It's game day!

 

2014 CFL season kicks off tonight.  Time to see what the new Walters / O'shea edition of the Bombers can do.

 

Game time is @ 7:30.  Forecast is 22 degrees with a chance of rain.

 

We invite everyone not attending the game to join in our chat room to cheer on the action!

Gonna be a great day. Similar weather here in AB. Finish work around 10am, then heading into Calgary around Noon for some pre-gaming. Absolutely can't wait for Knuckles and the pre-game show!!

Looking forward to it - will try to get in on the chat, have a viewing to go to tonight before the funeral tomorrow so I need to PVR the game though so probably won't join chat as I don't want any spoilers, should be back before the game ends unless we go out to eat later.

Big night for me tonight with the flag in all but can't wait to see our D in all of it unorthodoxness.

I hope we attack the Aros with the same zeal as Will Farrell displayed when he addressed a fan rally before the USA played Germany.

They can't.  A cricket team in India trademarked the royal blue and gold colour scheme so the Bombers can't wear it anymore.

Whenever I have to miss a game, I don't feel as bad as I should because I know Odds and Sods will fill me in on the feeling of the game. Happy it's back for another year.

I wish I didn't have a sinking feeling about this game.

Game could go a variety of ways.  Just saw on the other site some nut decided to make a thread wondering when the boo birds would come out.  Can these people just quit trying to stir the pot like that?  I mean, it could be a blow out tonight and they still wouldn't come out from me, just from the fact that building a team back up from 3-15 involves a lot of things that don't change in just 1 week.  It's a mentality we're trying to change, and I get the feeling from seeing preseason play, that much work has been done already to try and fix that mentality, but going up against the big established dogs is gonna take a little trial and error to fix that one.

 

 

Idk, I'm just all for cutting O'Shea enough rope before I jump to conclusions about him.

this is the dawn of the rebuild that the Bombers should have begun several years ago. the Wade/Kyle/Osh thing needs a year to gain traction and momentum. yeah, i know you've heard that refrain several times over the last 2 decades... and that the emotional stamina required to willingly get on the same roller coaster that has made you nauseous over and over is immense (i am a Leaf fan after all)... but the aggregate of the Bomber's moves since Miller came on board (and put Walters in place, and hired O'Shea and allowed him to have a dozen other coaches) has got to have you looking at the team's trajectory and believing in it. (heck... i do)

So stoked. Noeller and I gonna get a nice afternoon drink on and should be in fine form come game time. Win or lose today is a great day just because CFL football is back after too long an offseason.
