Walters should have had the confidence to make this decision at the end of last season imo, Being forthright with vet players who are not in the plans early on is only fair and it gives them a better chance of finding a spot on another team. Maybe the decision wasn't made until after they saw him and some of his potential replacements at the mini-camp. Sort of dumb to cut someone when you don't have a replacement yet.
