Don't want to be *that* guy.... but he wasn't really that successful in his career.  Losing record and very average stats.    The guy had a lot of heart and his injury history definitely derailed his career.   I wouldn't say the guy was *successful* though.   

But this doesn't matter because lots of coaches were crap players and still had great coaching careers.

Injuries were his problem - his 'average' stats were because he only played half seasons...

Buck the QB was a warrior, not the smartest guy on the field. He took the hits to make the plays which cost him a lot of playing time. Streveler might be able to play like that, but Collaros/Nichols wouldn't last 3 weeks.

Donahue graduated from West in 2011 and played collegiately at Division II West Georgia and was selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Jets and appeared in four games.

CJOB says they can confirm Buck as OC and the entire 2020 staff will be named sometime this week...

I would think the only new addition/name would be a positional coach of some type....and it will be a name new to the CFL coaching scene, but with CFL playing experience

How was he not? Played in more than one championship, won one... yeah he's not an all timer or anything but the dude was a successful qb. Just short lived because of the injuries.

Nic Demski has restructured his contract, but nothing really tangibly changes — “just a tune-up” I was told. He’s still under contract through 2020.

Well when a guy wins a championship.... how do you turn away?

plus the fact there is a 25% chance Matt's surgery has as a failure rate and he won't even be ready for TC is a huge factor involved...

Arbuckle not being signed yet gives me a glimmer of hope.

not a ton of holes on D right now... or offence if Collaros signs

I think the only glimmer of hope if you wanted Arbuckle with us would be if Toronto signs away Zach..... otherwise ....

We don't want Arbuckle... Let Ottawa take that risk. 

 

 

With Zack's history of concussions we'll need a viable backup in case we lose him for a long period of time. 

Arbuckle would be my first choice but that dream seems dead. Can't imagine Ottawa lets him even get to free agency. 

Collaros is a good fit for the offense though. Can't fault them for thinking we want to see more of that.

Sorry to say, but it's you wrong here. I wouldn't call Buck all that successful either. He had shown moments of promise but the injuries ultimately defined his career.

 

I loved him as a quarterback but even. in 2011 he was no superstar 

McGuire showed enough in pre season for me to have some faith in the guy.   Forget not Bennett also showed well and played ST and yet McGuire was kept over him.
