Bomber Moves 2018

Sorry but I don't like the total silence coming out of Bomberville, but that's just me; I like action and news  like all of you.  Yes we've extended a contract or two and we are distributing the year-end money before the 2018 salary cap  comes in.

But what are the deep thinkers in our organization planning to do?

I hope they are not thinking status quo; that never seems to work out well. Unless we are dedicated to making sharp improvements here and there, I believe we atrophy from last year.

After the 2017 NFL cuts were made did we bring in any linebackers for a sniff? I saw other prospects up here but maybe I missed something.

We have got to fix what's broken and I think somehow management must know more than we do ... we are good prognosticators with our comments on this site but I would like management to show us up.

We are not hearing a lot of news out of the Calgary and Edmonton football clubs so maybe our Blue Bombers are an elite club now (as we join those two in their silence).

But man I hate twiddling my thumbs as I wait to see what our local gurus are going to do. No news is bad news, say the bored ...  Well at least were not coming off seasons like Ottawa Hamilton and Montréal had.

So maybe I should be grateful for our club and its management.

Say what you will about Mike O'Shea but no one can ever overstate how valuable he has been in turning around the perception and culture of this franchise.

  • TSN1290 reporting that SK offered the most money, but he chose Winnipeg.

130k for Demski, not 160k ... still don’t love it. But we’re gambling on the potential.

I don't see it as much of a gamble.  He looked like a star Canadian receiver last season while healthy.  The risk is solely on his health and if he lands on the 6-game it doesn't count against the cap anyways.

What were people expecting?  You had to know he would be getting over 100k.

Bad coaching can be corrected, as well.....

yup my thoughts too. 130 is not bad for a starting CND with his potential. That's all it is right now, potential. But if he pans out, than it's a very solid deal for the bombers.

To me, Demski showed flashes.  I was very excited to hear that we were going to sign him.  Adams, Dressler, Bowman, Demski, Coates, Harris.  Pretty good if you ask me.  Not to mention that most of those guys, including Harris and Flanders that can do some damage on sweeps/screens.

If Demski can stay healthy, he's worth it.....only question is his health.

Woods and Reed are still on the board, c'mon Walters don't be a *****.

Looks like an INT at MLB Santos Knox or Jevaris Jones.  What is wrong with that?

Not sure Reed is an improvement on what we have.  Woods maybe.

Dont think the money some of these guys were hoping for is there.

Why not?  Bowman is American.  Totally different salary structure.

$160K for Demski just doesn't seem reasonable, that's all.

$100K + $30K bonus, however, does make sense.

Isn't that the contract?  That's how I read it

100k +30k signing bonus up front = 130k contract

That's my understanding.

A 160K figure was coming out of the Saskabush crying towel gang...You know how they are with numbers

115k with 35000 signing bonus = 150k.

But.. Since the league rarely to never releases contract details... Who am i to say if thats fair value for a starting CDN.
