It's definitely possible. I just don't think that's the way it's ultimately going to play out.

Totally agree with this... I think we start the season:

Jefferson-Fox-Woods-Haba, with Thomas, Schmekel, and Garbutt/Rivers forming a 7 man rotation.

I think it will be something along those lines as well, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Garbutt beats out Haba

I'm not sure if it matters who "starts"... but a DE rotation of Willie, Garbutt, and Haba is likely the best case scenario for our DL

I think you'd have to be watching very closely to figure out who has the inside track to take that last receiver position. They are pretty much trying everyone. The other day it was Ronnie Blackmon

My big question is how is Wayne McGarrity looking and will he take hold of that spot on the offense

Bigger question. Especially for you. Whatever happened to that number 85 at rookie camp.

I think Garbutt is a more complete player than Haba so I'm hoping that he starts opposite WJ.

Scott Cloman is my sleeper

Roster management! That guy could’ve been a legend up here!1122

I am of the thinking that if we go with a 7 man rotation I don't really care who they pick out of Haba/Garbutt/Rivers. Mostly because I have no idea who is looking the best at camp right now.

I think Habba and garbutts time up here will be tough to beat.

yep. If there is even a favorite at this point.  Definitely no dalton Schoen head and shoulders above the rest. But might all be a muddled top end. They might pick some one based on all kinds of factors.
If I could give one of those guys one word of advice it’d be, block. If a guy blocks his ass off his chances will sky rocket.

Like I said since last yr...Save for WJ that I always thought Garbutt brought the best overall skill set at end....man I just hate that Jackson waste all yr as he would have been so much further along if he had 12..16 games already under his belt...Haba too

I'd be happy with a 2 American DT+WJ+Habba+Garbutt+Thomas+Schmekel DL rotation to start the year.

I agree with this completely, I also feel like Haba is the type of player who is better off being used more sparingly. Guy could feast off coming in to rotate on a tired OL. Not so sure you’d want that type of raw player in as much against the run (yet, he’s still young as hell)

Haba I definitely view as more of a situational pass rusher and agree that he's not someone I want getting a huge compliment of reps.  He's also a prime example of a guy who could / should be pushed and challenged to make the roster.  He's not someone who should be handed anything simply because he was with the team last year.

I think part of the reason he wasn't used as much last year was for the reasons you have outlined. However, I would expect his run stop would be improved as a 2nd year guy. Rookies are raw, but having a full offseason and camp under his belt I would hope that has improved. That being said I like Garbutt's potential to go inside and out in our lineup. I would love to see both guys get meaningful reps this year.

I thought Haba played well last season. Hope he gets plenty of reps this year.

That's a real hitch, right there......

7 or 8 guys rotating through the DL. That's what worked in 2019 and 2021. Lack of that hurt the past 2 seasons. Just wear down the opposing team.

We lost at least 3 games last year, when the DL wore down late, because of roster issues........it drove me nuts.

and the guy who can collapse the centre.

Our Defense worked like our O did at it's best. It started and ended with us winning the battle in the trench and punishing the other team. Leaving them broken and beaten by the start of the 4th. We gave up on that with the DL for some reason. We gotta get back to it, and I think we have all the versatility and roster flexibility plus the guys to do it.
