Bombers sign Jamall Westerman

Recommended Posts

Adding a Canadian end who presumably can play 35-40 snaps a game is big. Thomas should be able to handle the rest on the interior. Still need Canadian depth on D. I'm not a fan of the assumption that this signing means the Bombers have solidified 3 NI spots on D. We're still one injury at LB or DL from a ratio nightmare. Don't think this signing impacts who the Bombers will draft.

I wouldn't call it a nightmare, that's a little extreme don't you think?

Wonder how long his brothers contract is for

I was thinking the same but I think it's for two more years

Possible trade?

Bombers #1 and rights to Bilukidi (or Mulumba) for Lions #5 and Jabar Westerman?

Why don't we get Jawaan back here too while we're at it...

He was here few years back. Not good enough to be kept.

Great signing. Passport + NFL Experience. What more could you ask for?

IMHO Waud be a good choice as his backup to change the ratio.

Rookie Waud and Thomas on their own - not enough to move the ratio.  Add Westerman?  Now drafting Waud makes sense for this team.

Twitter suggesting Bombers will only start one Canadian receiver now.

I'd sooner suggest that they will look at an all import secondary.

Both of these are good problems to have.

Keep coming up with good problems Walters - big thumbs up.

I'd prefer Bucknor as a starter over JFG. I do like JFG though.

He was a late season addition and hard to say how much attention we gave him at receiver during that time.

It's a moot point anyways because my comment was merely tongue in cheek.

Could always go the route of 3 import linebacker if we choose to stick with 2 Canadian receivers, especially if we draft one who steps right up in TC, or one of the incumbents lights it up and takes the next step in being a bonafide Canadian starter.

Gives us a lot of options certainly and a 4 import receiving core would be sweet,

I'll gladly take that problem. :)
