The dates are on the video, for every single clip. Although it doesn't really matter which surge. The vaccine never stopped transmission. Recently they admitted that they never even tested it for transmission. Didn't stop them from making all those proclamations. What you are missing here is the cherry picked quotes and data by bad actors in bad faith have mostly been coming from the supposed experts. That's too bad. I didn't follow that account, I found it by searching for it. Seems the account doesn't exist now. It worked for me yesterday. The first video I posted, my entire post disappeared. Your second paragraph is truly the height of irony given what's gone on in the past year or two. Here's the same video again. Try not to get too hung up on the accounts who post these. If you won't even take seriously the words coming right out of the mouths of the experts you claim to follow, just because the video is posted by someone you disagree with politically, you are very closed-minded.

Deleting that obvious and blatant video proof off a Blue Bomber message board doesn't make these obvious truths go away. That's how they're supposed to work. These ones didn't. Even if they did on some level, everyone got covid last winter anyways. I doubt it was the 15% unvaccinated spreading it everywhere when we weren't allowed to go anywhere. Well i'll agree to disagree with you on that one. The provincial governments in manitoba and ontario especially were doing a great job of slow-walking any restriction easing right from the beginning of covid. As someone who was banned from all sorts of places last winter I was paying pretty close attention to what the government was saying, and they did not sound like they were eager at all to drop the vaccine passports.

Holy crap, no that is not what we were told. Watch that clip, it's clear what they were saying. And what if it's not 99%, and probably isn't "every single time". Our medical experts have a great history of getting things wrong sometimes too. Just look back at the ridiculous in hindsight fear mongering from Fauci on AIDS back in the day. These people aren't gods. Besides, we don't even need to argue about what the experts say. The vaccines have been out for a long time, and they've failed for the most part.

I would add that the mandates and lockdowns were far more costly to the livelihoods of Canadians. I don't think I've ever seen the government claiming they had to shut down the protest because it was pointless. And even if I agreed (I don't), I don't think that meets the justification for enacting the EA. I will say this on the convoy - it gave a voice and hope to a lot of people who did not feel like they were being heard at all. Not by any of the provincial governments, certainly not the liberal govt, not the media, and not even the federal conservatives. It led directly to a bunch of provincial mandates and vaccine passports being dropped, whether you want to believe it or not. And if nothing else, at least it led to removal of O'Toole as leader of the opposition so now we have at least some semblance of support for the rights of the unvaccinated in Ottawa.

It's not cherry picked data - it's a reminder that all those experts assured us that the vaccine would stop transmission. And it did not. And later it turned out the CDC didn't even do any research at the time on if that was true. And had no evidence that it would. And just for the record, Roussin and Joss Reimer here in Manitoba were claiming the vaccines stopped the spread for a while even after other countries were admitting that it didn't.

From what I understand the coutts firearms seizures ended up having nothing to do with the blockade. It was some other people in the neighbouring town or something. I'd like to read some evidence of all these racist, misogynist, threatening statements. Is it worse than being told you should die or have your children taken away? A lot of horrible things have been said in the past year or two. Someone on here keeps calling me braindead, a covidiot, and to **** off. Ha. That would be an issue for the Americans to protest over. I'm sure they'd get a lot of support from a lot of Canadians. But with the Canadian restrictions dropped, there's nothing to gain for any Americans now. It's only non-citizens who need to be vaccinated to drive across. I don't think anyone expected the US to hold on to their border restrictions this long. At least on that we can probably all agree.

As far as I know there were no mandates scheduled to expire at that time. Do you mean the provincial stuff? There were some vague comments that the mandates weren't permanent, but there was no real indication that they were going to let up any time soon. And the federal mandates that kicked the whole thing off didn't get lifted until a month or two ago I think?

Thanks for the answer. I'm glad to hear it helped. The numbers I've seen don't bear that out that it did a "lot" of good, but I'm happy to be wrong in at least your case. In my circles I didn't notice any difference. I know very few people, vaccinated or not, that got very very sick from covid. This winter, and even later last winter, I'd say the people I know are vaccinated tend to be getting sicker than the unvaccinated. But the unvaccinated I know tend to be younger anyways. Which I'm pretty sure has a far bigger effect on things than the vaccines ever did.

Not sure what you mean by first hand experience. I would disagree on "vast" as well. Any benefit of the vaccines didn't last very long (hence all the boosters). And it's been well established that it did nothing to actually stop transmission. Making the mandates completely pointless (and I would argue, immoral). And if I knew this already last winter, I guarantee you the federal and provincial governments knew.

I think some of you are a bit naive about how few Canadians would be on CFL teams if there were no ratio. Without the ratio Andrew Harris almost certainly never would have gotten a sniff. Probably the same for Demski, and pretty much any non-NCAA player. The biggest Canadian stars of the last 20 years would probably have been Jesse Lumsden and some offensive linemen.

The housing thing seems ridiculous to me. They get plenty of free agents in Toronto, since that's the only Canadian city a lot of these Americans have ever heard of. Not to mention the CFL phenomenon of players wanting to sign with their hometown teams. That would be an advantage for Toronto and Montreal I'd guess. I mean, the reasons that housing is so much more in Toronto and BC are the same reasons they can attract free agents. But it is the CFL, so they'll probably just randomly gift the Argos a couple free draft picks 3 days before the draft again just because.

I'm pretty surprised at all the CFL players and media guys from other cities taking shots at Harris. Surprised mostly at the players... you don't see a lot of that in other sports. Can you imagine Crosby tweeting out shots at Kuznetsov, laughing at him? To me, things like that make the CFL look more minor league than anything. I mean, Jordan Reaves, really.... Has anyone commented on how hilarious it is that the Packers pulled ALL their starters because of that tiny bump a couple yards from the back of the end zone - If you think about it with common sense for a moment, there is a like a 0% change that virtually any player who is not a receiver or DB is going to find themself on that piece of the field in a game. And they just scrapped kickoffs completely! Any kick that goes that far into the end zone is going to be a touchback anyways. And if the returner wants to run it out, he's not going to be cutting and dodging tacklers 8 yards deep in the end zone. So the only redeeming thing about the whole pointless game - that Packer fans get to see Aaron Rodgers and whoever else they have who is good - was scrapped because NFL coaches are paranoid, insane, control freaks. As bad as the whole production is, I don't think we should let the NFL team management off the hook either.
