  1. Sunday, CBC, SN at 7:00 p.m. Tagline: "Carrie Underwood vs Chris Jericho" Storyline: After "stealing" home ice advantage (editor's note: the "stole the game" narrative is up for debate, IMO), the Jets try to double their all-time second round wins total and take a sizeable advantage back home. Quote: “I don't feel as overwhelmed as the stats will tell me I should at all.....They put an awful lot of pucks to the net from all over the ice. I’m not worried about those stats. There certainly weren’t a lot of odd-man rushes or things like that of a real high-risk nature" - Paul Maurice after the game, on the idea that the lopsided shot totals suggested that the Jets were dominated all night. Quote #2: “If I’m being honest, that’s the best game we’ve probably played in the playoffs. The bounces didn’t go our way and that’s one we’re okay [with]. There’s no question how well we played tonight. We’re fine in here. That’s probably the best I’ve felt being minus-3 in a game.” - PK Subban Fun fact: Rinne vs Hellebuyck is the first meeting between two Vezina finalists in the playoffs since Tim Thomas vs. Roberto Luongo in the 2011 Cup Finals. Fun fact #2: Nashville is 0-8 in their playoff history when losing game 1.

  2. Nashville's game plan, fire pucks crash net get rebounds, 2 out of those 3 happened last night so they lost the game, Jets game plan let them take low percentage shot smark and box out your man clear puck and capitalize on chances, all of that happened and the Jets won.

  4. Lots of perimeter shots by the Predators, crashing the net looking for rebounds that we not there, Jets capitalized on their chances, not a great game by the jets but who cares ask any coach do you want your team to have a great game or a win? As O dog said on TSN after the game Scheifele is an elite superstar and if he was playing in a big market (Toronto) the whole world would know it.

  5. I like this fun fact. Lets beat them in game two and learn from the Bluejackets in coming home up two to zip.

I would agree wirh that if it was either just a show or a show with some progress. But it was a paid commercial for how great Saudi Arabia is. They get the tv shows. So if women had been on the show even in full gear, that’s progress. If Balor has a rainbow on his tights and isn’t beheaded, that’s progress. If Steph is there in her corporate role, that’s progress. A show subject to all the negatives of Saudi but pretending and hard shilling how great it is, that just isn’t progress. Now if next year they have women because of this year, that’s progress. But if it takes ten years I don’t buy it. It was a political advertisement. Period. Saudi knows they are behind the majority of the world. So this isn’t like they couldn’t just let women appear. Or even have women backstage. Or even allowing Zayn to be there. Or not hassling Heyman. Etc there was no progress yesterday. At all. And worse, they paid a big American company to tell the world that there was progress.

I read that the plan is to move Corbett inside.

  10. Browns pick T. Auston Corbett #33 overall. I'm guessing that even though Gray is a Guard, this could still impact his status.

  11. Jets show so much consistency when it comes to preparation for these big games. So far I feel it’s been pretty easy to see right away when they’re ‘on’, like their speed and how quickly they contest every puck. The one loss in round one they were slow and fighting the puck all night, and that was after being cooped up in an airplane all day less than 24 hours before. The goal post sure helped hold the lead but like Wheeler said, it happened to both teams last night. Jets executed a sound game plan to near perfection and created their own puck luck.

I'd have no issue going out there since I am able to make decisions, try on clothes at stores, go for a swim, compete in sports, not have to cover myself in a black abaya, retain custody of my child if for some reason i married and got divorced over there, get plastic surgery, travel, open a bank account and I'd have more rights then a robot head. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/kidspost/saudi-arabia-grants-robot-rights-that-women-there-dont-have/2017/11/01/e4a532b8-ba91-11e7-be94-fabb0f1e9ffb_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.86927dc344d0 My wife wouldn't really like visiting though since she can't do any of the above and much more...

A professional wrestling card will help to change thousands of years of Saudi society? Come on, man. that is just plain stupid. (Not you but your entire argument). You just dig deeper with every post you make on this subject.

I don't think the WWE should be "crapped" on for selling out. Tonnes of big time celebrities / singers sell out to dictators and very bad people in the past and nobody crapped on them for taking an easy pay cheque. I just find it funny that Goalie tried to justify WWE for doing it and made him/herself look like a schmuck for trying to suggest that it's ok since everyone is entitled to their opinion excuse.

When it comes to Human Rights abuses no one should turn a blind eye & say it's okay because that's their way of life. I'm also saying the WWE should have stayed away. How many little kids, girls & women are wrestling fans? I guess they don't mean much to Vince & the Board. People are dying in prisons in Saudi Arabia everyday. Women's rights are being trampled. Girls can't go to school. But that's okay with you??? I was at work. Didn't see it. Will not watch any replays.

