Fed Up Fan: $5 dollars to get rid of a ticket?

I am a little surprised that a season ticket holder would offer someone money to take his/her tickets off his/her hands. I understand this was a statement/protest/interesting way to vent but what happens when the Blue start winning? You cannot call yourself a 'fan' one minute and pull a stunt like this the next and then go back to being a fan when they win. The Bombers aren't trying to lose games and I am sure none of the coaches or managers are looking forward to the prospect of having to look for new jobs next season.

I will conceed thatthis has been a frustrating season much like the several previous seasons but all things considered the Blue have been playing better as of late.  If this defence can stay somewhat intact and Willy healthy next season I can see the Bomber's making the playoffs. I know that those are a lot of 'ifs' and the Blue's track record would give even a die hard little confidence that things will get better but I think this management team is learning from its mistakes  and things WILL get better from here on in.

What irkes me are fans that bail on their team during the down times for example, Blue Jay fans that were no where to be found until this playoff run that will likely see them get to the World Series this if not next year. it won't be long before the Bombers go on a string of successful seasons and playoff runs too!!

  • A real fan doesn't bring this kind of national negative attention on the club. Complete asshat in my books.

  • Don't care if we squeak into the playoffs with an under .500 record. Don't care if we don't end up with a fairy tale ending. Don't care if nothing much comes of it. Don't care if some of you are em

I absolutely hate that this $5 guy got his own thread because it is just feeding what he is seeking, attention. We are all fed up with losing. Some here do not see a problem with his actions...that

Typical Bandwagon jumper and just trying to get attention.  I also like the pic of the mouldy hot dog. When it happened he sent it out on Twitter and FB and blamed the Bombers and the Bomber organization for it when in fact the blame can only be put on the food supplier which I do believe is Aramark (Someone can correct me if I am wrong).  They were trying to use up product from the FIFA event and really shouldn't have.  It had no bearing on the Bombers at all.  Like Wade Miller is purposely selling old dogs to save a few pennies.

lol i just saw that on the noon ctv news,  should have donated tix to big brothers realistically.

as for hotdogs... i think the KC royals also had a thing about selling bad hotdogs either after game 1 of the alcs or sometime vs houston.  maybe thats just the way hotdogs are...

did the guy just rant, or did someone take him up on his offer, this city does not normally give anything away for free,

he gave a dude the printed off tickets and $5.00 in change on camera (looked like last night)  but sinclair mentioned after to donate tickets to big brothers/sisters

Video is there - guy says that he tried giving away tickets last time and people laughed at him and said they couldn't pay them to go to the game. The guy said he can't make the game (not that he didn't want to go to the game).

Well congrats to that guy... he got the 15 minutes of fame he so desired...

To some that's what counts.

Interesting form of commentary

I take back some of my criticisim of the guy because he has renewed his tickets for next season. However, he didn't have to embarass the club by posting this on Kijiji. I guess some might say they embarass themselves enough with their play!

Does this truly make the guy any less of a fan? Did he say he would not renew his tickets next year if he thought some positive moves were made in the off season? Good for him to make a statement.

Look at me!!!  I didn't get enough attention as a child!!!

When does Canadian Idol get to Winnipeg!!??

He didn't ask everyone on Facebook and the news to spot light him. I thinks its funny and good on him.

Any negativity should be directed to the club for fielding such bad teams year after year.

I created a thread a few months ago saying that people are tired and stopped caring about watching the team.

Can't blame the fans for getting tired. It's not a matter of being a true fan, its just human nature to be disgusted on watching a team regress continually and making the same mistakes year after year.

You would have to have Stockholm syndrome or mental issues if you are excited about going to a game purely for watching the product on the field at this point in time.

Oh goody.

Another thread where people can rant about "true fans".

The threads are so much fun.

Not something I would do, but I don't blame the guy - everyone deals with their frustrations differently. I'm doing things I never would've imagined doing before as a Bomber fan, they're just not as extreme.

I dunno...I'm still feeling like we're in a playoff spot at this moment, so **** anyone who wants to bring down the good vibes...

Playoff spot or not, I think we're kidding ourselves expecting some kind of fairy tale ending to our season. I can't see anything beyond a one game foray into the postseason and at that point, big deal. It doesn't help Drew Willy any, because he likely won't play. It doesn't give our offense any momentum going into next season, because we sure as **** better be starting from scratch anyways. Maybe it gives guys like Bass or Adams some playoff experience they can learn from on the D side of things, but aside from that, I don't see much coming from it.

Five wins & we're talking about a playoff spot? How exciting... We've won 2 games in our last 8... The team is spinning its wheels.  Same as last year. What the guy did is something I'd never do but it's a free country & he can get rid of his tickets any way he likes. Maybe the Bombers should field a decent team more than twice every 15 years.

National negative attention...........fans don't need to shout it out. Turn on TSN and people can watch and make their own assessment of the situation.

Any time you can make the playoffs whether deserved or you back in is a good thing, anything can happen even with this team.

Yeah great, with this team Miller will give MOS & Walters new contracts! We don't deserve the playoffs any more than the Riders.

Not sure there is a solution but in a pro league where it is possible for one of 3 teams with a potential final winning potential of .333 making the playoffs it is a bit of an embarrassment. Talk about rewarding futility.

So disenchanted with this season, that's about all I have to say  about the 2015 season. I'll give someone $5 to like this post. ;)
