I know MOS and others think Brohm gives us the best chance if Nichols goes down but why not give Davis (or anyone else for that matter) some game experience if Nichols can't go, knowing we are sitting at 4 and10 hanging by a thread, a very thin thin thread. In other words, put Brohm out of his misery, put some one on the roster that has, potentially, a future with us and let training camp for some start early. And yes I want to win the next four games, make the playoffs and win the Grey Cup, but remarkably for me, I'm looking at our existing situation realistically and practically for longer term benefits. They cant possibly cycle that many in and out do they? And even if they do, is it necessary? Or some sort of ingenious strategy? Legit curious... In years passed those backup Canadian receivers that seem to be missing from this roster would play on teams and be backups in case of injury. The Blue Bombers captured the first game in 2015 with 23-13 win over the Lions on Jul 30/15 on the strength of a 4-1 turnover advantage and a defence that held BC to just one TD drive despite 26 first downs. The Lions must therefore win this game by 11 points or more to take the season series via the tie-breaker. If the game ends up in a 10-point BC win, the situation would favour BC on the basis of a better divisional record. Jonathan Jennings: Threw 4 TD passes last week and became the 4th BC QB to ever do that in his first CFL season. Last week Edmonton at Winnipeg: The Bombers left 15 half points on the table in the final 37:55 of the game last week by missing FOUR field goals, a one-point convert (wide) and a two-point convert attempt (a 6-yard rushing loss). WPG Last week vs Edmonton: Despite missing several FG attempts, the Bombers offence really clicked against Edmonton over the final 30:42 of the game. After 5 straight two-and-outs to open the game, Winnipeg put together 314 yards offence in little more than half a game to close it creating 6 scoring opportunities (TD or FG attempt) in their last 7 drives. Last week Rene Paredes and Sean Whyte made game-winning, last play field goals clinching playoff spots for their club. The 2015 season has been the year of the game-winning FG, particularly when they have come in the final 3:00 of the game. BC’s Richie Leone has missed only once in the 4thr Quarter all season while Lirim Hajrullahu is 6-of-10 in the final 15:00 of games. Andrew Harris 100 yards: The Lions starting RB led the CFL in rushing as of Week #15 after gaining 100 yards on just 13 carries vs the Riders. It was his 11th career 100-yard game and third this season. In those 11 games, the Lions record is 9-2 – two of his 11 efforts of 100+ yards have come against Winnipeg while Edmonton has been the opponent three times. Matt Nichols 2nd half last week: Nichols went 14-of-20 for 239 yards and a TD pass in the second half alone last week. Nick Moore caught 4 of those 14 completions in the final 30:00 for 72 yards and a TD. Bo Lokombo: The Lions special team tackles leader ranks #2 in the CFL with 17 in 13 games. He has a current 8-game streak with at least one ST Tackle and 14 in total over that span. Ryan Phillips: The CFL’s active interceptions leader added his third of the season last week vs Saskatchewan and is now up to 43 for his career. He is now tied for #23 all-time and has made at least one in 11 consecutive seasons. BC’s 35-point last week: The Lions scored 20 points in the 3rd Quarter last week to pull ahead 40-5. That lead was the largest they have had in a game this year but not quite as big as the pair of 38-point margins they built in games in 2014. 5 games with Bryan Burnham & Lavelle Hawkins: The Lions receiving corps added Burnham back in 5 games ago and since then he has 18 catches for 244 yards and a TD. Three of BC’s 5 wins this year have come when Burnham has started. Hawkins has had an immediate impact as well and over his 5-game run he has 19 catches for 340 yards for 2 TDs. Nick Moore last 3 games: The ex-BC Lion has had 16 catches for 286 yards in his last three starts averaging 95.3 yards per game. That total has included his first 3 receptions of 30+ yards this season and 6 second down conversion catches. Lirim Hajrullahu: Last week missed 4-of-5 field goal attempts along with a 32-yard convert. He is the first CFL kicker to miss 4 FGAs in one game since Ottawa’s Brett Maher went 0-for-4 on Aug 2/14. After starting off with 17 made field goals in his first 20 attempts this season, Hajrullahu has made only 5-of-12 since his final attempt on Sep 6/15 vs Saskatchewan. Richie Leone: After starting off making 14-of-15 FG attempts this season, Leone has made 8 of his last 14 attempts. Last week however, he hit 4-of-5 tries in the 46-20 win over Saskatchewan. Darvin Adams: Has played in each of the last 5 games and over that span has had two games where he was targeted 10 times. In 40 targets he has 22 catches for 272 yards and a TD. Jamaal Westerman: The CFL’s sack leader has recorded 9 sacks in his last 8 games and been blanked just once. Troy Stoudermire: Over his first 4 games, Stoudermire averaged just 7.2 yards on 21 punt returns. Over his last 4 games, he has averaged 12.3 yards per attempt in part due to his career-long 78-yard TD return against Edmonton last week. He is now up to two career punt return touchdowns. Mic’heal Brooks: Was named one the CFL Shaw Top Performers of the Week for his two sack effort against the Riders. He also added an interception in a dominating performance. As Hall of Fame CFL reporter-analyst Lowell Ullrich has pointed out, all five sacks were by BC defensive linemen and none linebackers or other defenders. T.J. Lee: Over his last 4 games, lee has 26 tackles (3 more than Adam Bighill) to go along with 3 QB sacks. He now has 62 tackles this season, good for #7 in the CFL.
