Bomber News: 2019 Off Season

For minor off-season Bomber news.  Any significant stories or news that are likely to generate significant discussion may have their own thread created.

Going to try going with the two threads again for the off season.    One for Bomber news, one for CFL news.   These threads should be used for general / minor day to day news, tweets, etc.  A catch all for tidbits that people want to share to keep everyone up to date on the goings and comings of the league.

Any news, tweets, and signings that is likely to generate significant discussion may have their own threads created.

I like Thomas, but maybe 50% of snaps should be what we strive for here....

Yup, the comment about not having any issues with him starting...is...concerning. I feel like it's a bit of saying whatever he wants situation, and I hope they aren't actually relying on him to fill that large if a role.

I think that’s about where he’ll end up.  We’ll need another NI who can take some reps and there will be Nevis at nose and 3 import DE’s, one of whom will likely take the 3 technique spot on passing downs like last season.

They also have Maxx Forde.

Mike O’Shea, just on 1290, sounds emphatic that the CFL season will start on time. He has no doubt..

He sounds like a cartoon superhero.

We signed the following per CFL.ca transaction page.

2019-04-30    WPG    ANDERSON, Kevin    QB    I    Fordham    Add To    Active Roster
2019-04-30    WPG    RIOS, Marcus    DB    I    UCLA    Add To    Active Roster
2019-04-30    WPG    TEMPLE, Nick    LB    I    Cincinnati    Add To    Active Roster

With the recent additions (3), it looks like Firlotte does count as a non-counter.

So the current count is 75 and 3 non-counters

That's interesting. Temple was here in 2016/17.  I guess he played a bit in the AAF for Mike Riley and now he is back here.

Brought back Nick Temple he was in AAF with either SAN Antonio or Memphis

Thought the name sounded familiar.

He was here 2016. He’s just 26 years old.

Yeah, I remember the  name, as well....interesting. They must really like the guy...

For me, I would rather have Khalil Bass, he did a good job playing @ WIL for us.

And a bad job with his next two teams.

and is rumoured not a good team guy, and was disliked by a lot of teamates...take it for whats it's worth

Bass was not good enough to deserve this kind of reverence years after his departure...

No reverence at all.

He was solid. I'd rather see what else is out there.

Surprised jsk left... halls D with this lineup will mean easy stats for a rookie WIL

Reminds me of Greg Carr leaving for Edm over $5k......woulda been better off just sticking around.

I noticed while i was on bluebombers.com that Drake Nevis was no longer listed on the roster.  I hope this is some sort of clerical error.

Decent stab at depth chart, but I don't see 3 national receivers to start..especially since we don't need to as you have 8...I would for moment switch simonese with Washington.
