bc thumped by SASKATCHEWAN

BC @ SASKATCHEWAN

?‍?Marks the return of Area 51's brother with BC (Ricky Foley)

Ian Hamilton- When the Roughriders fall behind, they tend to abandon the running game and opponents then can get after quarterback Kevin Glenn.

Kevin Glenn starts. Glenn had his lowest output of the regular season in that loss — he threw for 186 yards, albeit with a completion percentage of 70.4 — but he was under duress for much of the game thanks to the Lions’ defensive line.

?‍? Jonathon Jennings starts for BC

I. Hamilton- The Riders are not getting to opposing quarterbacks enough. Rookie Tobi Antigha is second to Jefferson with two sacks and Antigha and A.C. Leonard are tied for second with six pressures apiece. Saskatchewan entered Week 8 ranked seventh in the league with 11 sacks and ninth in the CFL with 31 pressures.

?‍? Dan Clark out at centre. LaBatte fills in, with T Dennis moving to guard, and Bruce (better late than never) Campbell comes off the reserve list to play tackle. This alone should be worth a look.

?‍? BC, who easily beat Sask. last week, relied on 5 FG attempts...with 4 being made.

CFL.ca Staff

By The Numbers

3 – Touchdowns for Duron Carter in the Riders past two games.

4 – Minimum catches that Riders receiver Bakari Grant has made each game. He is only one of three players (Winnipeg’s Darvin Adams and Toronto’s Anthony Coombs) that has four of more catches in every game this season.

10 – Number of rushing touchdowns that Travis Lulay and Jeremiah Johnson have combined for this season. They have five touchdowns apiece.

51 – League leading tackles for Solomon Elimimian heading into Week 8.

?‍? The Riders have played well at home so far this year (2-1). Can they prevail today? I doubt it.

71% of polled fans say Lions win.

6/7 CFL writers say Lions win.

I feel like the answer is pretty much always cheer against the Riders.

Can't we all just get along? Isn't there something we can agree on, like the Riders suck? Wouldn't it be terrible being from Saskachewan? Why do the Riders have the ugliest cheerleaders in the league?

You know who was the King of Garbage stats? Kerwin Bell in 1999. Dude had over 5000 yards passing and about 3500 of it came in the 4th when we were down 20.

Like Drew Willy early in 2016.

Riders will be 3-1 at the "new" Mozaic Stadium.

Remind me again who handed them their only loss...

BC looks really discombobulated.  I wouldn't read too much into either game of this back to back.

Whatever Khari had cookin' ain't workin'.

BC plays the Stamps next weekend so the Bombers should be able to hold on to 3rd even if they lose to the Esks.

Holding the damn ball like a loaf of bread...

Wally!!

This is a revoltin' turn of events.

What happened was simple. What happened was what people feared would happen to us vs Hamilton. BC never showed up. They werent ready. They were overlooking the crappy riders. Jennings didnt help but the pre game video of buono says it all. Riders might suck.. Same with hamilton.. Ottawa also right now but if you dont show up to play they will beat you. Cuz in the CFL there isnt a huge difference between the 7 and 0 ESks and the 1 6 and 1 Redblacks.

I would like to know who outside of Saskatchewan actually called for Regina to win tonight .... is there anyone on this board or for that matter in this country that had that much insight?

Does BC miss Burnham that much?

One word for BC's performance? Brutal

Still don't consider Cindy Williams an elite receiver, and you can't make me..

Carter loves dem der face masks...

Wally read his locker room well, didn't he?

Duron Carter playing one play at D- back.. is a lot closer to another D -b word I was thinking of..

Not only were the Lions not on the same page, they weren't in the same library.

For tonight only BC Lions become the PU Lions

13 hurries, 12 hits and 4 sacks for Sask. Are you watching Richie Hall and Mike O'Shea?

Credit the Riders for a good game plan and even better execution.

Debit the Lions for the exact opposite.

Does anyone find the Hank Burris feature at halftime informative? I think he skims over things too fast & his voice is soft & hard to hear at times.  Doesn't really explain things very well.  Any comments? I thought LaPo was much better.

100% agreed. 0 value added, whatsoever.

It's obviously a filler to take up a couple of minutes.  Thanks for your comments as I thought it was me. Hank just talks fast & mumbles.

And he's a self-aggrandizing windbag, so there's that...

It was you. I hope your game plan at labor day isn't us hitting the upright in OT again

Big win. Punched them right in the face and never looked back. Its professional football boys, you got to show up.  We needed that win.

It's informative to me, but the highest level of football I ever played was men's rec league flag.  Didn't know what Cover 3 was until Hank explained it.

Agree that it's terribly produced, though.  Hank doesn't have a great voice for this kinda thing, or they've got the gain turned way down on his mic, or whatever.  And it feels really hurried, they jump between so many different plays while explaining one concept ... would be better to just pick one play that demonstrates the topic and then break it down with some detail.

Also, wtf BC?

The Wally pre-gamer was pretty eerie.......sure enough, BC came out were flatter than a pancake.    Reading too many press clippings?

Jennings was pretty special....an a brutal and horrible way.  Far beyond bad.

Riders played well, and had the most D pressure I have seen from them, in a while.   Or is BC OL is really that bad?    In games like this, usually both.

Our game plan will be to score more points than you...again.

The Lions should be ashamed of themselves for that performance. That's close to being on par with the Ticats effort against the Stamps.

Making a statement about something that happened in the US? Let the NFL & the other sports leagues with teams down there do it.

Please say more about this.   Assuming you are talking about the "diversity is our strength" message, why do you object to that?

The game seemed to be about two perfect storms- BC coming out as flat as piss on a plate, and the Riders waking up. I don't expect repeats of this. I don't think the Lions would have beaten the TiCats last night, or anyone else. I should think they will have to repaint the visitors' room at Mosaic Stadium after Wally finished talking to his team following the game.

pretty sure that was a one off by both teams..ugly game by B.C....You don't go from totally owning a team one weak, to being that inept...Wally called it before the game and I am sure heads are gonna roll there...but thanks for vaulting us to third with a game in hand and if we win and bc comes back with a vengeance against CGY we sit in second all alone

BC tried to scoop a Rider O lineman, and taynted faith thinks they tried to grab Spooner.

I think the BC O line is plain bad.

Bad O line plus one injury prone scrambler, plus one chuck it up for grabs guy  =  problems.

Bombers seem to have the best O line at this time.

Probably no coincidence why Nichols is having a career year. Keep your QB standing on his feet and good things will happen.
