  1. Milt isn't saying anything that fans haven't been saying for years. He's not making any call as he has no say in anything - just voicing his opinion which is his job as a panelist. People don't need to know all the details to know that repeated head trauma is not good and ZC has had more than his fair share.

  2. nah canadian college qb is not getting the call up after one season here, unless he throws for numbers that would make doug flutie blush. I think we all remember that time late in milts career when he was plastered over the middle and out old twitching on the field. then came two and jumped up but was clearly confused and wobbly. He played in a far worse era for player safety. He isn’t the guy to say some thing for clicks or throw out calls for retirement lightly. I understand what mos is trying to say, but I think all the needed info IS available. you have a qb who turns 39 in a couple weeks, who has been knocked out of games 3 times this year due to high hits, who hasn’t been 100% in about 2.5-3 years, and who has more concussion history than the entire rest of the west division. Not an exaggeration either. In grappling they say “every thing below the eyes is the neck”, in football especially for qbs/concussions every thing from the shoulders up is the head. if you get whacked in the neck, it jostles your brain. smashed with a clean hit in the shoulder pads, rattles the cage. So when you see a qb with concussion history’s head hit 3 times and once bounce off the turf, it’s a concussion issue. After concussions, every injury near the head causes issues. no such thing as close but didn’t cause issues at that point. Post concussion syndrome/ppcs is no joke.

  3. Imho all Milt is doing is offering his opinion up from a caring point of view. I think it's obvious that Milt is not intimate with the details, ZC is not obligated to listen to him but eyes don't lie in what ZC has endured over his career. I don't see how it's meant to hurt him or his family but that's just me.

  4. I'm thinking it's more Milt has strong care and concern for ZC's long-term health than getting his likes up but that's just my guess.

  5. Zach Collaros maybe needs to read Matt Dunigans book... specifically the first bit about how his career ended...

  6. Mos uncomfortable because people are calling out his MO and he can't just fall back on the wins and losses to justify it. Safe to save he's feeling the heat.

  7. So with Kyrie Wilson... I love him as a player. For years I called him the most underrated player in the league... but given his age and injury history he isn't the future... so why not work our Canadians who should be the future in there?

  8. yeah pretty sure Milt isnt in the get as many likes as I can game

  9. Nothing wrong with what Milt said. MOS makes a good point about Milt not knowing all the info.

  10. The biggest issue to me are both lines. Offensively, It's time for Stan to call it a career. Unless his play is as good or better than someone 10 years younger than he is he needs to retire. There's no way a Tackle approaching 40 can play as well as he did when he was 30. Kolo is a liability at Center. The next guy who can go. He can still be on the roster but as a depth player but not as a starter. He should be chained to the bench with a lock & key & someone drops his helmet in the Red River. Certainly, we know that there are veteran Centers out there available in free agency & we have to sign one of them. I think Neuf can still play but I'm on the fence with him. As has been said, he's one helluva tough player & we need that kind of nastiness out of our guys on the OL. Defensively, we have wasted Willie Jefferson over the past 3 years with the shitty Canadians that play beside him like Thomas. We've neutered what greatness he may have had early in his career with the Bombers when Nevis, Stove & Kongbo caused interior chaos on opposing OL's. Now, it may not be worth it anymore to keep him because of his age & salary after this season. What a bloody waste. The Bombers are the only team I know who deliberately weakened themselves defensively by never replacing someone like Stove, Nevis & Kongbo. Vaughters the same as he gets no help either. It's hard to criticize Vaughters & Jefferson when they have such dreadful Tackles beside them whether it's a 3 or 4 man front. Improve the DL & watch the linebackers & secondary flourish once more. And we'll shave at least 100 points off of our points against.

  11. These proposed changes are all based on the fact that the coaching staff actually acknowledges that there are issues... I don't see that happening. The OL is not changing the rest of the way unless someone gets injured.

  12. what sets him apart is 1, he’s the only lber worth a damn when it comes to pass rushing, and 2 he’s the only guy who can be a run stop mlb and can get back in pass cover. We love to blitz lbers and none of them are effective not just in pass rush but even in eating a block. Kyrie is capable in the run game if he’s not blocked. he can’t get off blocks or close gaps with linemen in them. jones would be the front runner for modp, if he was capable in pass D. he’s been in the area but just not getting deep enough because he has no coverage instincts or ability to read the qb/play. he’s great at scraping to the ball but that’s it. All he brings is the ability to run after ball carriers. thats good in the run game but not in coverage. And the cfl is a passing league. Lber is the least impactful position in the cfl, unless you have some monster like wynton. Which is why soo many teams are flipping the ratio at lber. it makes so much more sense to start a canadian at lber especially if they are athletic outliers. The roster impact you might lose in starting smith/shay, vs what you could get back 4 fold with adams/woods or lofton/4th imp ol. And for my money, shay/smith platooning with J jones you gain a lot. because you won’t have to hide a lber. and you don’t have to dress an imp db to play wil.

  13. Yeah osh has definitely said they're all starters.

  14. O'Shea's opinion is influenced by his ego and his dawning realization that the team is struggling to make the playoffs which will affect his reputation and whether he will be here next year. His conduct in the Drew Willy/Matt Nichols incident plus his handling of Collaros in the last Grey Cup game is a powerful indicator of how he functions.

  15. I agree with Milt... but O'Shea is also totally correct... can't possibly make that call definitively without knowing all the info...

  16. At some point the quality of the rest of his life has to come first. I’ve got a close family member dealing with severe post-concussion issues from an accident that happened a decade ago, he’ll probably never fully recover. People don’t realize the toll it takes and for how long after the fact.

