Still trying to figure out how VA gets under the SMS.

Rourke makes nothing.

BC went on a spending spree in FA

My guess, the new owner cares about winning and building for the future and would be willing to pay a salary cap fine if it meant getting more butts in seats and a better gameday experience for his fans. $100 000 fine would be worth a playoff appearance if you ask me.

That’s fine, but that is a super slippery slope.

We can laugh off a 100k fine too.

Assume Adams has a large bonus structure of guaranteed cash so his weekly cheques aren't that huge.  Adams weekly pay probably about $6000 per game, maybe a bonus for playing 50% of snaps each week.  Rourke around $4000 a week plus bonuses.  BC has 8 games left so they probably need to cover about $20,000 hard money to acquire Adams.

They've had three big money guys on 6 game, two of them for the whole season.

It all just needs to add up at the end.

As per 3Down, this is VA's salary breakdown:

2022 signing bonus: $190,000
2022 base salary: $187,000
2022 hard money: $399,000

It's 8 games of whatever is left on his contract. I don't think it's all that hard to fit in.

$187,000 (VAJ Salary) / 18 = $10,388 / Game

$10,388 * 8 (Games left for BC) = $83,104 = SMS hit

Even if BC was at the cap limit, they won't go over by $100K by adding VAJ's salary.

It depends on how it is structured.

I think Kenny is coming back here next year

Where would he fit in salary cap wise?

think VAJr is a pretty decent fit for BC. Those receivers they've got win a lot of 50/50 balls...

They had a couple high profile FA signings that had season enders in camp. They have the room for VA. Signing VA will likely just prohibit them from making any kind of NFL cut splash signing.

Ed Hervey is a scumbag.

So we can expect him to GM Saskatchewan next season then?

Might have left a sour taste in Zylstra's mouth about the CFL too.

Makes me laugh in retrospect, all the Edmonton fans for years figuring Zylstra could eventually come back… now we know there was never a chance in hell after they done him dirty like that.

doubt it... he can't be neg listed anymore so he'd be a complete free agent if he decided to come back.

Wonder who the other teams were

Wouldn’t be surprised if Winnipeg was one of them. We needed a receiver at the time and the Minnesota/Manitoba connection would make a lot of sense.
