  1. Mookie! Great seeing you here. I pop in when I can. Work travel keeps me out of Canada more than I would like. Miss the "Our Bombers" days. I always wonder where Nasty Nate ended up. I even pop over to Total CFL every so often. That was where I first ran across you. Long time ago!😀
  2. This is exactly how I see it. Collaros needs to play error free ball. If he gets into trouble there is a good sideline to throw the ball to. Trying to make something out of nothing will lose us the game. If he has a good error free game we win. If the opposite happens we will not win.
  3. Yeah back in those days my office was just off Colony Street (by the Bay) and I had to park several blocks away. One of the best memories I have is standing by the Bay on the one side and watching the Bomber Grey Cup Team parade back in 1984. Very cold that day but I hung in for the whole parade.
  4. And on this I have to agree with Bluto - I moved from Dallas to Winnipeg in 1981 (better half is from the Peg). My office was just off Portage and Main and I suffered!! I thought it could not get any worse until I had to spend a week in Toronto in Feb - downtown staying at the Westin (right by the harbor) and walking up to the client about 5 blocks away. I have never been colder even with my walks to my office in the Peg. The wind and dampness and cold just got to me no matter how warm I dressed. Never forget it!
  5. I want to see the Argo's in the cup for two reasons - 1)This will help the season ticket count in Toronto for the Argos and 2) Bombers will prove once and for all they are the better team.
  6. I really do not see Calgary winning in BC - but stranger things have happened. I would believe that a BC win will happen and the Bombers need to put the pedal to the metal on Saturday and win. I would not like to have to go into Calgary the following week needing the win to secure home field advantage and a bye into the Western Final. Calgary will be playing all out to secure a play off spot given that the Riders should lose to the Argos this week.
  7. lots of good comments on this one. I was only able to watch the first quarter and then had to tape the rest which I will watch today sometime. When I had to turn off the game (damn Bridge Night and my wife was threating me with her Darth Vader Death Look) the Bombers did not look all that good. Glad to now learn about the win in OT and will watch the game tonight.
  8. I agree with your comments. BC Defensive Line is a little on the light side. I think we can run against them and should be able to wear them down as the game progresses. I think the key to the game is to keep our offense on the field and the BC offense off the field. However when the BC offense is on the field I think it is time for both Jefferson and Jeffcoat to show up. Both have not been all that impressive the past few games at least IMHO.
  9. This is my opinion also. The win did not prove much other than what TBurgress indicated. Next week will be where the rubber meets the road. If we win I think we are well along our way to another cup appearance. If not then we probably will host the WSF and probably play the Riders.
  10. Amen I agree with Noeller - just win today and worry about BC after that - one game at a time. Note disclaimer - this is the second time I have agreed with Noeller this week - a new record!😀
  11. I just want a win to keep up with the Lions. And I would love to see the Riders win in BC but I think that is a lost cause. I think we will win and if only by a FG than who cares? It is the Lion game next up that will be the acid test IMHO.
  12. I see this game as sort of a no win for the Bombers regardless of what happens. If the Bombers win it is due to the fact that the Argos did not play their "A" team as they want to rest starters etc. etc. - If the Bombers lose there will be tons of questions . IMHO the Bombers need to win just to stay in first and continue to fight for home field advantage for the WF or WSF etc. Nothing else matters!
  13. I sort of have to agree with Noeller here (cough cough cough) - and I seldom agree with Noeller. I think the Argos could get sharpshooted in the Eastern Final. Just think they are on cruise control and it will be hard to put the pedal to the metal when it counts.
  14. Got to agree with most of the comments on the Elks and Ford in particular. I think Edmonton is slowly but steadly building a competative team. Maybe not this year but next year if they keep the progress going they will definately be in the hunt. The Riders?? Not so much! Lots of changes needed in Rider Land at least IMHO.
  15. I agree with TBurgess - we should win but not by the blowout others are predicting. I think it will be a good game and provided we do not make as many silly mistakes as we seem to want to make - we win by 10points or or more.
  16. Amen!! I agree with Noeller (which is not always the case). This years addition of the Bombers terrifies me each and every week - Never know who's going to show up and whether or not we figure out a way to self destruct or pull out a big win. Against the Riders (as much as most folks hate them) we need all hands on board and keep the screw ups to a minimum.
  17. I realize there are a lot of comments regarding the game, the headbutt on Zack etc. However I wanted to first of all thank the folks that took my gang to the game in Regina (we came in from Calgary - stayed in Moosejaw). We had great seats with a bunch of long term Rider Season Ticket Holders. Very knowledgeable regarding CFL football and of course all were Rider fans. However they welcomed us Bomber fans with open arms and shared a few cold ones along with lots of good natured banter back and forth. The stadium (this is my second Labor Day Classic) is very nice. The food was good (for stadium grub). We had a big BBQ pregame so all I had was a few cold ones). Bottom line IMHO fans are fans everywhere and most if not just about all are good people regardless of the team they support. Now on to the Banjo Bowl and here is hoping the Bombers lay a 50 point smackdown on the Riders!! PS I tried to get my boss (wifey) to let me drive to the Peg for the Banjo Bowl but I guess I overextended my allowance at the Casino in Moosejaw😩
  18. Take it easy on Bluto! Great to see him posting hear and also the CFL needs more Argo Fans like Bluto! I agree Bluto - I am looking forward to the Argo game against my Bombers - Just to see who might be Number 1!! And I for one am glad that the Argos have a good QB. The CFL needs all the help it can get and a good Argo team is good for all the league.
  19. not going to quite agree with your last statment. I think we have a shot at first but it will not be easy. I think we will split with the Riders and still have some tough games left. I agree that the Lions are somewhat over hyped at times. Still we have a lot of work to do in order to finish first. Cautiously optimistic would be the best option IMHO.
  20. I hear you - just checking in one more time before I head out to the game. We do a pre game lunch at BigT's BBQ and then head to the game. We go to the one in Mahogny vs by the stadium and then hustle to the game. Raining at the moment so everyone has their rain gear. Will be an interesting game if the field gets a little wet.
  21. Got to agree with most of the comments - we should come out of this with a victory as long as we do not take Edmonton lightly. And after the Ottawa fisaco I do not think we will take Edmonton lightly - Or at the least I hope so!
  22. I agree with your comments - you have two plays to get two yards with the defense 1 yrd off the LOS. Run it plain and simple at least IMHO.
  23. I agree with your assessment however I might put SASK ahead of Hamilton. I think the Riders will win a few more games that Hamilton if they can fill a few holes on both sides of the ball. As for Edmonton why not chuck Jone's now (pay the costs) and get someone in that can at the least get the fans in Edmonton back in the stands?
  24. Hamilton Defense is normally good. However as others have stated BLM may be past his best before date.
  25. Can not help but agree - however even given Friday so to speak!! It may be closer than most folks think.
