  2. If Trudeau hadn't started all this social license nonsense as a backdoor way to shut down the industry and wasn't pandering to Quebec on Energy East, its possible that you have two pipelines to ship those resources and access to world pricing which likely saves some of those jobs.Of course, you also have to deal with a system where we now have unelected, accountable to nobody judges making decisions and foreign groups funding protests which nobody is going to deal with and that the majority of people don't think about.

By not making the effects of a down market worse by making decisions that were clearly against the industry based on ideology and spite ?

  6. Willard Reaves was a great back. Absolutely dominated his position in the CFL & was feared as he could deliver some punishing hits as a back & was strong enough to run over tacklers. On the next play he could finesse, dangle a tackler & then explode by him. He also had the advantage of a great OL blocking for him. Loved watching guys like Reaves, Miller & others play as they were all deserving of the praise heaped on them. However, I was fortunate enough to see Dave Raimey play. He played on a very bad football team. He didn't have the luxury of a great OL opening holes for him. Matter of fact, the OL that played in front of him was the worst in the CFL from 1967 thru the 1969 season. There wasn't a great qb calling the plays as Ken Ploen had retired to be replaced by the inept rookie John Schneider. There was no genius coordinator calling the plays just the hapless Joe Zaleski. Raimey had just one teammate who could be a threat as a receiver in flanker Ken Nielsen. That was it for the Bomber offense as far as personnel went. Raimey had to virtually do it all on his own. The result was he didn't have better stats than a number of other backs on this list. Yet between 1965 & the first 2 games of the 1969 season he rushed for almost 4,000 yards & was elected into the CFL HOF in 1989. That speaks volumes for a player stuck on not just a bad team at the time but a dreadful team! He was a CFL All Canadian in 1966 as well as a Western Conference All Star in 1965, 1966, 1967 & 1968 for Winnipeg. He was the CFL leading rusher in 1966. He was a dangerous kick returner as well with 3,234 KO yards for the Bombers. I know that this may sound like a cliche but he did put the Bombers on his back multiple times & carried that team as there was literally no one else that could do it. I don't see the nominees listed yet but once they are, he & Lewis will be my 2 choices. And no, Raimey was not an obscure player nor am I trying to impress anyone here with my knowledge. I'm trying to contribute & partake of that knowledge as I saw most of these players play. I known how good some of them were against their contemporaries. I too, am frustrated that a current player in Bryant won as a tackle over some other of the greats but it is what it is, I guess.

Well anyone who wants an economy should.... you paying much less in gas with the current price vs. 4 years ago? Here is the thing: the price of oil isn't horrible, but canadian oil is devalued because we can't get our product to market because of lack of pipelines, which at this point are a political issue.

  9. I think you can go ahead and put Stegall in at SB, Sellers at FB, and Walby at OT, not much debate required there!

Noeller would like this story... In 1996, I got a part time job as an usher at the Saddledome. Not for hockey as I've never been a Flames fan but because I wanted to see the musical acts perform there. I saw Metallica, Kiss, Hootie & The Blowfish as well as the Hip, 54-40, Def Leppard & the Smashing Pumpkins. However, the main reason I wanted to work at The Saddledome was to see the Brier. So, I worked every event that year including the Brier. I actually walked down to the ice surface after the Thursday evening draw & it was awesome. I said hello to Eddie Werenich who also was down there. The championship game was Alberta vs Manitoba. Kevin Martin vs Vic Peters. During the second end I had to go down to pick something up in the Ushers Locker Room where we changed. There was a blackboard & no one was around so I quickly scribbled "Go Manitoba!!" as I was leaving & thought nothing of it. Just scribbled it for fun. Well.... No one saw me do it but an over exuberant supervisor's head exploded & he began looking for the culprit (me) by actually interrogating every usher as they stood at their stations throughout the Dome threatening to fire whoever did it. One of the ushers close by came over quickly & warned me that this idiot was out to find out whoever dared say "Go Manitoba!!" If he found out then it would mean instant termination. We're supposed to cheer for Alberta, doncha know??? Well, **** him. When he came to talk to me I just said I knew nothing of what happened. He said to me if he ever found out who did then they're gone. Just shook my head at the stupidity & bullying by some 23 year old punk. Anyway, Manitoba lost but it still was worth it seeing this guy going crazy. He never did find out that it was me. For the rest of the year, I'd just smile at him behind his back & chuckle.

  15. If Taylor is that good then why are stuck with the gawd awful Rod Black? Why can't TSN get rid of him & bring in new blood? Get that fricking fracking dinosaur off sucking the life out of me on my 50 inch tv screen.

^ This is me when I watch WWE programming these days. Never really been a fan of the type of light that most stage LEDs throw off. Someone needs to come up with a version that lights a stage or a room more like the older style pot lights. It's more of a wash of light instead of an in your face wall of colour.
