I missed this story from last September: Pronghorn Sighting A First In Over A Hundred Years Published: Saturday, 21 September 2019 12:00 Written by Ryan Funk Many have spotted a rarity here in Southern Manitoba, a one in a million sighting of a pronghorn. Pronghorns are ungulates (mammals with hooves) that spread across Western and Central North America. Here in Canada, their primary range is southwestern Saskatchewan, southeastern Alberta, and occasionally southwestern Manitoba. The first sightings of a potentially individual male were in mid-June by Kaleida south of Manitou, the latest sightings were in the same area as of September fifth. Although not confirmed as the same individual a pronghorn was also spotted north of Winkler. According to Derek Bobbie Conservation Officer and Manitou District Supervisor, when speaking to farmers in the area, it's been over a hundred years since the last pronghorn sighting in the region. https://discoverwestman.com/local/pronghorn-sighting-a-first-in-over-a-hundred-years

Guys like Hufnagel, Hervey & others have to bite the bullet. Not fair they draw such large salaries that even with a 30% pay cut they still make $300=400,000 a year while the videographer or an assistant coach on their teams making thousands less are let go. Bite the bullet. Total BS with upper management being overpaid.

  3. Yeah but since they dont fine teams for going over the cap they can give him whatever he wants. And since its Montreal the other 8 teams will end up floating the bill anyways.
    3 points
  4. You certainly can if you tie the cap to revenue, like in the NHL. The teams would have to manage themselves in that scenario. That would mean that CFL players would take a much bigger risk though without guaranteed contracts and shaky finances of some of the teams. I find it difficult to support the league cutting coaches and their salaries when they let some teams go over the cap unpunished.

Fox News Stars Push Shake Shack Cop Poisoning Claim Even After NYPD Debunked It The NYPD said a “thorough” investigation found no criminality, but that hasn’t stopped several Fox News personalities from continuing to push an anti-cop murder narrative online. Several Fox News stars have continued to peddle the claim that Shake Shack employees “intentionally poisoned” the milkshakes of three New York police officers, even after the New York Police Department found there was “no criminality” by employees. Late Monday evening, several police unions claimed the officers had been briefly hospitalized after noticing a substance in their drinks, suggesting that bleach was deliberately placed in the shakes by employees due to the currently tense national mood around policing. The Detectives' Endowment Association declared the officers were “intentionally poisoned” while the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association fired off a breathless statement claiming its members were under attack. “When NYC police officers cannot even take meal without coming under attack, it is clear that environment in which we work has deteriorated to a critical level,” the PBA’s official account tweeted. “We cannot afford to let our guard down for even a moment.” The story was quickly picked up by multiple news outlets overnight, with many headlines based largely on the police unions’ narrative. Fox News @ Night ran a news segment on the alleged poisoning, complete with coverage from the scene, pointing out it was an evolving report. Noting that the unions framed this as a “blatant attack” on the officers, reporter Alex Hogan wrapped up her report by pointing out the cops were expected to be fine but that this is a “very scary situation for all of them.” “Please let us know as you get more facts and information on that,” anchor Shannon Bream replied. Conservative media personalities called for the Shake Shack employees to be charged with attempted murder and tied the incident directly to widespread protests stemming from the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd. Early Tuesday morning, however, NYPD Detective Chief Rodney Harrison released a statement that, after a “thorough” investigation, the department determined that there was no criminality. Investigators believe that a cleaning solution hadn’t been fully cleared from the shake machine, causing some to be included in the officers’ drinks. (The credibilty gap continues to widen between Fox news, police, and the truth)

I'd be pretty choked to see this after CFL 2.0 just did the 'world tour' and now you need to scout in several countries... AND seeing more positions hired in the CFL execs for the globals... A 20% cut in staffing is not a viable growth move in any industry - especially one competing to even be noticed - I'm not against CFL 2.0 but expanding into a new market while you're bleeding in your current one is a terrible idea

