RIP buddy, played high school football with Lyle at Mount Royal in Saskatoon. He always had that edge and was something special as a player!

I think he may be remembered more for his Never Alone Foundation that helped cancer patients, families & caregivers than his time as a Bomber player or President. Rest in Peace, Lyle Bauer. He'll be missed.

Very kind the times I met him at signings, fan days. The Never Alone Foundation is an amazing legacy for him to leave. He also did a lot to help dig the club out of a massive financial hole in 99-2000. RIP Lyle.

15 DL on the roster, plus 2 picks plus 1 returning from college. 7 of the 15 are DTs, plus 1 pick and 1 returning. Could see another couple ends come in still. 11 ol plus I would expect the 2 late picks to be in camp. Could see us adding more OL before full camp. 9 lbers plus 2 drafted and 1 returning from college. Thats a LOT of lbers, but we can always use more and always carry lots. 26 dbs on the roster plus the 3 signed today. 0.0 thats a lot lol. I could see a handful getting cut in rookie camp and a bunch more brought in for full camp. 4 rbs plus 1 drafted and 1 returning. I could see another imp or two coming in, though probably more KR types. RB and QB would be nearly impossible to crack to roster on here. 22 wrs plus 2 drafted. We never stop adding wrs or dbs. Could see a few more wrs to limit lopsidedness in rookie camp, and again KR types. 4 qbs plus the 1 from the college program, probably won't see an arm brought in unless some one is hurt or cut early. 2 kickers and 2 punters. Probably done on that front too.

For all the discussion about drafting a RB/FB hybrid, if we think of Mike Ike in the core special teams linebacker role (with an elite athletic profile for that and film to back that up) then it could be good value that he could fill that special teams role while also playing 10 snaps a game on offense Walters said Klercius is also going to be a special teams guy and bring a physical presence to the offense Those two + adding a big hog like Gabe Wallace and suddenly the Bombers invested big time in fortifying the physicality of an already really physically imposing offense while simultaneously boosting the special teams cover units

Only 30 but over 100 nfl games. Man if he’s got any thing left that’s massive. I’d love to have him here. I’d take him but I’m sure we won’t even investigate. Oh, he will be. I'm just saying in 20 years if his foundation is still around , it will have helped a lot of cancer patients. My brother in Winnipeg has pancreatic cancer so I'm curious as to what the foundation does & will be checking it out online.

To be honest, he was a three time Grey Cup Champ as a player and the Bombers were in 3 Grey Cups during his time in management (although they unfortunately didn't win any of those). I think he rightfully could be remembered for his football career and the foundation he started.

Ya I agree Clercius and Mike-Ike seem like picks ready to jump onto the roster for STs right away. Samson could get on the roster for some games I would think. Schmekel played some last year and could definitely up grade over him. Maybe they go all american rotation at DE and more Cdn rotation at DT For sure. It is a 5th round pick. Most guys picked there are never playing.

So we filled the loss of BOLO, Filled the "loss" of Damian Jackson with a CDN, added some depth along both lines...no stand-out starts but depth that we hope one or two turn into staters one day....overall IMO a good draft when stepping back and looking at it. We didn't get any of the "sexy" name picks but IF the big name OL we took a flyer on ever comes up North..... IMO no big swings, no immediate impact but just a good overall draft.

Think of Clercius as depth but also him and Chris-Ike as replacements for Mike Miller/Damian Jackson on O. Let's hope they can be effective role players immediately. Also BOLO replacement and cover in case Augustine hangs them up. I can't see both Clercius and Chris-Ike not being on the roster. They need to backfill BOLO. I guess Murphy could be the guy. Probably won't be dressing 7 OL either.

I think Clercius and MCI make the AR this year and maybe Samson, although I don’t see them wanting to have 3 Canadian D tackles. That’s good enough for me. Stick Wallace on the PR, hope he develops for 2025. The rest, we’ll see. Maybe Hubert blows them away at camp and gets Bennett out of here as a rotational piece.

That's a very good thing... as long as you're talking about the 24-30 year old version of Jake... I don't pretend to know anything about the prospects but some of the resident experts around here seem to really like Brubacher... I wonder if we could've drafted the second round like this: 13 - Clercius 14 - Chris-Ike Brubacher 17 - Wallace 20 - Samson Chris-Ike Still end up with WR, RB, OL, DL but potentially an upgrade at DL... just a thought
