  1. sort of agree but IMHO it is a very short leash. DW has to pick up his game quickly as the first 6 games in the schedule are killers. We could very well be 1-5 or 2-4 or even 0-6 before the summer is 1/2 over.
  2. I think the majority of us will give MOS a little more time to get things right. But the score did flatter the Bombers and should not have been even that close. Drew Willy's performance in the first half was miserable and the defence made Kevin Glenn look like an all star. So I can see where the Doom and Gloom come from. However let's see where things stand at the 1/3 mark. If the Bombers are 1-5 or 0-6 - and they very well could be - it will be time to make some serious changes. From what I can see so far this team regardless of who they bring in player wise just is not well coached.
  3. I guess that is how I feel. When we moved to Calgary from the Peg about 15 years ago (I moved our small company here to get better engaged within the oil patch) I was really down. Had been a season ticket holder in the Peg ever since we moved to Winnipeg from Dallas (wife is from the Peg). Once we made the move to Calgary I even renewed my season tickets for about 5 years and gave them away to family members still in the Peg. Then during the Jeff Reinebold era I just got fed up and did not renew but watched every Bomber game and traveled back and forth each year to catch at least 2-3 games etc. Then slowly but surely over the years and now with the current state of the organization I seldom even watch them on TV and only post and follow things here from time to time. I guess what I am saying is at least related to my situation I am slowly trending downward and becoming less engaged and indeed more disengaged. To quote Herb Brooks "Fool me once shame on you - Fool me twice shame on me" !
  4. With the additional cost of the work yet to be accomplished can anyone tell me what the projected total costs all in will be for the stadium regardless of who the heck pays for it. Things are getting out of hand as I hear some rumors that indicate that the total (all in costs) for the stadium will approach $400M (which can not be right can it?)
  5. Oh shucks - I thought it was Nasty Nate back - after being banned over on the Riderfans site the only home left for him is on the Stamps site. But guess not. In any event just to chime in here I think Wade has 2016 to right the ship and then if not - bye bye. I must admit I was very enthused when the Board brought him on board as the CEO but after two years not so impressed. And with little if any additional revenue streams other than gate receipts projected for 2016 I think the Bomber Bottom line in 2016 may be awash with Red Ink.
  6. And a big Amen to that remark. The time for excuses is indeed over. Walters and MOS deliver this year or they are toast! End of story!
  7. excellent job Rich - love the look and feel.
  8. MOS will probably still be here then and reviewing the game films before he comments on our 5-13 or 4-14 etc season!
  9. True Dat - I had no use for MB but the firing should have gone higher up the food chain. It will be interesting to see what the STH count will be like in 2016 with Miller and his boys still running the gong show.
  10. Not sure I buy into the MOS support side. I think you can take what you indicated above and play it at the start of 2015 and again at the start of 2016. MOS being very close is IMHO incorrect. I do not believe the team progressed in 2015 but rather regressed with MOS as the HC. If striving for average and below average is your end game that yes keep Walters and MOS around. Just NOT my idea of success.
  11. I have read all the posts both pro and con and really don't have an answer. I however, know one thing - the season ticket count for 2016 will tell us whether the decisions that need to be made shortly will be correct or not. I really don't want to blow up the entire management structure and start over again, but on the other hand what has happened since Wade Miller has taken over is not all that good, at least IMHO. Unless something changes that will put the 20-25 K season ticket holder into the stands this team is going to be in trouble. I don't know what the financial stability of the franchise happens to be, but how long can they continue to generate the revenue to stay viable given their record over the past 4-5 years? Reading all the posts on this site and others this year and seeing the results on the field over the past 4 or 5 years leaves me with some significant doubts regarding current engagement. I can only say that living in Calgary I have always made a point of getting to Winnipeg for at least 2 games a year and every game that the Bombers played had me in front of my TV when not in the Peg. This year that did not happen. I taped all the games and watched a few. Next year I doubt I will take the time to head back to the Peg for any games. And I have been bleeding Blue and Gold since 1981!
  12. Ok for the uninformed! What is TEP? Is it a site Ok for the uninformed - what is TEP? Is that a CFL site somewhere?
  13. It's a shame but can not argue the point. I go way back to Total-CFL days when Mookie (Colin) use to post over there and then started up OurBombers. Just about everyone that use to post there has left for one reason or another. I am not sure who the mod is that everyone was referring to above as I really don't know the moderators by handle or name etc. The only good banning I supported was Nasty Nate (who has found a home over on the Riderfans.com site and uses any excuse to complain about anything related to the Bombers). I actually found this site by accident and now post here as everyone else I remember seems to be here.
  14. Very very sorry to hear this. Rich and I use to cross swords on the old Total-CFL days (back when there was really only 1 or 2 CFL Fan Forums). I had followed what happened from a distance and am very sorry to hear the news. RIP "Third Down" you will be missed greatly!
  15. Cutler is a coach killer. Even when he plays well he just gives off negative vibes all the time. All the tools to be a great one. But that's his problem, he has all the tools but he's also one himself. Always either pissed off or indifferent. Not a leader by any stretch of the word. How can you win with a player like that? He'll get the next HC in Chicago fired as well. Agree 100% Cutler is a major tool! Has all the talent but has a head issue IMHO. From what I read on the Bears Forum he does not spend the time in the film room, nor spend the time in prep. And true he always seems either pissed off or indifferent - but when you have a $50M guarantee on your contract -why worry? - Best thing the Bears could do is to find someone foolish enough to absorb at least part of his contract and get him out of Chicago.
  16. Yeah, we'll have to see what happens. Isn't it amazing that it seems the only team who never has this problem are the Riders? Yet they have more veterans & are an older team across the board so they're payroll should be bigger than the Ti Cats. Actually the Riders had this very problem last season when they lost several players because of cap issues. Craig Butler being a big name that comes to mind. I knew there was something I liked about you - I also have a Dieter Brock jersey I wear to most Stamp games. My best buddy and I both have season tickets in the Super Reds and he sits with his Stamps Jersey (Dave Sapunjis) and me with my Dieter Brock jersey and both of us enjoy all the comments and looks we get!
  17. Fantastic News! Always great to hear someone beat the Big "C" - almost as much fun as beating the Riders! Actually More Fun! Welcome Back!
  18. Here's the deal - Wally will fix his problem, not sure the Bomber Brain Trust can do the same!
  19. It is interesting to follow the various sites. My first site was the old Total-CFL when guys like Mookie (Colin Unger) and lots of others (the guys that started the Stampeder and Rider Fans along with GWN and Nanook come to mind) were just getting their feet wet. It is great to see some of the old posters (from Colin's site) over here now. I also remember Rich as I know some of the older longer term posters here had remarked about him. I had the chance to meet Rich a long time ago in Vancouver when I was staying at the Westin and the Grey Cup was in town. In any event great to see some of the old names again (even if they are not really old!)
  20. I am sort of new over here - what split are you referring to? I am still over on Our Bombers and sort of found this site by accident. Our Bombers appears to be on the downside at the moment just not sure why. I still post over on the Blue Bomber Forum but find this one a little more balanced.
  21. Yeah for those of us that lurk (even post there) it is about the only site that Nasty has not been banned from. However I think their patience is wearing thin over there. Nasty will take a post orientated toward a Rider issue and turn it around into a bash on the Bombers. His prattle even for Rider Fans is getting a little thin!
