I always found that Laura Diakun did a good job hosting the panel whenever she needed to fill in for Kate. I think she would be a good replacement as long as she keeps doing what she's been doing and not try to change to match what Kate has been doing.

It's not her job to be knowledgeable. It's her job to facilitate discussion from the knowledgeable people. Unfortunately tsn subscribes to the American idea that a panel needs to be the entertainment and clowns are supposedly entertaining

The continued belief that we'd use a high pick on a QB just doesn't make any sense to . I get that it's probably one of the best years for Canadian QB's and that's ultra rare and a great story but I just don't see it happening.

True, game day shows need to set a tone and entertain. If any thing have the schtick on that rather than the game day panel. can’t stand Kate. Id love to see some of what lapo has been doing on his yt, and what we’ve seen teased by matty/milt previously. The in depth player / Xs n Os break downs. back in the day score or maybe sportsnet had a show with some cfl guys talking and being regular guys. I remember one with swac playing pool in particular. Can’t stand it idk it’s soo disjointed and repetitive. People seemed to be content 50 dollars paid the rent

I can't stress enough... The "over the top" thing Kate is doing... It's not her... It's the producers. They're telling her to lean into that because they think it works. I'm 99% sure if you met her IRL, she'd be super reserved and chill (most media people have to be so amped up to be on air, that when you're off air, you come WAY down, to the point of almost depressed). So all I'm saying is it's highly unlikely she's making this choice. It's TSN telling her to do it.

It's not that Kate thinks this or that.... It's just a gimmick that the producers are making her do. It's an act and they seem to think it's entertaining.

Kate is awful, actually antagonizes her own panel for some odd reason. She thinks she is the star of the panel and gets upset at them if she perceives they are upstaging her. Just weird really.

I'd love to see Holm out at Ford's spot...and a more physical guy like Parker or Griffin at half...Holm out at that corner spot may just get him an actual all-star consideration....he could be perfectly suited to bait and steal outside Yeah...he couls play it...but way more valuable up close to the action...He's be a lights out SAM....he just has that sense about him to be like a magnet to the play....great recognition and only expect him to be even better this yr....Him and Parker are our best DB's in terms of closing explosion and tackling.....we need them both on roster for sure....and I agree...secondary is a non issue...we solid...and deep...and are bringing in some legit prospects yeah...Oline...if Neuf is 100 percent outta the gate...and Stan just keeps being stan....and how Lofton actually came around I not too concerned there....Wallace and Eli are solid and likely battling for guard cause we know Osh has a boner for kolo....worst in league at his position and hate to wish injury...but get him knicked and insert Eli and then dont give it back...as the play/production will show the fact we were going with an inferior center Dline is my concern....moreso tho with who osh goes with....With Lawson back healthy...and up and comer in Samson and or a possible draft pick....there is no need for Thomas...who is at this point pointless and worthless and Schmeck whohas really not taken the next step....convert him to oline...We likley roster that kid we got from Mtl as well so cut bait with your bottom 2...3 Nationals as they also serve minimal purpose on ST's Adams and Woods need to play...get major reps and show/prove they belong....and are legit....or we need to find others....non-playing and shared reps with inferior Canadians does nothing for their development and also just pro-longs the search for a legit pair of interior guys if they not it...and we start from scratch again....we have done a piss poor job managing the dline and it shows big time...our strength has become our achilles heal...and should have never happened

Probably the least of my concerns is the secondary, I think we will be really strong there again. I don't see Griffen as a prototypical CFL safety though. I will freely admit I don't know enough about his abilities to qualify my opinion as anything more than a hunch though. I, too like what he might bring closer to the LOS though.

Hey, us guys over 50 have at least 5 numbers in our SIN. I agree. I watched a bunch of Lapo's youtube work last year and it was top notch. Some of the best actual football analysis I've seen. Gotta hand it to YT as well, one of the oldest platforms out there and they remain relevant even to teens.

Yeah..we seemed to have brought in a buttload off actual FS types...and from what it looks like Younger is doing/wanting is to actually have a free and strong safety set up I think Griffen is better served more in the fray and closer to the box..SAM and HB/Hybrid guy...lethal tackler...quick closer and just seems to recognize things fast....

I just sincerely hope these mocks end up being as nonsensical as they seem to be.... Not prioritizing OL/DL with early picks is a recipe for disaster.

