My concern with vaughters is outside of power he’s really marginal athletically. Hes not Jake Thomas slow, but he is slow as hell. If his bull rush fails, he’s basically sol. He’s at that age you wonder when he will lose a step. When that happens, it’s over for him imo. At least on the edge. He could probably be a strong pass rusher from inside for a while after that happens.
imo, inside as an imp, he’s behind woods fox and adams, in that adams can develop a lot still. While also being behind Lawson. And the inevitable wasting of the entire game in one spot on Jake Thomas.
I don’t expect us to make the best use of vaughters. If he loses any thing on that first step he’s cooked on the edge.
He’s tied for the highest paid db on the team, tied for 3rd on the D.
In an off season we are looking at losing two starting Canadians in free agency, both of whom are better at their position than Kramdi is, that’s a tough pill to swallow.
Kramdi is 70% a contract problem. He did step up last year and if he continues to play at that level it’ll be tenable. It sets a horrible standard for us with the NI and dbs though. It’s a real boat anchor of a deal.
