Who would be crazy enough to visit NK?
My friend was given over a grand for his one day delay... it is in the small print somewhere where they list out prices on what they compensate.
It's on the government site as well since they set the compensation amounts. If it was a non-safety, controlable delay, you are entitled to compensation based on the length of delay. A 3-6 hour delay gets you $400, 6-9 hours gets $700 and anything over 9 hours is $1000 per flyer.
WestJet has been slapped by the courts for misleading customers about compensation recently too.

We did it last year on defence and it worked out well
Not even close to the same situation and that was also a multi-year process of Younger working under Hall before taking over.
If we didn't promote Younger to DC, somebody else would have given him that opportunity. How many other teams do you think would have willing to give Hogan this shot?

who the eff is Hogan....or RB coach who has no experince doing this type of job at even a collegiate level???....and why would Osh say that it wont be a surprise? That is a huge surprise to me....i guess he meant by promoting from within I guess
You can read about him here:
Oh wait, no you can't because nobody even remotely considered him as a potential OC given other people available.

Also, are the Riders going go with just vets at QB?
Stevens might be considered a vet running back but that's about it. He's thrown all of 20 passes in 3 years compared to 160 carries.

we could have stocked our cupboards....filled our needs and left him out there and then signed him after all the signing flurry ended across the league...he would have still been there and we likely could have signed him for less saying this is all we got...and he would have took it if he wanted to continue being a pro ball player...that was my biggest issue....he wasnt a priority, and if someone did scoop him....no loss and made some of our 2025 roster decisons pre-made for us...as in...he wont be in it
Yeah I don't know how the team was ready to walk away from him in 2018 but don't seem to be able to do it 7 years later?

BC Lions owner Doman is a rich owner & has a lot of cash. We're flush with cash as well after so many great seasons. With the Grey Cup here, I was hoping we'd use a bit of that money to go after some CFL free agents but it doesn't look like Walters will. I'm not an advocate of cheating but WTH??? if other teams are doing it then we should be as well especially this year.
I know loyalty doesn't count for much with players these days with the 1 year contracts but dammit, we stood by him as a team & as a fanbase after that DUI & broken arm. Guess it works one way. Just let him go wherever he wants. I could care less.
I'd be ok with them going after a big FA or two as well but on the other hand, these teams that go big in FA never seem to win so is it worth it in the end? We haven't gone that route, the Argos have been pretty quiet so far as has Montreal. When is the last time a team went crazy in FA and it actually resulted in a championship?

Thank you but I already knew that however I appreciate your explanation. My cynicism comes from the fact that reports from TSN reporters like Farhan Lalji & Dave Naylor as well as social media stories all said that last season the BC LIons were considerably over the cap to the point that they may lose a draft pick. That would be in the neighbourhood of $100,000 or more. Vancouver was hosting the Grey Cup last season & Lions owner Amar Doman's team was hell bent on getting his team into the game to ensure a sell out. He didn't care financially how much he was over when it came to the salary cap. Teams don't care about losing a draft pick anymore. Why should they when they can poach a bunch of players to make up for it in free agency? It seems that this type of thing is going on more & more so as a fan it's hard for me to trust that other teams aren't doing it as well.
The salary cap violations for last year aren't revealed until April so we don't know how much BC was over. They admitted in November they will be over but by how much was still to be determined. They had until the end of December to try to minimize the cap hit.
As far as losing a pick goes, no team has actually done that since 2007 so it looks like that threat may actually work. BC was 83k over in 2023 (worst in the league) so if 2024 was as bad as speculated, they may end that streak.

I've had two different sets of friends who had similar stories with West Jet within the last month. Not sure what is wrong with them , Air Canada isn't much better either.
Yeah WestJet is a mess right now. We were flying out of Puerto Vallarta and we saw on the news that people in Cancun had it even worse - stranded from Thursday to Saturday before they were able to make it home. 1st world problems to be sure but still frustrating to go through.
WestJet made an operational decision to delay/cancel our flight so now they owe $1k (plus expenses) to everyone on that flight. Can't imagine that's great for business.

I’ll bet Hamilton was willing to pay more or give STUBBLEFIELD an extra year. 3 year deal there. That’s likely what it comes down to. 3 years. More $$$.
Unless it's a guaranteed contract, the extra year doesn't mean a whole lot. These teams that go hard in FA are the same ones that cut guys early to avoid paying out the bonuses they agreed to.

A little something for people stuck in the 80's and country fans and should be a nice little payday for the WBB FC. Need to have that stadium used as much as possible when no football or soccer...
FYP because I don't see one act in there for me. 😂 Hope the club does well though.

This used to be a company that prided itself on customer service. Now it prides itself on excuses.
If you even get an excuse from them. We weren't even told why our flight this morning was cancelled (something they are legally obligated to do), just that we were moved to a later flight. 🙄

**** Westjet.
We're trying to get home from Mexico and after 6 delays, 2 cancelled flights, a re-route through Edmonton (where we're still waiting/hoping/praying), I think I can safely say yes F**k WestJet.
On the plus side, when our direct flight to Winnipeg was cancelled & they had us overnight in Edmonton, WJ was kind enough to give us hotel vouchers... for Vancouver hotels only. 🤔

Yep, Ottawa added him to their PR a month after the Argos cut him. Never dressed and became a free agent at the end of the year.

The club has confirmed the news. Some quotes from Walters in this article.

I mean it's basically two weeks until the tampering period.
Would players rather be strung along with love and then hit the market? Maybe depending on what happens in the tampering period the Bombers would make an offer for Bighill.
I honestly don't know what's running through Bighill's head and why he thinks he'll get paid enough for it to be worth his while to keep playing.
Yup, Biggie called looking for an answer he already knew was coming and he got it. Still plenty of time for him to get the lowball offers he's going to get from other teams.

Miller's Meats has a nice variety of sauces, rubs, and marinades that they rotate in and out throughout the year. I haven't gone in a few years but I believe Luxe's (the place where you can buy BBQ's and smokers) also had a large variety of sauces when I last went. I find that most Superstores/Sobeys/Safeway carry the same old stuff and have a very small section for "gourmet" or different BBQ sauces.
Luxe does carry a huge selection but there are still some brands/flavors that they don't carry or can't get in Canada. For example, they carry some Kinders BBQ sauces but there are certain flavours (like black cherry chipotle or bourbon peach) that I have only ever seen in the US. I try to stock up on those whenever I get the chance.
