wife and I would normally get (2 fiesta lime chicken + mozza sticks) was 2 for $58 dollars. If you were to order them individually off the menu it all comes to $59. So this "special" is only one dollar off which is really dumb. In the States even after the recent inflation this same combo is 2 for $35 after currency conversion. I'm not sure why it's so expensive up here. My wife ordered the $18 ultimate breakfast , it tasted good but the portions are quite small. It was enough for her, but I'd imagine none of my guy friends or myself would be satisfied with the size. The wrap I ordered was half the size of what it was pre make over and for 22 dollars it was over priced. I'm not a breakfast person , my wife is and said that Stella's and Ben and Fiorentines are much better. I wouldn't go back.

but he was a basic unknown...bit of a outlier choice as he really had minimal experience too....As long as you do the homework and don't hire an absolute fool you will be just fine. Osh had really just name recognition in regards to people knew who he was....nothing else really in regards to coaching acumen...A ST coordinator as his only pro coaching job. I wouldn't be concerned if we still have Miller an Walter's at the helm....They not gonna gut the whole upper echelon here....90% of time in sports you start at HC...Unless Walter's has let it be known he is not looking to continue on....and even then very very rare you saddle a new G.M with a HC from a previous faltering regime....so if that's the case then Miller may be filling 2 spots or he has evolved as much as he can, and his way, methodologies and ability to adap and how to structure a lineup t is being left in the dust now....cause a lot of the r3cent failing is based on how we and where we allocate players on roster be it with ratio...vet use....whatever....but it has yr after yr since cup win 2 slowly degraded to one of the weaker across the board units and you are right...h's got complacent and believes he is smartest guy in room again and no need to change...is it stubborn stupidity....laziness....a combo f both....but needs to be rectified either by a change up...or him actually going in a bit of a new direction

Osh's problem right now is that he has seemingly lost the fire he had early on. Fat and sassy, content with the success. If he can get that fire back he is as good as anyone.

I'm rolling with Elgersma over Dru at this point. Dru has shown two things in Ott. He can't stay healthy (some on bad hits, some on no hits) and he throws untimely interceptions. I know...neither were a problem when he was here and conveniently had the best Oline and stellar receiver running backs etc. I'm betting potential with Elgersma.

Zach is hurt with 10 minutes to go. We up by 13 tho. Strev comes in. Hands it off and runs and we win but he also gets hurt. Wilson starts the grey cup vs BC. Gets hurt. Artopoeous comes in early and goes 20 Of 22 for 300 yards and 4 TDs as we defeat Nathan Rourke and the lions. But Artopoeous is hurt with 3 minutes to go. No other qb roster, Jake Thomas comes in.. goes 4 for 4 for 58 yards and Castillo kicks the winner with zeros on the clock. Bombers 31 lions 28.

I think Montreal will roster their starters but if the TiCats win on Friday (against Ottawa) then Hamilton clinches first place. If thats the case then I could see the Als backups getting more reps.

According to Jeff Hamiltion in today's Free Press, Ottawa is interested in O'Shea if his time here ends. Would solve two teams' needs at the same time.
