  1. Was not impressed by Hogan’s comments yesterday. Defends an indefensible play call and throws his qb under the bus. Gotta wonder how the players feel.

  2. Ayers had 0 in the Week 9 Argos game. And for 17 for the season by my count.

  3. I'm wondering if this was a situation where he was pissed off about being on the PR and asked for his release. Either way, he earned the demotion...

  5. 3D had an article about how the Riders have sold out Labour Day and that its their first sell out of the year. Meanwhile we are at all 4 sold out this year with 9 in a row. I'm just saying us fans have brought it this year. Flowers to all of us.

  6. I hope these are the changes this week: COLLAROS for Artopeous - obviously BRYANT for Lofton - obviously, although I can see them keeping Lofton as LG. MITCHELL for Cooley - Mitchell is practicing with the 1s, looking more he will play this week PETERSON for Cobb - if Cooley is out, we need someone to backup Brady SCHMEKEL for C. Lawson - this if C.Lawson is out D. LAWSON for Parker - Parker will go to the 6-game, dont want Bridges back on that spot WOODS for Ayers - I hope they'll go DL-heavy this week. Mills will run all over us again BAILEY for Ball - I don't think we need 4 NAT DBs, I'll try this guy

  7. That was primarily because he was the only QB to play in all the games and dipshit WPG media soured on Andrew Harris. Fajardos stats weren't MOP worthy.

  10. Fajardo is a better QB than Streveler. It’s not close. People want Streveler to be the guy from 5 years ago still so badly it’s crazy. Clouding the judgment big time. Some of you can’t leave your emotions out of it cuz if you do, you’d realize Streveler isn’t a starting cfl QB.

  11. Much like when some real solid receivers and dlineman that were out there we failed to land let alone even target any and with this current regime still in place next yr...I have no faith in us signing anyone of signifigance....especially as we already re-upped ZC.....And Osh thinks we are good....so that be the end of that...Even in one the last articles he said we are "thriving" with ZC...guy clearly has zero clue We gonna have I bet the exact same crew back competing at QB with likely the only other new face being the kid we drafted....so we better hope our staff can actually coach heck look at the Faj...for most part looked like garbage...career backup....got o a team who actually worked with him...gave hin a sysyem he could thrive in...with a good group of players around him....Beat us in the Grey Cup. Coaching ails us more than most realize

  12. any QB if he has arm ability...athleticism...and more than 13 brain as well as the ability to learn and be coached can have success. If the time and patience's put in, and you can afford to do that, and also game plans to accentuate their skills....you are gonna develop a guy...we did that with Brown to a certain extent only to let him walk away. Would he have had success here?...Likely last yr/yr before but this yr under the OC...The craptacular receiving group an the piss poor in game coaching/strategy I can't see any guy having sustained success here right now Strev...we didnt develop him whatsoever...if anything we stagnated him and almost regressed him...Now he is forced into an almost lose lose situation coming off only 10 months from a total reconstruction....for sure he not gonna look the same, and yeah for a QB coming off that it definitely gonna affect his pocket movement....platform...base from how he throws...everything....but for now....it is what it is If you look at his tape in the NFL and from all accounts was more than capable and could make all the throws...and showed it Our best course with him is let him get as much work as he can this yr...actually work with developing him and not kill him with stupid previous kind of work load we gave him, and yeah bring him back next yr when he is over a yr removed from surgery and has another yr and full TC under his belt...with real weapons and see how he looks...Thats when you make the decisions...Cause as it stands now the only real vet QB's we gonna have available to us barring any miraculous trade...which aint gonna happen are him and ZC....Let them go to war in camp...legitimately and see who gives us the best chance then...and looking forward....The real onus is on the team to actually coach and develop guys and put the work in...and for last 3 to 5 yrs...we havnt....with any player really...hence why we have zero real depth

  13. Both QBs have been horrible honestly. But I think we have to hope that Collaros finds "it" and regains some of his past form, as unlikely as that may be. Streveler is just way too limited as a QB. Maybe if he was still a threat to run, or if we had the best OL in the CFL, he could succeed. But he just has zero poise in the pocket. He's good at finding his first read and delivering the ball quickly but if that's not there then he is just toast. He's panicking, staring into the pass rush and getting clobbered.

