As an athlete a lot of guys want to test their skills against the best and if he goes to the NFL it will be because he doesn't want to end his career without taking that shot. I'm pretty sure the brass along with the majority of fans will be okay going into next year with a Nichols - Streveler tandem and Bighill on a hopefully 3 year deal!
