THE 4-1-1

Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. Sunday; Mosaic Stadium, Regina
TV: TSN1, TSN4, RDS, ESPN2
Radio: CJOB
The forecast: A mix of sun and cloud. High -10C.
Vegas line: The Riders are favoured by 2.5 points.
Streaks: Winnipeg: 1L; Saskatchewan: 2W.
Home/Road: The Bombers are 4-5 on the road this year; the Riders are 6-3 at home.
Head to head, 2018: The Riders captured two of the three meetings this year, winning 31-23 in the Labour Day Classic in Regina and 32-27 a week later in Winnipeg in the Banjo Bowl. The Bombers countered with a 31-0 shutout on October 13th at Investors Group Field.
Playoff history: These two clubs last met in the playoffs in the 2007 Grey Cup, a game won 23-19 by the Riders. The Bombers last played in Regina in the playoffs on November 8, 1975, a 42-24 Saskatchewan victory in the West Semi-Final. Add it all up and the Bombers have lost seven straight playoff games to their arch-rivals dating back to a win here in Winnipeg in the 1965 West Semi-Final. The Riders hold an 11-9-1 advantage in the 20 playoff meetings between the two teams.

I believe we have the first regular season win and the first playoff win in their new stadium.

  • It's similar in some respects to IGF but very different in many ways. My (scattered) observations: I was on the East Side, wayyy up, third from last row. @trueBlue83 sat behind me. We seemed

I'm not questioning the headshot. What I'm saying is that Bridge put himself at risk by cutting back inside. Jeffcoat will be fined but Bridge put himself at risk as well.

I just was picturing all of Regina yelling in their cars on the way home which made the whole thing kind of funny.  Stadium was all loud with boos.

Love the gutsy win, but I'm just saying the rule book specifically states the following:

A player shall be penalized for any act of Unnecessary Roughness to the passer, including but not limited to:

(b) Any blow to the neck or head of the passer,
(f) Contacting the passer if either the initial source of contact, or primary source of contact, is the defender's helmet.

Whether or not Bridge was inside the pocket is irrelevant, if it's a hit to the head, or even if the defender leads with their helmet - it's a penalty.

It's on page 57.

It's relevant because he's not a passer once he establishes himself as a runner.  Check the case book.

regardless... he was held up, Jeffcoat lead with his head and left the ground... cheap shot. should have been flagged.

Watching the ref cam...it was just bad timing. A ssk player stepped in front of the ref just as the hit landed. Bad luck, unfortunate. But that's football. Couldnt have happened to a better fan base. Go **** yourself rider fans!!!!!

Disagree it was cheap.  Should have been 15.  But they missed it because it was a marginal hit on a runner.  Jeffcoat didn't launch himself.  He went up shoulder to shoulder and Bridge's head dropped when he chucked the ball.  There's no intent, they all need to protect their damn heads though.  That hit is as dangerous for the hitter as the guy being hit, wish guys would tackles with their arms and hit/tackle at the waist.

No doubt, duck that guy

I am sure Rod Black has thought about it...

Cars? They were driving home in their pick ups, tractors and combines.

Sounds like Bighill aggravated his elbow.

Hopefully he can play Sunday.

What. A. Game. So much fun at Mosaic. The crowd around us was AWESOME.!

Chros, we're headed to the Fat Badger.

Great venue.

That sounds like a good nickname for Jake Thomas...

Is anyone going to congratulate Mike O'Shea for getting the playoff monkey off his back? I'd imagine he's feeling pretty damned good right about now.

Congrats to O'Shea and Nichols. I did like how Matt had to point out to Sara that this was his "second" playoff win. He seems to always be defending himself.

November 11th 2018. The day we remember our fallen men and women who fought for country and for the Bombers who ended the 2018 cup run for the Riders. #lestweforget

Bombers gave up 3 offensive touchdowns in 4 games against the Riders one from the one yard line.

Says a lot about both teams.

They need to have review more accessible for lots of issues.

Brutal conditions both teams did about as well as could be expected but....that wasn't really our A game, hope to see it next week against the Stamps though.

There has to be some onus on the player to protect himself as well, Bridge put himself in that position, Jeffcoat didn't even unload on him.

6 defensive penalties on both teams in the whole game and 2 of them on back to back plays on the Rider drive after the Bombers got up two scores to put them on the one-yard line.

No special teams penalties in the entire game.  Favourable reffing for Sask, great we could overcome that.