  14. Like what u cooking...id go as far as keep Cobb on for Lawson if he can't go Merci good sir And 2.5 snaps a game for a DA is really such a waste. Almost pointless and to not utilize a player for more than that as your DA is really a disservice to the roster...the way we shuttle guys on and off the field during a game, a roster spot where you could be getting a guy on who could be impactful while also being one your ST demons and basically having him stand around for most part is pretty weak

  15. Oh I'm not advocating that Collaros is a great option, I just don't see it with Streveler. Its the same issues we've discussed since 2018. Can he pass well enough consistently? Is he progressing through his reads? Etc. This is now the same thing and people here have blamed Lapo, Buck and now Hogan and cite the well he lasted in the NFL, where the same questions were raised. Perhaps a guy who is 30 and in his eighth pro season is who he is going to be.

  16. In the last three games, 28 out of Streveler's 44 completions were for 9 yards or less. Another 5 were for 10-12 yards. I'm not sure that you can be a successful starting QB when almost two thirds of your completions are short passes and 75% are for 12 yards or less.

  18. Are we sure Goalie isn't Mike O'Shea?
    2 points
  19. That's interesting just because it rarely happens with the team. Last time I can think of it happening was 2022 with Tyquan Glass.
    2 points
  20. The only reason that happened was Andrew Harris PED situation and Nichols getting hurt. Faj was nowhere near their level that season.

  21. Yeah, it’s pretty hard to make an argument justifying this player/roster usage…. As well as others.

  22. Rather than magically assume that Streveler is suddenly going to develop at the age of 31 next year, why not sign Taylor Powell who is scheduled to be a free agent and who looked good when he had the chance to start?

  23. Nichols also had medlock kicking 6fgs a game, an all time defence and ol, and still got boed off the field, then his replacement lead to two back to back QBs. Horrible red zone percentages, league leading 2 and outs in O etc. Not really an aiming point. zachs had 1 good half this year in 5 starts. I mean you could count zachs good half’s of football on one hand going back to late 2023. I wonder how many picks Zach has this year in fg range and how many went for pick 6s. Gotta be averaging taking more than 1 score off the board a game with just picks. Streveler isn’t the same guy he was. That’s true. At the same time, we don’t need the guy he was back. We need him to do what he’s doing, but do it better. He has been better than zach this year. 95 pass attempts as compared to 124. 2 starts to 5. Good half to good half. The difference is when strevy is not on, we punt a lot. When zach is not on, he’s running us off the field and out of games. We need strevy to get the ball out quicker, speed up the offence and decision making process. Chris has showed he can accurately hit passes all over with in the flow of the offence. Zach can hit moon shots out of the blue, but we don’t need strevy to do that. And we can’t get zach to run tempo or ball control passing game plans, and we can’t win when he isn’t clicking on deep balls. And while he can hit them at random, he can’t hit them at will any more. it’s not a great position to make a decision either way. But with one guy you have the ability to limit damage, and improve. You don’t have that with zach. And we should be turning over every stone looking for a vet to bring in. Each week should be a battle for the starting spot. And the hook can be liberal for either guy. But none of that will happen. We will run with zach till he can barely stand and hold the ball. Little on throw.

  24. Nichols also had a 3-1 TD/INT ratio in 2019, Streveler has thrown more Interceptions than TDs in his two starts. Not the same. We had the same discussion in 2019 about Streveler and whether he could be a starting QB, nothing has changed. BTW in 2019, 8 games started, 1482 passing yards, 7 TD passes, 11 Interceptions, 3-5 record as a starting. Not that much different is it?

  25. Nichols post injured arm survived on passes like that. What is Zach's winning % this season compared to Strev? Zach's salary vs performance has to be the worst in this league this season. I'd take Strev/Wilson or anyone else over Zach at $600 000. Zach has had a full season last year and multiple games this year to show that he's done and he isn't coming back... Strev has had 2 starts and won them both. Why not give him a chance and see what he can do.

  26. To play devils advocate, it appears Streveler did underthrow the 5 foot 8 receiver but dumb call none the less. Hogan screams arrogant prick with his stupid sunglasses always.

  28. People were skeptical of the OC hire, nothing seems to have alleviated those concerns

  29. Our offence with either qb struggles to deal with pressure. We don’t set up well for timing deep shots (we need 5+ second pockets) and we don’t have good quick passing plays. We don’t even attack the mid depth of 15-25 well. Outs, crossers, and hooks, with all the targets in the same relative level of depth across the field. over and over again. Defences don’t even get out of their back pedal. They sit and read the qb and rally to the ball, which is constantly short of first down yardage any way.