If they want to improve the TSN panel then Kate has to go. She adds nothing to the discussion. She thinks trying to be funny will cover her lack of knowledge. It doesn't.

Probably have to wait till camp or later. I think it’ll come down to how Kelly and the rookie recruits play. We brought in a fistful of big imp career safeties with nfl experience. I think griffin either slides over to a starting db spot at half or S. I expect to see lots of guys in lots of different positions for camp and first pre season game. Gotta see how Parker shakes out and if he’s finally 100% who steps in at S and corner. But we got lots of bodies to fill spots imo.

I feel like this has been the CFL since maybe the 80s, but at least since the Rocket was in Toronto. The times since then that the league has been on point with the demo you target for growth are few and far between. Could you imagine if we did a demographics breakdown of MBB? 18-24, 0. 18-29, maybe 3. 30-50, 2690. Then 8 or so whose SIN numbers have less than 3 digits.

Yeah, Laura Diakin does a great job, Calm, professional & shows a basic knowledge of the game enough that she can direct conversations to the panelists for insighful answers. She doesn't go off half cocked like Kate does. She should replace Bierness as permanent host. You'd also think that the panel would move around & host one game from each CFL city. The biggest regular season CFL game is the Banjo Bowl & TSN has never been here once hosting it. Instead, they go to Hamilton for LD as well as an additional three or 4 times a year. They sit in the end zone of that dinky little Texas high school football stadium they have there. What's the over/under for the panel heading out to BC Place this season for another game with Kate yelling, "ROAD TRIP!!!"

Agree. I've only watched it a few times. It just isn't interesting. Just a lot of squawking especially from the linebackers & especially the mouthy dbs.

It's probably cuz I'm an extremely nervous hardcore Jet fan (my wife says its like watching a caged animal when I'm watching a Jets (Bombers) game) but this series has been extremely close if you look at each games first two periods. Where we seem to have the edge thus far is the third periods. Being selfish, I'd like us to extend this dominance to the first two periods.

The timing suggests Charbonneau may have made the decision himself, choosing to stick with his career or partner back East rather than report to TC. If they were not impressed with his progression they could have parted ways at the end of last season instead of protecting him over Owen Hubert who still wants to play.

Ol and Dl for me. Ol will be better than last year based on improved health alone. I am optimistic about the DL having Lawson back and adding Vaughters. If we could get a good Canadian who can play a 3-tech and end in limited reps out of the draft, that'd be excellent. The worry is, of course, that Jake is still here and might get the most reps. I don't want to see us give up on Adams, or Woods, or even Samson, because Jake gets the most reps again. I'm worried about QB, too. I think we have the assets in the draft and on the roster to make up for all our weaknesses. Though it will all come down to how the offence is run, and qbing. I like the direction in the coaching staff, and I believe in the talent of zach and Strevy. Their health and fit/usage is another thing, though. If Jake and Kola were off the roster tomorrow, my confidence in our roster would go up a lot.

Yeah, he would be ideal as a sam IMO. It would be a worthy consideration to move Kramdi, but I don't think we would ever entertain that. But having Griffen and Nichols as the halfs would be an incredible luxury. Holm might really excel at field corner too. They love his quick hips, and he has elite closing speed. He doesn't have the physicality, but he also doesn't sell out for hits he knows his limitations and wraps up.

It's a great draft for us to restock on mid roster and up Canadians. If we have another draft like last year we will be in good shape for years to come. I might consider a QB in this draft, but only in a likely transition to WR, while still being able to do the QB sneak duties. Senecal would be the ideal target for that IMO. That guy needs to have some streveler type heart and work ethic, willing to make him self a useful player on teams as well.

She still needs to be knowledgeable...and realize it's not about her at times...TSN can do better....If they just want her to bring up talking points...give her a few things and stick to that....and not extend it into the Kate comedy and variety hour show...as its just cring worthy and amateurish yup...deep draft with actual guys outside of the top picks who can actually play more than teams...and a few who likely end up best in class after the first round A pick of a QB early is a waste...and pointless...this desire or fascination of a "canadian" QB is just idiotic and pointless....Promote your top Canadians at whatever position they are playing....trying to make the Canadian QB "happen" is just a lesson in futility...pointless and doesn't serve any purpose whatsoever....Who cares where the QB is from...any player for that matter...Pic your top 22 Canadians...20 Americans and whatever globals we move forward with and play them accordingly where they are the best option and sort it out
