This team is not out yet ...

After this weekend's games (all losses by the three teams vying for the final playoff positions), the Bombers are exactly where we were the prior week, needing a win at home against a very good team and hoping both BC and Montreal lose. BC hosts the Riders so I'm not hoping much but Montreal has Ottawa at home, which is tough. Maybe I'm delusional in this thinking, especially the Bombers beating Edmonton at home, but it's all I've got now ;) ... GO BOMBERS!

Edmonton is struggling offensively - well Reilly is. Not surprising since he missed most of the season being hurt in the first half of the first game. We'll have to see if the Bombers are the ticket to get Reilly going (trust me that's the sentiment I'm getting here in Edmonton as it's expected Reilly will have a big game) or is it an opportunity for Winnipeg to beat a top Western team?

Montreal is struggling - Crompton is proving Mr. Perfect 100% right that he's not a very good QB (just a very lucky one) and Cato is messed up a bit emotionally right now so not sure how effective he can be. But Winnipeg needs to win at least two more games this year to have a shot - and no time like the present to get it started. At worst I'm expecting another good game with the Bombers in it till the end. I do think though that if anyone knows how to beat a Chris Jones Defense it's a QB who's been practicing against it over the last two years. NIchols is our Ace in the Hole and if he has a big game we can win this one easily.

Problem is... Chris Greaves knows well the Bombers protection schemes.

For all of the optimists out there recall if you will how poorly the Bombers played against the Esks. in their first contest in July.  They lost 32-3 and that was with Willy at the helm for most of the game and Nichols starting and Franklin finishing for the Esks.  The Esks, D is probably better then it was and now they have Reilly back.  Not hopeful.

Hmmm. You are assuming that the Keystone Kops fire drill the O-line has been performing can actually be classified as a protection scheme. No problem there.

All I am vying for now is my Joseph Abboud suit!

I'm in 50th place overall! I have a real chance to win a free flight to Winnipeg for the Grey Cup.

Yeah I saw that - good luck man! I am rooting for you! I am loading up on Eskimos this week because they are playing a really crappy team. Oh wait...

The Bombers resemble that remark!

Quite a few facts left out there. Willy went down early in the 3rd quarter. And the score? 4-3 Edmonton. Then Brohm came in and game went out. 1st play after Brohm didn't move the ball....Lirim punts for 47 yards and Lawrence returns it for 53 yards to the Bomber 3... TD Edm. - Next Bomber possession, Brohm intercepted....Edmonton TD...and the rout is on.

Reilly may play better this week, but he sure hasn't looked impressive lately.

True that - but only here in Commonwealth do the Bombers absolutely suck butt. I did see them play two great games here - two - the loss to Dan Crowley which was also Khari Jones' coming out party (51 to 49 or something like that was the final score) and the infamous Milt Stegall TD (and that wasn't a great game, just a great ending).

Other than those two games, it's like, I dunno - I'd get it if Edmonton were Montreal with tons of distractions downtown but it's definitely not.

However, at home, the bombers play more consistent against the Eskimos. Still struggle at times but usually they give them a game (and even win a few).

I'm hopeful that we can pull of a win. Not the end of the world for me if the Eskimos win the game though as they are my second fav, but they're still 2nd in my books AND they have 2nd pretty much locked up in the West. So I'm going to be optimistic on this game. What happens if we lose though? Do we pack it in and start airlifting in players to see who we can bring in next year full time? Or too early yet?