  17. Milt is not wrong...ZC got his marbles scrambled last yr.....and 3 times this yr...when is enough enough...Sure may seem insignificant now, but 10 yrs...15...different story And to be honest...or penchant for playing hurt guys....not glowing in a positive way

  18. Yeah. He had a couple of stretches where he was the leagues MODP imo. But they never lasted, and always took time to get to. He's had 1 great and 1 good game this year. Arguably 2 great, but not a 3rd good game even. He's basically late stages lamar mcgriggs now. Great guy, tough as nails, smart, can still flash great games, but can't consistently play at that level any more and is limited in use. We'd be soo much better off running NI Lber, or even going NI at both and all imp on the DL with lawson to rotate. If we could have Jjones and the imp DL plus lawson our D would improve drastically at every thing.

  19. Kolo is on the ground for so much of the game it looks like he’s playing Nightcrawlers instead of football. I’d like to see how the guards do with a half decent C. Eli, Vibert, some American, whoever. That’s the swap that needs to be made before anything else. At least get someone there who isn’t physically dominated constantly, I can deal with the odd communication mishap or rookie mistake.

  20. Just cause osh is playing someone doesn't mean they better @wbbfan hit it on head about J.Jones...but his fate was sealed when T.Jones was reupped to a 2 yr deal and Wilson was brought back J.Jones is a legit multi tooled LB...and can also lay the lumber He meets a ball carrier in hole...not after they bust through...and he was exceptional at dropping into zone...and his pass rushing is as good as prime Biggie...if you have the ability go watch his play on his 7 sack season If anything he should be on instead of Ayers who we don't use effectively on defense...and he would also take a lot of reg reps on defense...he plays Mac and Wil....special teams...but hes backseat to incumbents We are wasting away the true impact of our top 2 picks this yr in Shay and Smith...bith more than capable of taking reps at will...and in role we had Griffin play...do people realize he is a 220 pound plus player...hes not a typical DB body Shay and Smith could easily fill role he played before we wised up and put him at sam...as well as collateral contribute at wil....they both have more athleticism and upside than the Canadian sask plays at wil...and that's because going Canadian there...corner and safety allows them to dress pretty much all import...impact dlinemen...and it shows...we pale in comparison

  21. One of J Jones attributes id being able to lay hard hits, Wilson and Jones tackle just as well but dont punish the ball carrier Something that we lack , against both Sask and Calgary they were much more physical

  22. Jones should be in the middle...Kyrie been last of issues on defence

  28. I don't need to, do you know how to evaluate film, understand front/techs, and run fits? Because it sounds like you watch without understanding how to watch and what's actually happening. Kyrie has had 1 good run-stopping game this year and 11 run stops all year. The D is funneled to Jones, and Kyrie only gets to run gaps if they happen right in front of him and he doesn't get picked up.

  35. It's a case when the team needs to know when, and who to move on from totally...and who is the best older option kept as depth A guy like Kyrie....perfect DA as a LB....Behind young upstart depth...Especially a Canadian in his spot He can play teams...and plays them well...can give you starter quality reps at Wil and Mac in game if injury occurs....and if Osh pulled his stubborn head out his arse would be ideal Naturalized Canadian and could come in for the Canadian who replaced him if they get hurt...etc yeah...you beat me to this comment about Cdn linebacker...We have the guys to do it...Makonzo if healthy as well has to be in that equation...
    2 points
  36. yeah if it's a mental oopsie daisy....or a rookie error....learnable and correctable When it's an issue of ability and just being over matched more than not, and not able to finish and maintain engagement...thats a different issue and time for change...I guess reason for change Osh said it best himself "you look at a guts film from years ago, and you can see what he's capable of" Thats just dumb....To think guys dont regress, or aren't capable of that anymore but relying on it...gets you what you see now Maybe look at film from yrs ago and say..."gimme a player who can replicate that|" there was oodles of top talent available too...and in the 3 main areas of need where we are majorly lacking to boot

  38. MOS didn’t sound too pleased with Milt on the coaches show yesterday. “I think he started off by saying that because of who it is, saying it, Milt Stegall, a lot of people listen. And I think because of that powerful voice, he should probably choose his words a lot more carefully than he did. You know, he's not qualified to make those decisions or he certainly doesn't know what's going on. And I'm not qualified either, right? But I have a little more insight into the situation, obviously. But you know, there's, when you make those pretty brash statements, you're, you know, and you make them quickly in the spur of the moment, you're not considering his family or his people that care about him when you make those statements, right? And I think a little more care and concern should have went in before, you know, announcing to the world and creating clickbait and getting your likes up.”

  39. Or done any thing of impact at all. If we had just gone into the market and replaced 1 of the top tier FAs we lost each of the last 3 years, our roster is miles better.

  45. I love strev, but you’re 100% right about crum. He has that resilient toughness and that find-a-way-to-win that brown has. I wouldn’t want to be depending on crum becoming a qb1, but i sure like him as a back up. And he's got tons of tread left.

  46. if your DT made a difference...or any minimal impact...it reverberates to the ends...and other DT...the teams who's ends eat...have a DT or nose who are collapsing the pocket...and sending the QB right into them When WJ...Jeffcoat....the Hansen Kingbo rotation was feasting and causing havoc...They had Nevis...Stove...Sayles....guys of that ilk causing issues inside

  48. It just feels like the Blue 3 seasons ago were able to physically beat up teams and roll in depth players to keep legs fresh and were able to out muscle teams which would then lead to the turnovers on D and far more holes for the run game + time in the pocket for Zach. I said the same thing last season around this time of the year, they haven't been able to dominate anything at all. This team has absolutely no edge and are limping along. We need fresh faces and a pulse badly.
