  4. Man i forgot about Ken Pleon. I probably mentioned this previously but I grew up in Des Moines Iowa and delivered papers for the Des Moines Register. If we sold enough papers (subscriptions etc.) we got free tickets and a bus ride to Iowa City to see the Hawkeyes play. That would be in the late 1957's as we moved to Dallas early 1960's. Ken was the Iowa QB and I can remember him to this day. Even now (I am in my 70's) I still remember those trips to Iowa City and the the Hawkeye teams from those days. He had long retired when I ended up in the Peg in 1981 but I still remember him on CJOB back in those days.

As a Bomber fan, it sure sucked to see Don Jonas in a Ti Cat uniform. Don was so dejected by that trade that he retired right after the 74 season. He just didn't want to play anymore. He wanted to retire a Blue Bomber & he finally got his wish in 2017. Then Blue Bomber GM Earl Lunsford could be a prick if he had issues with any of his players. The way he did with Jonas at the end in Winnipeg.

  11. Winnipeg Blue Bomber Defensive back Bud Grant (#78) & an unidentified teammate attempt to knock down a pass intended for Hamilton Tiger Cats Offensive End Jack Logan (#73) during the 1953 Grey Cup played on November 28th at Varsity Stadium in Toronto. The Ti Cats defeated the Bombers 12-6 that day. Meanwhile, the pressing question on their minds were, "Is there too much passing & if so, is it still football?" Survey says, No & Yes.

  13. He sure is making a case for it. Wheeler should also get some consideration for taking a Buff shot square to the boys and coming back to play. Ahhh warrior. :)

  15. And trump wants to fire the fed chairman which he probably can’t do. As stock markets tumble. Fear of impending economic slowdown. Walls are really closing in.

  17. Is it? I never said he played bad saving shots and being in position. It is starting to be an issue when he goes behind the net to play the puck. He needs to work on it and get better or stop playing the puck.

  19. Gordon can’t play in the CFL unless he is reinstated by the NFL...so basically no chance he ends up in Canada.

Buddy Tinsley (left) & Hamilton's Steve Oneschuk shake hands just prior to kickoff of the 1957 Grey Cup at Varsity Stadium in Toronto. The Head Referee is Paul Dojack. Just look at Tinsley's pants. Very interesting.
