If we didn't completely fall off the cliff in the 2nd half last season then maybe, but we did. so he shouldn't get a raise until after this season. I wonder how many teams will actually give him a legitimate shot after next year, unless he somehow gets most of the starts and plays lights out. This is just plain and simple negotiating, it'll get worked out. He wants to stay and the Bombers want to keep him. Again, right or wrong some athletes expect some sort of security other than being paid for what they deliver. Similar to having a base salary where most of your income comes from commission.
