On another note, with the GC being played in Vancouver, get ready for it you guys.
TSN is going to slobber all over the Lions like nothing we’ve ever seen.

I see you are unfamiliar with Farhan Lalji!  😂

I don't think anyone can compete with him in that area, it's just that the rest of the TSN crew might be closer to his level of nut hugging this season.

Naylor didn’t specify  but maybe he meant for a non Cup hosting year.

Must be because that profit for the Riders was very much inflated by the Grey Cup.

    Quote

"Craig Reynolds, the Roughriders’ Chief Financial Officer, noted the figure includes "a net profit of $9.3 million from hosting the 2013 Grey Cup."

Fallout on Amazon was great. The props, sets, costumes and effects were incredibly detailed and almost totally faithful to the aesthetic of the video games that inspired the show. The gore is intentionally silly without spoiling the action, the doe eyed 'Ned Flanders in the Apocalypse' protagonist bit never wears thin, plenty of comedic actors like Johnny Pemberton, Michael Rapaport, Chris Parnell and others filling out the side-cast and keeping the wasteland fun and wacky like it's meant to be. Between this and The Righteous Gemstones I'm becoming a Walton Goggins fan

Only watched the first episode but it looks like it'll be a good one.  Enjoyed the games so I'm looking forward to seeing where the show goes.

Unlike the thriving jazz culture in Salt Lake City or Provo.

Yup, the Jazz moved from New Orleans to Utah but kept the name.  It happens every now and then... the Lakers moved from Minnesota (land of 10 000 lakes) to L.A. (home of a whopping 6 natural lakes) but kept the name.

Some times keeping the name is appropriate. The Atlanta Flames were named after the Civil War burning of Atlanta but the name still works in Calgary because they are a tire fire franchise.

Well considering roadrunners is the name of an ahl team

what is this. 1980s Saturday morning cartoons?

Because team names don't ever get re-used by other leagues? The Tuscon Roadrunners are the Coyotes farm team so if they did rename them to that, it'd be following a bit of an NHL/AHL pattern.  Can you guess the parent club for these AHL teams:

    Abbotsford Canucks

    Belleville Senators

    Bridgeport Islanders

    Iowa Wild

    Providence Bruins

    Texas Stars

    Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

I don't think the league is too concerned about the name being too cartoony, as long as they make money.  I mean they allowed a team to be called the Mighty Ducks and use this as a logo.

So this sure sounds like harrassment,  and if this went on  away from the workplace (sounds that way) it also looks like 'stalking' along with the other charges, which any lawyer will run with....Doesn't sound good BUT there has to be the burden of proof/ truth attached to this, which could/might be hard to accomplish...It will all come out in the courts but if anything serious sticks to Chadwick....Pinball better have a backup plan ...that would be very prudent

Burden on proof in a civil case is much lower than a criminal case though and some of the incidents happened in front of other people so, theoretically, there would be witnesses to corroborate her side of things.  Whether or not those people would be willing to attest to what they saw is a different matter though.

The CBC posting this ladies picture coming out of court seems like a public shaming move, I don't recall them doing the same for the driver that caused the Humboldt Broncos accident or any other person responsible for multiple deaths, like the guy from Carman that killed his family.  If anything she is guilty of being senile.

You remember incorrectly, the Humboldt driver definitely had his picture in the media many times. They also posted the picture of the Toronto nutjob that ran down a bunch of people.

I get it because it's after the whistle and that's viewed as disrespectful, but Tkachuk is (shockingly) wildly overreacting.

Yeah Tkachuk is the same guy who was admittedly laughing his ass off when his teammate took a slapper into an empty net not too long ago.  He has zero room to be upset about something like this.

Also the reaction isn't quite as big from Sandler (Carvey actually seems the most surprised by it) but I do remember them talking about this sketch and how Farley was supposed to be a nothing part in it, but he just decided on his own to take it up 5 notches to try and break the other cast. Unbelievably funny.

Sandler definitely had to look away multiple times so he didn't completely break.  I loved Farley, I don't know how anyone kept a straight face around him during those skits.

There's a famous story among true SNL nerds about this sketch where Farley was just like an extra person in it. It was a restaurant scene and I can't remember if Sandler and Spade were waiters coming around with the cheese grater thing or what it was, but Farley was just a customer in the restaurant... And before the sketch, Farley says to Sandler "I'm gonna getcha in this one..." Sandler "dude you're barely in it... You can't get me..." And so Sandler comes around with the cheese grater or pepper grinder or something and asks Farley and the woman playing his wife if they want some more ________ and Farley just unloads with a bellowing "WHY YES!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!" and Sandler loses it... Trying to not look at the camera. The best always did it for the rest of the cast and if the audience came along for the ride, then bonus....

The Farley part starts at the 5 minute mark.
