? I only ask the question because should we be investing more money on the defence?

I don't think Ray would help this team at all.

Seriously!  Have you been watching the team this year?  Willy cant be depended on to play 18 games in a season.

But again the point of the post is should we be spending probably $250,000on a defensive player.

So you think putting an aging QB that has missed large chunks of two of the last three years because of injury behind this putrid o-line would improve the situation? Ray would need to be scraped off the turf within a game or two!

Read the bolded section please.

One player figures to have a long career anchoring the defense and the other will be retiring in the next year or two. Rather obvious don't you think?

If price was the same. Would you take Henoc Muamba or Ricky Ray? I only ask the question because should we be investing more money on the defence?

Ray has missed around 20 games due to injury since 2012.

As for spending that much for a defensive player, Henoc is worth it.

With almost the entire second half of the season remaining, only one team in the league has less than a million dollars to spend. Not exactly money well spent......

From CFLCapGeek:

Win $945K
Mon $1,253M
Tor $1,398M
Sas $1,533M
Ott $1,564M
Ham $1,699M
Cal $1,800M
Edm $1,975M
BC  $2,127M

That's what I saw...

CFL capgeek is a total joke. People need to stop citing it. It is not even close to accurate.

please stop with this garbage ISO, you've mentioned it 10 times, and every time it's pointed out it's horribly wrong. So going by that data we should hire Edmonton's GM, as Mike Reilly is the only guy on their team making over $100,000. We need that negotiator to get 90% of our team on league minimum contracts. BC doesn't pay any national player more than 71k. We get that you love everything Stampeders and hate everything Bombers, but at least try hate the Bombers for legitimate reasons. Hell according to that site Cornish is the only National player Calgary pays above league minimum.

If anyone wants an excel file of all the data from that site pm me and I'll e-mail it to you so you can see for yourself how incomplete it is. It's basically their website but in excel.

Now i'm looking at their sourcing for the sourced contracts. So Zach Anderson is listed at $51,000 and sourced. The source is an old cjob article saying he signed, but no reference to salary. So even when they say a contract is sourced it's a joke.

Actually, the site is quite useful. Spoke to Wally Buono about it last year and he admitted it was indeed fairly accurate, although not precise. Best tool available to gauge spending, that I'm aware of at least.

That's interesting, seen as how it didn't exist last year.

Sorry, should have said month not year. My apologies.

So Wally Buono thinks this is accurate

Name Year Team Pos Imp Salary Adekolu, Stephen 2015 BC WR NAT    51,000 Aladenoye, Josh 2015 BC OL INT    51,000 Arakgi, Jason 2015 BC LB NAT    51,000 Arceneaux, Emmanuel 2015 BC WR INT    51,000 Bazzie, Alex 2015 BC DL INT    51,000 Beck, John 2015 BC QB INT    51,000 Benson, Mike 2015 BC LS NAT    51,000 Bighill, Adam 2015 BC LB INT    51,000 Brooks, Michael 2015 BC DL INT    51,000 Burnham, Bryan 2015 BC WR INT    51,000 Clarke, Steven 2015 BC DB INT    51,000 Collie, Austin 2015 BC WR NAT    51,000 Dickson, JoJo 2015 BC LB INT    51,000 Fabien, Kirby 2015 BC OL NAT    51,000 Foster, Jason 2015 BC OL INT    51,000 Fraser, Eric 2015 BC DB NAT    51,000 Gore, Shawn 2015 BC WR NAT    51,000 Harris, Andrew 2015 BC RB NAT    51,000 Hawkins, Lavelle 2015 BC WR INT    51,000 Hoffman-Ellis, Alex 2015 BC LB INT    51,000 Iannuzzi, Marco 2015 BC WR NAT    51,000 Jackson, Tim 2015 BC DL INT    51,000 Jennings, Jonathon 2015 BC QB INT    51,000 Johnson, Josh 2015 BC DB INT    51,000 Lee, T.J. 2015 BC DB INT    51,000 Leone, Richie 2015 BC K INT    51,000 Lochard, Pascal 2015 BC RB NAT    51,000 Lokombo, Bo 2015 BC LB NAT    51,000 Lulay, Travis 2015 BC QB INT  325,000 Lumbala, Rolly 2015 BC FB NAT    51,000 Menard, David 2015 BC DL NAT    51,000 Minter, Zach 2015 BC DL INT    51,000 Murray-Lawrence, Shaquille 2015 BC RB NAT    51,000 Olafioye, Jovan 2015 BC OL INT    51,000 Parker, Keynan 2015 BC DB NAT    51,000 Phillips, Ryan 2015 BC DB INT    51,000 Player, T-Dre 2015 BC OL NAT    51,000 Rainey, Chris 2015 BC RB INT    51,000 Roh, Craig 2015 BC DL INT    51,000 Rwabukamba, Chris 2015 BC DB NAT    51,000 Smith, Khreem 2015 BC DL INT    51,000 Taylor, Courtney 2015 BC WR INT    51,000 Thorn, Cameron 2015 BC OL NAT    51,000 Valli, Dean 2015 BC OL NAT    51,000 Westerman, Jabar 2015 BC DL NAT    51,000 Yell, Ronnie 2015 BC DB INT    51,000

You know, I don't know how accurate the website is. They published the salaries & I posted what I saw. And I don't love the Stamps & hate the Bombers or I wouldn't be here you ass.

You say the website is a joke? That is your opinion. Yes, I already acknowledged some of the contracts may be wrong but I think overall as a guide it may be somewhat accurate.

What about it is accurate? If i filter on active players it comes up with 415. 359 of which make league minimum salary. So 87% of the league makes minimum salary?