  21. Beating the Sharks in the conference semis is basically a rite of passage for an NHL team. Sharks have been in 11 conference semis and have lost eight of them. They are really not good at this playoff thing.

    NFL Draft

Im not a fan. I think he plays far too upright. He may well be a good back for a few years. I cant see him being a franchise back in terms of quality of play or longevity. Sure this draft had no sure fire no1 pick. But imo a big back who plays like a small back isnt some thing you take in the top 5-10 short of a horrible draft year. I like mayfield too. I think he is the 3rd best qb prospect in the draft though. Im not as much worried about his size, as I am about him playing in front of a team fielded by the browns. Dude is gonna get rocked, and imop doesnt deal with getting hit/pressured frequently very well. In many cases I think its ok to put a rookie qb in as starter right away. BUT you gotta have atleast 1 wr who can make plays for him, a decent running game to take pressure off him and a OL that will take a drive killing penalty before letting him get smashed. I dont think the browns have all that. I hope he sits too. I love the fire in his gut. I had rosen and allen as better players/prospects im also not a fan of darnold at all. I dont think he is fast enough to frequently beat pressure at the nfl level, or good enough to operate with in the lines of a system. I think he has been hit far too much already and doesnt protect the ball for stink. A running qb who loses a lot of fumbles and throws a lot of pics is a recipe for disaster. His delivery is soo bloody slow and janky I dont think he can beat the rush with his release at all either. If he and allen switched schools and production, allen would go no1 and darnold would have gone in the 5th round. Agree about Rbs. To be a top 3 pick as a rb you gotta be special these days. And complete. totally think the browns should have traded down too. Baseball uses 3 days to get through 50 rounds. But then the nba spends 10 hours to do one round. Idk id like to see drafts become much quicker paced and then just have a long post show to talk about pics.

  25. ^^^^ SO looking forward to the Freddie Mercury film! Things are spinning fast with Star Trek. with reports that Paramount has tapped SJ Clarkson to direct the next film. She'd be the first female director of a Trek movie. She does mostly TV work so its an interesting choice. Also, the next film looks to be the one JJ announced during the Beyond premiere with Chris Hemsworth back as George Kirk. But Paramount is also in the script stage for another Trek film based on a Tarantino story. Its GOOD news if Paramount actually has two films in development because they waited too long between films when they re-launched Trek in 2009. Churn them out quickly. And it might make for a more cohesive story if Trek 4 ties into Trek 5 better than in the past. Interesting side note is, after STID, writer Bob Orci was tapped with writing and directing Trek 3. He wrote a story with JD Payne and Patrick McKay that would include Shatner & Nimoy and was something like, Kirk could fix things OR have everything he wanted...something like that, sacrifice etc. Paramount rejected the script and Orci submitted a second one. It was also rejected and he was fired (and then went on a tirade on a Star Trek fan forum. So this idea of Hemsworth returning sort of sounds like it could have similar themes. And its being written by...Payne & McKay. So basically, they kept those guys and ditched Orci. I wonder if they will avoid any similarities to Orci ideas or if he might end up with a credit. When Simon Pegg & Doug Yung were brought in to clean up after Orci's departure and wrote Beyond, they claimed Paramount would not let them see or know anything about Orci's rejected stories. But Orci claimed some ideas DID make it into Beyond (he seemed annoyed by this as he should). Star Trek politics. lol Keep in mind, Discovery was prevented from doing anything until six months after Beyond was released. No word on if there are any other contractual considerations between Paramount and CBS as far as their two properties. If the Viacom merger goes through, Star Trek will finally be back under one roof (Currently, Paramount owns the movie side and CBS owns the TV side, hence no cohesive strategy between the two).

    Mini-camp info - April 24-26

I went yesterday to the afternoon camp. Didn’t stay for too long, but have a few notes that I took down. take it for what it’s worth First thing I saw when they were warming up I saw Demski and Lafrance catching one handed passss. Lafrance caught every pass one handed and made it look machine like. Made me think that Lafrance might be capable of catching passes out of the backfield pretty well, kind of like Harris as a utility - jack of all trades- back. For all the talk about Corey Washington, sure noticed that he wasn’t tracking the ball too well and dropped a couple easy passes. Seemed to settle in later in the practice but I noticed him in a bad way. Regardless, pretty big and seems to a polished route runner. Tyler Henry made a nice catch in tight coverage. Looked fairly impressive for a Canadian option, was he in camp last year? Coney is FAST and pretty illusive. Tony Stevens was the most impressive of the bunch in my opinion. sam brown got burned bad a couple of times. thats all I noticed, sorry I don’t have more to contribute. Oh and p.s was nice to see #1 Darvin adams just being around the team. Wasn’t competing but was throwing passes to some of the receivers when they were running drills. Dude has a hell of an arm
