Penton saying he's been told the contract is valued at north of 400k a year.

We'll see how it breaks down when the details leak though, a fair share of that will clearly be bonuses.

Hopefully that agreement stipulates "achievements" and does not simply award games played.

North of $400K.  More than Mitchell, Reilly, Collaros and Crompton.  In Ray and Burris territory. Good for Willy, I guess.  I hope he earns it this year and going forward.  I still think it's the wrong move.

I think that in all fairness, you should probably write a strongly worded letter to the the Chair of the Winnipeg Football Club.  In it, you can outline your concerns and include your extensive CV which will demonstrate just how informed your opinion is.  I'm confident that once they read the letter, they will give it the attention it deserves.

The contract being done now just shows the parties involved are aware of the necessities of getting this deal done now. And in pretty much the same vein, they will have structured this contract in a way that makes sense..for everybody. Well not everyTBbody, but those who can see it for what it's worth.

No horror show, nor distractions to be worried about all year.

What am I saying? Every time Willy has a bad throw, int. or gets sacked, I'm sure we'll hear about THAT bloody contract.

If Joe Mack were still our GM, he'd say to Willy's agent, "Here's $200k...take it or leave it!"

Then he'd tell a long story about the days of leather helmets and a time when people used to wear onions on their belt.

Good for Willy and the bombers - I'm guessing base salary is more aroun $300-350 with incentives

1/4 of the cap is now tied up in QB and OL, Bob Wylie is full time... if there's a problem now, its on MB's schemes.

What I've learned posting here is you think everything the bombers do is the wrong move so just saying, but since you seem to always think they are doing wrong, your shtick is getting/gotten old.

This must be the earliest an OC has been thrown under the bus. Then again, we did have Crowton.

Lots of folks think whatever the Bombers do is right.  I disagree with something the Bombers did.  Not the first time.  Won't be the last time.  I still hope it works out.

That being said, do you think that Willy's worth more than the rest of the young QB's in the league?

I've agreed with most of the Bombers changes this year.  Only 2 that I disagree with so far...  Willy getting north of $400K and keeping MB as OC.  Your shtick seems to be remembering things that didn't happen then complaining about them.

Well, in fairness, it was the style at the time.
