    A what is known...smart coaching decision....huhmph...imagine

    Imagine eh...

Kongbo too looks just fine there...be a nice national piece to allow us to dress 4 ends...and import dline help...and rotate em all inside and out

Shades of when we got pressure in 2019 and 2021

4 sacks in 2 games now for Kongbo.

Kramdi, right. He came in for Alden Darby or maybe Rutledge Jr?
I wish historical depth charts were easier to find.

Not sure about Kramdi but Holm certainly didn't beat anybody out - it was an injury that got him pencilled in as a starter.

In his case, he didn't start until September 17th in 2022.  Hallett and Taylor got hurt the week before, in the Banjo Bowl so Holm got bumped up (BA came off the IR as the other replacement).

Honestly I know it bothers people but there are almost no coaches (and certainly almost no good ones) that are going to light their team on fire in public after a loss. This is just standard operating procedure.

Definitely can criticize him for his actions or inactions but whatever he wants to repeat to the public doesn't really bother me. Coaches have their lines, and they'll usually stick to them.

Nobody expects a coach, certainly not this one, to throw a player under the bus but his inaction (ie: not willing to staple some players to the bench) gives the impression he's ok with their performance.  He might be the only person who watched the game and feels that way.

...or maybe it is optimal and this whole thing is completely on Walters and recruitment. I would like to find out as well.  don't get me wrong, I do not like his roster game in and game out either. My opinion after seeing numerous guys in spot duty that everyone is clamoring for such as J. Jones etc is that they really would not have any impact at all if played. However, I really do hope I'm wrong. So far this past couple years our depth has looked terrible when they get their chance. However I do agree that doing nothing isn't going to help either. Play the young guys and let's give our depth an extended look, this season was lost last week anyway.

There are other issues with his decision making that have nothing to do with Walters or recruitment.  His decision, for example, to refuse to use the DA rule is baffling - like why would you handicap yourself and your team because you don't like a rule?

I don't think the Bombers were hoping to replace Lawler with TWO receivers.

Schoen was already on the books, hope he is 2022 Schoen and that replaces Kenny (whoops)

Sign Mitchell, hope he gives you 2023 Schoen like production (whoops)

Sign a position of need... Needed to replace Bighill so come on down Jonathon Jones (whoops)

Mitchell and Jones salary slips nicely into the hole created by Lawler's departure... But neither of them could crack the roster for... Reasons

Schoen was not on the books - he was a pending FA that we extended in February.

    Don’t forget fat Dillon Mitchell

Hard to forget about paying $150k for 11 catches & 85 yards. 😂

We're paying about $250k between Mitchell & Schoen for their combined 340 yards receiving and 2 TD's vs $280-300k and 1k yard receving and 10 TD's for Lawler.  Saying Walters **** the bed on that would be a massive understatement.

300k for a receiver is wild. I’d pay prime milt more. Same with prime Arland Bruce probably Geroy Simon but I’m not sure Kenny is In that group. Like you said, his health and other off field issues are red flags.

Yeah why pay for the best WR in the league when you can get a beat up Schoen for 5 games at half the price?  That's money well spent right there!

He tore it fully when he came back, it was not fully torn prior, and I agree that it isn't probably the wisest move to play a guy on a partially torn ACL but that wasn't the discussion I was having with SpeedFlex. He accused the Bombers of disregarding player safety, I took issue with that assertion. He was given the option to rehab the tear by medical staff, that is how we know it was a partial tear. Fully torn ACL is automatic surgery and quickly before the two sides of the ligament contract. No medical staff in the world would let a player go out on a full tear.

Even if he fully tore it after he came back, they still let him finish the game knowing it was re-injured.  By their own admission, he got hurt again early in the LDC so why was he out still there?

Can someone summarize the story in today's Free Press as to why Ken Lawler left the Bombers? There's a paywall so I can't read the story.

    • Disrespected because instead of trying to re-sign him, they went after Mitchell first.
    • Didn't even receive an offer until the day before FA opened.  His agent only had 2 brief conversations with them during the off-season.  They wanted to let the market determine his value rather than coming to an early agreement,
    • Bombers shut down his side business working in grassroots football in the city.  Said it wasn't that they didn't want him doing it but they wanted it to be under their organization so his work permit got cancelled.
  10. I don't think that Osh even listened to what Milt said.  Osh ranted about Milt not considering ZC's family when he made his comments but that's exactly what Milt was doing.  Milt said if that was his son, he'd never let him see the field again. He wasn't talking about Zach the football player, he was talking about Zach the person.
