Theres no way we dump Zach this year, even if Dru is lighting it up, we don't want to be one play away from being in the same position as Hamilton or Ottawa. I think Zach may be finished after this season, ride with Dru and Zach until the seasons end.

I think the concern will Alexander is that he's never going to be healthy.

ZC has been playing good football this year. He should start if he's 100 healthy. We should not rush him tho with a quality back up like Brown.

Fumbling Dru Brown for Jake Maier is an all time bone headed move. I’ve been un happy with us moving on from brown the moment it happened. The fact we get a second chance for a succession plan after Zach leaves gives me a lot of hope. The thought of potentially giving Terry Wilson the keys to the franchise was a scary thought.

We are in a situation now that we can err on the side of caution with Zac. If he's not totally 100 he should sit this week

Personally...I'd go with the hot hand and the more productive when both are 100 percent....like why wouldn't you in order to give best chance to win

Hammies are such a hard thing to keep healthy after you have a serious injury. Slow healing time and they can't be rushed even a little. I'm sure the Als won't risk his season if he is not 100%.

Or we could just earn a GC. I personally prefer a competitive league.

To my eyes, Elgersma with as little exposure as he has had, has looked better than either Maier or Dolegala.

0%... A clearly injured Zach but he might be able to limp through it would be maybe a 25% chance Brown would get the start. Ego... He is rightly taking a lot of heat for that decision and he needs to justify it because Maier sure as **** isn't doing it for him.

One has to wonder what the motivation was for Ryan Dinwiddie to say publicly that he felt Brown didn't have the arm strength to push the ball downfield verically? In what dimension or world that he lives in, did he think a comment like that wouldn't come back to bite him at some point? When a coach says that about one of his qbs that he got rid of, well that's akin to a personal attack. Qbs are generally defined by their arm strength. When a coach says his qb can "make all the throws" or he's a "gunslinger" that's about as complimentary as it gets.

yup...no reason to rush him back now...at any point in season...What's 1 more game to be sure he's good? It also get's Dru more acclimated and in sync with everything, so if and when ZC gets back to starting...and goes down again....Brown is ready. If ZC gets back, and we scuffling and or he is playing poor....there should be zero reason for Osh to not make the switch in a game...He shouldn't worry about anything else other than getting the more productive guy on the field...its a luxury we now have that hasnt been here in a while....use it

If Zach is healthy, he starts. Full stop. But we definitely can afford to not rush him because Dru is legit.

Anyone else here think Davis Alexander's hamstring he came up lame on vs Calgary is gonna be a bigger deal than people think? Its the same hamstring he tore last season (3rd degree), may put him out a handful of games.

It shouldn't be up to ZC anyway....it should be due to being healthy, as well as what @kelownabomberfan said performance. If feelongs are hurt than you shouldn't be playing pro sports and what kind of teammate does that make you pouting? I'd give Dru this game soley to really get him up to speed as well as to make certain ZC is 100 percent. If the following week ZC is deemed ready, put him back...but if he is just meh...or looking like previous season and a half ZC then a quick hook should be made...Tome for Osh to be a HC and not a buddy and wanna be liked...team first...not bias If Brown lights it up big time this weekend...why yank him the following game tho?...what's the harm in going with the hot hand, and it also allows ZC to totally heal...or at the least, remain healthy. Not sure what you see Korn doing...he hasnt made a play or registered a stat yet...gets either blown off the line backwards or locked up and cant disengage Lawson tho has been stout and gets penetration and has made some plays, or had hand in a play being made The last 2 games we haven't been as chaotic in the substituting multiple guys every snap, so that has helped I think Agree that we could/should try Jenkins inside...he's powerful enough to fit there. And if thats not his niche we should be looking/bringin in some guys I think when Dixon is ready...with Lawson and Ceresna, WJ...Reese...Gatkouth thats 6 pretty versatile and interchangeable guys for multiple fronts, and hopefully Schemck heals sooner than later so we can bump Korn right outta town. But be ideal to find ourselves another true inside guy who can be effective and actually DA him and not waste that spot like we did last week...on a no snaps in game plug who offers zip on defence...no way he would have got a snap ahead of the other 7 LB's

