I think fans took that more seriously than he did. His wife came up with the idea of making hats that said Game Manager on them so he leaned into it.

Bryan Randall appears to have a leg up on the QB2 job, Darryl Hackney looked awful in skelly and throws an ugly ball
Onterrio Smith looks like a total pro out there in the backfield, Ramonce Taylor looked good in limited action but seemed to disappear halfway through practice
Justin Surrency catches everything thrown his way and seems to be a lock to make the team, he even made Roc Carmichael look silly on every rep they matched up for. Antonio Brown can run by everyone on the field but on one rep across the middle, Dwayne Slay lined him up and made him pay for it
Tyson Pencer is a mountain of a man out there and will be a sure-fire ratio breaker at tackle if he keeps this up
We’re going to the Grey Cup
TIL Mike is Paul Friesen. Who knew!?

Not sure how we got eliminated from pick 2 so quickly but… it is what it is. Rigged = Chicago or New York winning. I’m open to trading pick 8 tho. I actually think there’s a strong possibility that since McKenna isn’t generational and a winger that a d man could go 1st overall. Honestly I’m not sure McKenna is nhl ready. He might need another year. Leafs could go Reid 1st overall.
Craig Button is practically begging the Jets to trade the #8 pick in order to get an 2nd line center. Said there isn't going to be anyone available at that spot who will be able to step in and help right away. He's probably not wrong but there's also no real consensus on what order guys are going to be picked so the Jets may want to wait and see how the other draft picks play out first.

I hope he develops into the talent that allows us to make him a territorial exemption but the likelihood he does so in this first rookie camp is pretty low. Hope I'm wrong though.
He was in rookie camp with us last year so not his first rodeo.

Yep, would have been almost exactly that long ago. His oldest son, Mike, did briefly coach with Ottawa (during the Gliberman era) but moved on to scouting in the NFL where he stayed for almost 20 years with various teams. Not sure if any of his other kids got involved with football.

Who was JJ Taylor?
Signed him in February. Guess he had second thoughts about playing up here.

I'm guess this is why Ottawa had no interest in moving their #1 pick.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
in Blue Bomber Discussion
Not his last game - that was in 2018 after getting smoked by Ottawa. He tried spinning it by saying it was a heat of the moment thing and that he was over it 10 minutes later & also said it wasn't the first time and wouldn't be the last time he got booed, .but yeah he definitely cared.
2019 was the game manager thing, with the hats, so by that point he was definitely leaning more into it than the year before. He had the club winning while not looking spectacular - a winning record goes a long way to help lessen the impact of criticism!
