CFL - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

the stamps 2 victories were meaningless   ... I  still think they fight with the Riders for the basement

toronto has enough talent to still win without a QB: special teams + decent D

Those years in TO were frustrating as hell. RR goes down...Collaros becomes a star....rince and repeat with Harris. Whoever was scouting their Qbs couldn't miss it seemed.

Well..... The fourth guy in that stable was Faj, I believe, sooooo... Maybe 3 outta 4 ain't bad....?

Whatever. He is both. And, given the depleted talent level in the CFL, he belongs here.

Now, we can talk about Harris.

Collaros left Toronto in 2013, Harris in 2015, Fajardo didn't come to the CFL until 2016. It was never a Ray/Collaros/Harris/Fajardo stable. Say what you want about Fajardo but he's got a Grey Cup MOP like Ray and Collaros unlike Harris.

There is far too much Faj love around here... Gross.

Too much grey cup champion Faj love around here. Corrected that for you

Is there not a large potential problem with anointing an inexperienced quarterback as the starter without any significant body of work to justify passing over an experienced incumbent player? What kind of message does that send to the other players, or, for that matter, the fans?

Let's remember, this is just speculation. They're not even discussing extension until the GM and coach is/are signed.

But, you can't hand the ball to Tre Ford. He's not ready. If he'll ever be.

Another element I believe is this heavy resistance with HC’s to mobilize a 2 qb system other than trotting out a short yardage qb specialist.  I get you need a number 1 and keep their confidence high get them in the rhythm of the game but it’s all mindset. Use Tre Ford as that 2nd package strategically during the game when the situation calls for it. He’s not #1 but keep the D on their toes knowing that they will be getting doses of two gb skill sets throughout the game.

I think this issue needs to be debated more. :)

agree....or be more apt if a guy just doesn't have it on a particular to pull him if not for a series or tw0oand let the back-up take over.....see if he gets some traction, or at the least allow QB1 to see what's going on .....HC's have really got away from that.

Gives the back-up valuable reps, and sometimes throws a big curve at the other team's defense and get's that spark...

Just wanted to chime in that we are getting to that glorious part of the year Rider fans hate...

Mathematics and probability to figure out if they can host a playoff game

Reading their gdt is funny...what a clueless uneducated bunch...the level of convo there is laughable

Most of their GDT yesterday is ragging on some of the Bomber cheerleaders for being overweight.

That would be a disaster.  Especially if they are on that track without having permanent GM and coach in there.  No one credible will take those jobs if they are saddled with a QB who can't pass.

Body shaming is a new low on that forum and it is on the admins to control it. One of the things I appreciate on this forum, no matter our differences of opinion, when things get way off topic and there is something that is in exceptionally bad taste they do not hesitate to lay down the law. I really appreciate that so big kudos to MBB Admins!

I mean, we knew they were a pathetic fan base, but I’m a bit surprised to see just how pathetic lots of them are as people too.

Generally reading any of their topics...it's pathetically sad...calling down people and places...made up nonsense..conspiracy against them...just a pathetic fan base...feel sorry for any of the good people there but if they protest they get attacked by other forum residents or banned

I saw @BBRT over there calling them out for it. Good on you man.

I get that it’s  sports, **** talking is a thing.

I mean, we call riderfans inbred or worse (though quite honestly some of that should probably stop as well) .

Point is, leave womens bodies out of it, this is 2024.

As the father of a daughter, that crap gets me mad enough to sweat like someone from Saskatchewan trying to read.

Or trying to figure out what the toilet and shower are for in their hotel rooms....

guess the label fits the team....bunch o' assbags

Year after year, the Riders are the dirtiest team in the league.

And their media is like, hur... dur...

They deserve each other. Trash media for a trash fanbase.