It's become pretty clear that when he was in Toronto that Pinball was the firewall that protected Ryan Dinwiddie from himsellf. Now, that he has complete control in Ottawa, there's no Pinball to protect him. I mean, it's pretty evident that Sean Burke has one foot out the door already & was only kept around because of the Admin Cap. Dinwiddie doesn't report to him.

Surgery can probably fix it but if they went that route then Alexander's season is over. The problem is backup Dustin Crum isn't likely to get it done if he took over.

I'd actually prefer to see Dru get the start and have an opportunity to stick it to his old team and Dinwiddie. Certainly sounds like he has an axe to grind and some added motivation. I agree if ZC is close to 100% Osh is going with ZC

I know I sound like a broken record, but man we could use some of the old school 80's methodology here whereby Zach is given 3 or 4 series to do something, and then he's pulled and Brown goes in. No screwing around all game waiting for Zach to "warm up" if he's sucking crap. Just like when Huffer would come in when Clements wasn't getting it done.

Hendrix has stunk since the Argos didn't pay him the first time. Not a fan of Fletcher though. We need someone who can fire off and not get moved around so easily. But seems like we want to expand the Willie J basketball defense strategy rather than pressure and fill gaps. Much better run stopping the past few weeks with a lot more Kornelson and Lawson or 30 front with one of them head up on 1st downs. I'd honestly pop Jenkins inside because he just seems a little slower this year but has that explosive first step. Might be impactful.

You can be concussed with no head impact whatsoever... If your body is suddenly stopped with force...your brain doesn't stop, but slams into your skull with force and speed you were moving. Thats why the use of those foam helmet covers is pointless...unless you get a direct and sever head shot correct...or an actual head shot....momentum of brain moving inside skull and slamming around is the main culprit....a guy running and getting a totally clean shot to the chest with a shoulder, stopping him cold can get you concussed...even without head hitting turf when the guy hits the ground

Yep, there doesn't have to be any contact to the head (from the tackle or from him hitting the ground) for there to be a concussion.

We're all speculating but that makes sense that it could be that too. The video of the hit doesn't show his head hitting the ground at all, could be mild whiplash that may have trigger a concussion but who knows.

Not an expert but if you get hit unexpectedly from behind, your neck moves, your head is attached, you brain comes along for the ride and rattles in your skull. So yeah.

Yes. I heard or read somewhere that you can have concussions in/via your neck... So it's all connected.

Good to see we are not rushing ZC back out like years past. Let his neck heal up 100%. Brown against Ottawa is just too good of a CFL story to not happen.

Of all th new QB's the last 2..3 yrs Powell showed the most in limited time, and you could see from his games he knew what was going on...was cool and poised in pocket...could make all the throws...just needed reps...Kinda like how Dru looked with us after his 1st yr...Powell looked better actually his rookie yr Ford, thats not the ideal backup and his yrs now in league.....we seen his peak...not a smart move....Coulda had their Qb in waiting signed for same or similar money and be in a way better spot of they signed Ezequiel Powell...Thats his name correct? 😁 Desperate teams will make bad reades...or ones they would have gave less if circumstances were different....If they are really tanking and its cause they dont have a legit vet QB...Anything can happen....I'd start Dru this week too even if ZC was close...to see if the one game wasnt an abberation and if he just works here as a legit QB1....I have zero doubts in him just from the eye test last week watching him pre snap...then navigate the pocket and the ease and confidence in his throws....and his general calm demeanor ZC in same system looks almost always panicked and rushed....and at times his throws are from real bad mechanics and set up...cause he more worried about getting ball away in self preservation than letting things really develop
