WEST DIVISION SEMI-FINAL | WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS (10-8) at SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS (12-6)

THE 4-1-1

Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. Sunday; Mosaic Stadium, Regina
TV: TSN1, TSN4, RDS, ESPN2
Radio: CJOB
The forecast: A mix of sun and cloud. High -10C.
Vegas line: The Riders are favoured by 2.5 points.
Streaks: Winnipeg: 1L; Saskatchewan: 2W.
Home/Road: The Bombers are 4-5 on the road this year; the Riders are 6-3 at home.
Head to head, 2018: The Riders captured two of the three meetings this year, winning 31-23 in the Labour Day Classic in Regina and 32-27 a week later in Winnipeg in the Banjo Bowl. The Bombers countered with a 31-0 shutout on October 13th at Investors Group Field.
Playoff history: These two clubs last met in the playoffs in the 2007 Grey Cup, a game won 23-19 by the Riders. The Bombers last played in Regina in the playoffs on November 8, 1975, a 42-24 Saskatchewan victory in the West Semi-Final. Add it all up and the Bombers have lost seven straight playoff games to their arch-rivals dating back to a win here in Winnipeg in the 1965 West Semi-Final. The Riders hold an 11-9-1 advantage in the 20 playoff meetings between the two teams.

I believe we have the first regular season win and the first playoff win in their new stadium.

  • It's similar in some respects to IGF but very different in many ways. My (scattered) observations: I was on the East Side, wayyy up, third from last row. @trueBlue83 sat behind me. We seemed

Based on my research there would still have been less than a 3% chance of success on a hail mary when scrimmaging from the bombers 49 yard line.

which is the same chance of a Rider fan not marrying their first cousin.

i enjoyed watching the blocking on the run just before the Harris TD...3 guys are just manhandles and pushed down field..Watch Neufeld get to Judge..and just walk him down the field about 10 to 12 yards...push him out of bounds and down to the turf..you can hear him yelling at him calling him an "effing *****"....sooo funny...I love our oline

was that Neufeld yelling?  You can hear it pretty clearly on the mic but I thought it was Hardrick.

Ian Wild did not look all that good when he was in. He and Sayles were targeted and victimized. Here's hoping that Santos-Knox will be back for next Sunday.

And Bighill can play.

Not too worried about Sayles.  He matches up against the opposing teams best receiver and held his own.  As a unit they gave up 100 passing yards.

pretty sure it was Neuf...none the less..funny as hell

Patty Neufeld had a bee in his bonnet all game long, it was a beautiful thing to see. He was planting guys on their asses all day.

yeah he had a strong game...some of the big runs were direct result of what he did...I bet any team in league would love to have him at guard..and didnt realize how big he actually was..

Walby has always been a big fan of Patty. Plus I think he wants to stick it to the Riders every time he plays them. I heard he was pretty devastated being traded away in 2013.

I've never had an issue with him...if you were to look back on all the threads dumping on him I was one of the few supporters..he just ain't no every down tackle...he's a top notch guard tho..

Paddy's a very good guard but a terrible tackle, issue was staying on the field which he over came this year, no drop off from Bond plus ratio flexibility.

Earlier in the season I was critical of TSN for cutting away from a Bombers game to start the next one and a couple people heeled on me for not PVR'ing TSN3.  So I set TSN 3 to record Bombers games after that.  Had a busy afternoon and was thrilled to learn the "Bombers channel" actually joined the game in progress in the 3rd quarter.  Fortunately, a buddy texted me shortly before 4 to ask if I was watching and I able to set a new recording.

Moral of the story is, record every TSN channel because lord only knows what and when they'll show.

Thats my contribution to this thread. 😉

Go Bombers!

Are you sure? I swear I PVR'ed TSN 3 and got the whole game. HD or standard def?

I recorded a tsn channel, cant remember which one...and got the dolphins game. I was pissed. Until I realized they were replaying the game at 3am. I have it now.

Loved how TSN brought out how Willie Jefferson called our OL overrated right in the middle of a drive where our OL just reared back and kicked their front 7s asses all the way into the endzone.

Yeazh...probably the best thing Suitor said all game actually and well timed lol

It's cute reading over at RF.com that they think they still have the best D in the league. They have a great D and deserve credit for how they played all year. But the Bombers D is better in just about every category and they proved it again yesterday.

Truthfully their best hope was for a P.I. call, not an actual pass completion.

Are you referring to the hail Mary attempt or every pass bridge threw?

Beating Jefferson alone makes it worthwhile & even sweeter. The guy is a p****k.

Yeah, well they're at home & we're not so Rider Nation can blow.

Did anyone notice TSN showing George Reed at the game? I couldn't help thinking that when the game was over, Mickey Doyle was smiling a great big smile and saying to George "What do you think of that, George?"

Actually when you think about it, yesterday was revenge for the Riders beating us at Winnipeg Stadium in the 1972 Western Final. We also lost the last time we played the Riders  in the playoffs back in 1975 at Taylor Field. So, we took care of some long standing business on Sunday. Mickey Doyle, Don Jonas & the rest of that 72 team would be happy.

TSN 1 and 4 definitely had the whole game.   Not sure why, but TSN3 doesn't seem to have the finals games either, must ha e something to do with they're NFL broadcast rights.

Anyway, the game next week is on TSN 1 per the guide.

I knew you would bring up 1972 at some point.  Well done!!!

As a long time Bomber fan, that  game has always been painful. Like stepping on a nail. This win helped expunge that loss... a little bit.
