Game day thread: Winnipeg at snowy Calgary

Since Michael O'Shea has arrived here we have relentlessly heard preached the crucial elements of character, heart and team loyalty. Tonight that's going to be put to the test -  - to see how character stacks up against talent.

The Bombers have a lot on the line, Calgary doesn't. One of the 2 teams will end on a three-game losing streak.

The snow by the way is just another wildcard, not an advantage card.

Let's see who wants it more  (which is another way of saying how much does heart and character really count for anyway).

I'm with TBURGESS. Folks may want nice things, but the world is a dark and joyless place and everything is terrible.

  • thing is too tho...this mailing it in thing is a bit of a myth/farce...as a player I have played in many a game which held no real significance at certain points in a year, and believe me guys don't w

Is Nichols hurt or are they resting him cause the playoffs are set?

Everything going right for the Bombers tonight so far

So here we go 3 man rush and Calgary makes hay; no more Harris and lots of 2 and outs. Come on Hall and LaPo

Ya. Cuz the game was so in doubt. 7 qb sacks. 7 turnovers.

All the worrying and fretting and Calgary doesn't show up, hope the conditions are the same when we go back to Calgary for the Western Final and do the same to them this time with BLM as there Qb.

my comments from being right up by the bench

- damn it was cold, but we were far more prepared than the stamps for the weather. our boys didn't even act like it was affecting them much (except for one or two fumbles)

- buckley looks like crap. If we can win next week, and the DL acts like beasts against BLM, the game is ours

- our DL was top notch tonight

- Ball Hawks.  Nuff said.

- minimal penalties

- decent play calling considering the weather

- bomber fans showed up

- couple rider fans even taped "Bomber Fans 4 The Day" on their rider jerseys. LOL!

Guess they actually meant it.

Please no more LeFevour at qb except in short yardage....

Missed the game last night, anywhere I can watch it online?

Ya I was wondering, too..... Jazzsax did you have the Bombers flag on a stick? I was front row at the end with my fiancee and our friends kid....

Hypothermia must have set in at the stumps bench....they sure looked like they didn't want to be there....Us on the other hand seemed to relish in it...especially big Okpalaugo  and Jeffcoat.........great game by those two.... Shout out to Nevis as well...best he's played all year...And what can you say about Andrew....he ground out a ground game in that slippery stuff and watched his counterpart on the stamps slip ..slip...slide away and was totally ineffective...Harris deserved that record..especially in those conditions....Have to turn our attention to the Sask./Edm. game now ,to see who wants to face us or go chicken and head east....Like very much how we played that one....now can we string together 3 more....Man that would be nice and a long time coming

I’m damned happy we won that game last night but will temper my enthusiasm somewhat knowing we faced two back up QBs who have limited reps and experience .. our offence struggled mightily as well.

That said, we won, finished with our best record in years and the team / organization takes yet another step forward. Regardless as to what happens next week, this has been the most enjoyable season at IGF to date.

The D-line was simply outstanding, what a performance.

They played their backup QBs but so did we!

Our offense beat their offense 6 to 3 and they could have scored an additional FG instead of going for it on 3rd down.

Could have but didn't!

I'll take a 6-3 win any day.  You're not bringing me down today T Bor!

Didn't, not because we stopped them, but because our D put up 17 points. They would have if the score was close.

He was awesome! The Bomber players kept pointing that guy out to the TSN camera man.

He looked like he was hurting at the end of the game. Does anyone know if he's okay?
