I didnt imply those salaries covered it all....Schoen will likely come in at Lawler last year money at top end at most...but u also add an entry level contract at 3rd string qb...and RB....so thats also savings above and beyond what those 3 pulled in...Lawler took a shave..Bryant took a shave...Expect Biggies shave to come...jettison Thomas and Kolo 3 figure salaries....Briggs and Millers...and it adds up... The fact that he was leaving is irrelevant. If the trade was made earlier, before teams started re-doing their QB contracts, there could have been a bigger market/demand and gotten a bigger return. For Walters sake hopefully Schoen is looking at the BC receiver contracts and not up at Lawler or Lewis, and pray they don't share the same agent. For every player we don't sign you have to subtract at the minimum the CFL minimum salary to calculate SMS relief. Mike Miller, for instance, was making 120k. Wasn’t their ol banged up too? Green qb hurts too. I would not be surprised if their ol performs better this year. 5th round pick is free lunch. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes for brown in ott. from his first appearances where he looked like he didn’t belong in any organized football, frantic out of place and panicky. Dru slowly matured into a guy with poise and talent, stepping in when we needed him and performing very well. Great guy and prospect wish him well. Next man up time to find another.