  35. Fajardo isn't a free agent and I don't believe he will be traded this season. So what is the point of this statement? Currently we have : Zach Collaros - Was terrible last season with the exception of one game against the worst team (Edmonton) where he had 5 TD and 0 Ints. Has been very bad this season making piss poor decisions forcing balls into triple coverage. Has way more experience then anyone else on the list but is making the most rookie mistakes. % chance of him doing a 180 and playing like he did 2 - 3 years ago is extremely low. The win-loss record this season doesn't reflect him giving us the best chance for a victory. Chris Strelever - Doesn't have the same mobility as he did years ago and is coming back from a serious injury. Has won both starts, has made smart decisions and has looked rusty or a bit off which has resulted in 2/3 ints from last week. Won without Brady O in week one. Fajardo toiled in the CFL while Strev was in the NFL... so an ignorant comment saying he's so bad. Giving him more experience and reps could shake off rust which results in better performances. I believe that their is a higher % chance of him improving over Zach pulling a 180 and playing well. Terry Wilson - Great 3rd and short QB, has been given basically no chance to play real qb. It would have been nice had he been given a few series last year and this year to give him some play time and experience. With how poor Zach is playing at times I wonder why not give him a chance, he's been with the club for a season and a half so he should be ready for some play time. Free Agent QB that we can air lift in: None My opinion of Goalie: Guy who wants to give no one else a chance and is praying that Zach returns to form. Also a guy who has not read what the definition of insanity is.

  36. What’s odd is we went from ride or die with him as starter to gone soo fast. Never should’ve made the team out of camp. But atleast hes gone now. think he was the last db, though we had a bunch before him at db. Did Johnson spent the year on the pr after being benched last year? Maybe he wasn’t willing to sit on the pr, perhaps he knew Jy wouldn’t put him back on?

  37. I think Fajardo is a fine starter, but that’s where the line is. He’ll win you the odd game, make some exciting plays here and there. A more talented version of Drew Tate. I would reflect much more fondly on Faj if his attitude wasn’t so piss poor when things got tough. Never takes responsibility, points fingers, etc.
    1 point
  38. Fajardo was a three year starter in Saskatchewan before moving to Montreal, not a career backup. Won a lot of games there. In what way? Getting old and having a lot less talent around him is what’s rearing its ugly head.
    1 point
  39. Like @Atomic said. We all need to hope and pray basically that Zach can turn it around cuz if you are being honest and real and not just stuck in a fur coat memory, he’s the best option and QB on the roster when healthy and honestly even when not fully healthy.

  40. Disagree and that is not a not a big rah rah streveler statement. Collaros has been ass other than a few random deep shots.

  41. Strev has out played Zach this season and has higher upside and has a much smaller salary. Zach was terrible last season as well. Zach is pushing himself out of a job.

  43. If they popped on Bailey, global DE, straight across for Lawson. Use him in that Cheetah front with all the ends on 2nd and long, maybe 15 snaps a game, put Woods on for the most surplus of the American LB's...keeping in mind majority of D snaps we have 1 of them on the field...maybe see 2 more this week vs Calgary over Toronto who doesn't try to run at all. Jefferson, Vaughters, Person, Bailey (counts as a Canadian effectively), Woods, Adams, Thomas, Kornelson. Solid group of 8. Bailey and Person for sure can cover kicks. Likely keeping 3 Canadian OL starting with Vanterpool out. 3 OL, 2 receivers, 1 running back, 1 Canadian/Global on the field every snap on D. So between Kramdi and Kelly you've basically satisfied that. Any reps Canadian DL or LB get is extra. And lots of coverage for that Canadian spot if something funny happens.

  44. I hope OSH is just protecting his OC - if he agree's with that statement - he needs to give his head a shake - always make it a two score game with 3 minutes left... we got lucky, and the D bailed them out.

  45. I'm sure this quote will be used against us again later in the season. While I don't mind "going for it", I'm a bit hesitant when for the most part the lead was gained by special teams/defense and where up until that point they had very little success in the pass game.
    1 point
  46. Textbook behavior on how to lose your offensive players and get the fans against you by blaming the popular backup quarterback on your stupid playcalling. Leaders don't typically blame others, they take responsibility in their actions. At least on this forum, there isn't one person impressed with him so far. Run the ball, kick the field goal and make it a 2 score game or make a safe quick pass if you feel the need. I have no confidence in our offense if that's the kind of person who's in charge of it.

  47. "No that ain't it" Mike O'Shea... probably

  48. Not a Smurf but not overly tall, either. If Oliviera is to be effective, we need to have better blocking at guard and center as teams are clogging up the middle on us. To me, it would be a helluva lot easier and quicker to replace Kolankowski as his ineptness affects the inside run game and also makes life a lot harder for Neufeld and Wallace.
    1 point
  49. Yeah interesting move. I don’t know that they look at him as a T project either. Elite run blocker, if he picks things up fast we might go back to 3 imp ol. This move smacks of wanting an imp guard.
