Helluva way to advocate for climate change.
Sounds like he was advocating against climate change, not for it.
QuoteAmong those posts, which remain on his public Facebook page, were claims the fires had been deliberately set by the government to trick people into believing in climate change.

Not sure if this belongs in this thread or the MMA thread.

BC junior player chokes out the opposing goalie with a guillotine choke. Would not be surprised if charges are laid over that one.

3DN reported that Yoshi is looking for a significant increase over the 166k he made last year. With Richmond waiting patiently for his shot, it makes sense that we may move on.

We will circle back to this when he signs. It won’t be close to $140k.
It will be closer to that than it is $140k
Depends on his role I guess. Does a team want to pay north of 170k for a back-up? Kolo making 140k as a starter will not help him any, it sets a low bar for teams to use as a comparable. There are teams (western teams in Green in particular) that like to do dumb things so they could certainly give him a bad contract.

He made $200k last year. Zero chance he is signing for $140k.
Not even close.
Bladek was also a healthy scratch for the last two-thirds of the season so I don't think 200k is realistic again this year for someone who wasn't even good enough to dress as a back-up.

knew this was a forgone conclusion...as I said expect it in Jan..well they waited to last day.
Very economical price tag, and love the 1 yr deal as well, so as to revisit in the next off-seasn.
People will be surprised at how different he is as a passer now, and being out from under Lapo here who stagnated him will be huge, and I know we are gonna see a lot of 2 QB packages this summer...good luck with that opposing defences.
Schoen will be next, and best of the rest I bet will gauge what market has to offer now...tho I think we could see a Hardrick 1 yr deal sooner than later
I think this as well puts the nail in the BO coffin unless he realizes that no market is being set, and fair value is his best interests....if not i think we pull a shocker and lock down Oullette...will gave same as BO for less, and has a bit more explosiveness to him as well
Wade couldn't make the announcement until he made sure he was able to get his hands on enough fur coats to start selling them at the Bomber Store. 😂

But at 4.66 for the 40 yard dash, he's not a burner. Pretty versatile, though.
FWIW, Kenny Lawler ran a 4.64 at the NFL combine. Hasn't seemed to hamper his ability as a receiver.

Bennett was an older university player and an older rookie. He's 27 and will turn 28 this year. I don't think he's getting any better. If we can upgrade there, cut bait.
Agreed, He was also touted as the most pro-ready DL available and that's a big reason we took him. Didn't seem like that to me so I'm not sure how much room there is to grow for him.

Is Muamba going to play this year? Who is going to replace Williams on TO?
They already had their MLB replacement, just needed a new deal. He's not a Canadian though so they may have to shuffle things around for the ratio.

the superbowl isn't that old
The Superbowl started in 1966 but theNFL started in 1920 so there's a lot of history that pre-dates the Superbowl.

It's a recruiting tool. So, GOM does, the Gov't Reporting Entities do, etc.
Yup, Stefansson spent over $100k on a recruitment trip to the Philippines that landed a whopping 23 new employees. Dropping a few bucks on Forbes to make GOM seem like a good place to work, would be nothing.

Edmonton just hit 25 straight wins, and while that stat is always impressive regardless, I took a look at their opponents and they only played 4 playoff level teams on that stretch of 15. They beat the Rangers and Toronto, but they beat Philly before the Flyers went on their recent heater, beat the Kings who have been in free fall, and the rest are teams like Columbus, Chicago twice, Sharks, Ducks, Flames, Devils when they were outside the playoff line, Habs, Sens, Wongs and Kraken. Now you have to beat who you play, but maybe they are not as good as a 15 game heater suggests (just like they weren’t as bad as a 5-12-1 start suggested) but it seems like they have again been anointed as Cup favorites by the media based on beating up on weak competition. Let’s see how they do against the likes of the Canucks, Avs, Stars, Jets, Bruins Panthers and Canes, or even mid-range teams before bowing down to them.
You should look back even further than because while they have won 15 straight, they had been heating up prior to that. They won 8 straight starting towards the end of November, including one against the Jets and one against Carolina, so they have beaten some of the teams you have mentioned. They've also lost to some of those teams like Florida.

Sure, but it's not like Hockey Hero Burger is an NHL trademark.
They could call it the McHero Burger and be done with it. Or, call it the Hockey Hero Burger for kicks.
The burger has already had multiple names - it was first called the Superhero burger as a tie-in to the Batman Forever movie but it's also been the Hockey Hero burger & the Triple Double burger. I don't think McDonalds cares too much as long as it sells.

Trevor Harris prior to going to Ottawa to back up Burris: 6 Years of pro experience. (2010 Jacksonville Jaguars*, 2011 Arizona Rattlers, 2011 Hartford Colonials*, 2011 Buffalo Bills*, 2011 Sacramento Mountain Lions, 2012 Orlando Predators, 2012–2015 Toronto Argonauts)
Dru Brown prior to going to Ottawa: 3 years pro experience. (Bombers)
I don't remember Harris being paid as a starter when he went to Ottawa, they already had Burris' big salary on the books, so I doubt they paid two QB's as starters.
Harris is a competent QB, but is he an example of paying big for hoped for performance that worked out?
You asked about reps, not years of experience, so that's what I showed you - a direct comparison of how many snaps they took. Besides, all of that "experience" isn't quite what you make it out to be when you look at what he did and how long he was with those teams. For example, how much experience did he gain in the 36 hours that he was signed to the Bills? The only team he actually got any game experience with was the Arizona Rattlers. I wouldn't say he got years of experience kicking around like that any more than I would say Tyrell Ford got a year of NFL experience last year.
As far as his time as a starter goes, it started prior to Ottawa. Harris started 16 games with Toronto in 2015, when Ray was hurt so teams got a good look at him that year. He signed with Ottawa in 2016, and Burris had re-structed his deal so neither guy was making big money (for a starting QB) that season - they were both going to make around $250k + play time bonuses. Ottawa had structured both QB contracts in a way that it was clear Harris was the starter in 2017. Burris was going to make 200k in 2017 while Harris made 400k. Burris retired before the season so it didn't really matter in the end. https://3downnation.com/2016/11/24/henry-burris-trevor-harris/
Harris had led the league in passing TD's in 2015 with Toronto (was 3rd in passing yards too) so I guess that was enough for Ottawa to feel justified in the payout.

Harris tho hasnt won jack....nor led anyone to the promised land...
He's done better than Arbuckle though. Harris isn't like Reilly either, he's somewhere in the middle. Brown could a Harris, Arbuckle or Reilly but time will tell (I don't like his odds in Ottawa though).

When does paying for anticipated future performance work out for young QB's with very few reps? Mike Reilly in 2013 is the only one I can remember. Before that??? Brown is more likely to Arbuckle than Reilly.
Trevor Harris - first 3 seasons with Toronto: 76 passing attempts - only started one game.
Dru Brown - first 3 seasons with Winnipeg: 102 passing attempts - only started 3 games.