  12. Antifa ain't the problem. Police detain armed militia members after man is shot at Albuquerque protest By Katie Shepherd June 16, 2020 at 4:42 a.m. CDT Protesters in Albuquerque wrapped a chain around the neck of a bronze statue and began tugging, chanting “Tear it down,” shortly before sunset on Monday. Their efforts to pull down a monument of Spanish conquistador Juan de Oñate suddenly stopped as four shots rang out. Most people instinctively turned toward the noise, videos from the scene show. A few screamed. Just yards away, a group of militia men sporting militarylike garb and carrying semiautomatic rifles formed a protective circle around the gunman. The gunshots, which left one man in critical but stable condition, have set off a cascade of public outcry denouncing the unregulated militia’s presence and the shooting, although police have yet to announce an arrest or describe exactly what happened. The victim is also unidentified. “The heavily armed individuals who flaunted themselves at the protest, calling themselves a ‘civil guard,’ were there for one reason: To menace protesters, to present an unsanctioned show of unregulated force,” New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) said in a statement. “To menace the people of New Mexico with weaponry — with an implicit threat of violence — is on its face unacceptable; that violence did indeed occur is unspeakable.” ..... On Facebook, the group has shared materials encouraging people to arm themselves, promoted military training on infantry tactics and “ambushing,” and shared multiple posts opposing the leveling of monuments to Confederate figures in the South and Oñate in New Mexico. Members of the group recently told the Eastern New Mexico News their aim was to protect businesses from damage during protests. They claimed they had been in contact with police and were following guidance given to them by officials. Militias like the New Mexico Civil Guard and other armed, far-right counterprotesters have been a controversial presence at Black Lives Matter protests across the United States. At an Albuquerque protest earlier this month, video of police talking to an armed militia group spurred allegations that officers were coordinating with the group in an official capacity, although police denied the claim. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/06/16/albuquerque-militia-shooting-protest/

  19. I'll just say this you can't tell the players they need to have a cap and then have team spend what ever they want on coaches/player personnel . Plus coach and player personnel are getting paid right now. Add to the fact their contracts are guaranteed unlike players.

Yes, I heard that briefing this morning and the fake president, at certain times, had difficulty finding the right words to complete a sentence, hence, the aids reference. However, I’m not sure, at all, if he knows what is true and that he just spews out whatever comes to mind..like that statement, once again, that the virus will “go away”...which is something we all wish he would do.

Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas See Record Number of New Coronavirus Cases Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas reported record numbers of new coronavirus cases on Tuesday. Arizona saw an increase of 2,392 cases since Monday, while Florida saw a bump of 2,783 new cases, Oklahoma reported 228 new cases and Texas had 2,622 new cases. Texas, following another concerning trend, has reported a record number of hospitalizations for the fourth straight day Tuesday, marking 2,326 hospitalized coronavirus patients in the state. The upward case trend across several states comes as all 50 states work to ease restrictions. Florida crossed the 80,000 case mark Tuesday, while Arizona’s weekly average of daily cases has nearly tripled compared to two weeks ago. President Donald Trump is set to host a campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this week, despite the spike in cases. Vice President Mike Pence lied about Oklahoma’s coronavirus data on Tuesday and said that the campaign will be taking some safety precautions, including temperature checks. https://www.thedailybeast.com/arizona-florida-oklahoma-see-record-number-of-new-coronavirus-cases

Prosecutor who quit Roger Stone case because of Trump and Barr’s interference to testify in House Judiciary hearing S.J. Zelinsky was among the U.S. Department of Justice prosecutors who quit the Roger Stone case in February in response to interference from President Donald Trump. And Zelinsky, according to New York Times reporters Mattathias Schwartz and Charlie Savage, has agreed to testify about Stone’s case and interference from Trump and Attorney General William Barr next week on Wednesday, June 24 before the House Judiciary Committee. House Democrats subpoenaed Zelinsky and another DOJ official, John W. Elias, who has also agreed to testify at the hearing. But one person who has refused to testify is Barr, and Rep. Jerrold Nadler — the New York Democrat who chairs the House Judiciary Committee — slammed him for it in an official statement. https://www.alternet.org/2020/06/prosecutor-who-quit-roger-stone-case-because-of-trump-and-barrs-interference-to-testify-in-house-judiciary-hearing/

A cheap and widely available drug called dexamethasone can help save the lives of patients who are seriously ill with coronavirus.Lead researcher Prof Martin Landray says the findings suggest that for every eight patients needing ventilators that you treat, you could save one life.In patients on oxygen, you save one life for every 20-25 or so treated with the drug.UK experts say the low-dose steroid treatment is major breakthrough in the fight against the deadly virus. It cut the risk of death by a third for patients on ventilators. For those on oxygen, it cut deaths by a fifth. The drug is part of the world's biggest trial testing existing treatments to see if they also work for coronavirus.https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53061281?at_custom3=%40BBCBreaking&at_custom1=[post+type]&at_custom2=twitter&at_custom4=1377F182-AFC9-11EA-923C-49043A982C1E&at_campaign=64&at_medium=custom7

the electoral college makes this more complicated than it looks. There's more dems but they are clustered in cities. Clinton had a four-point popular vote win and still lost in the electoral college because she ran up the score in places like California and New York and lost the midwest by a few tens of thousands of votes. Basically, land gets to vote for president, and land generally votes GOP. I feel okay about Biden's chances, but damn Trump pulled a rabbit out of his hat the first time and the vote suppression machine is revved up and with corona chaos and a massive surge in absentee ballots and a democratic nominee who doesn't inspire a lot of passion and the massive surprise of 2016 still hanging in the air ... everything is uncertain.
