With ZC, is it really his neck or is it a concussion? Just musing out loud.

I agree with @GCn20 point that its nice we're not rushing him back and Dru's return to Ottawa is a good story.

If you have a neck injury from a hit, you can damn near bet that you also have a concussion. If you have a history of recurring concussions, 100% got one. In jiujitsu, they have a saying: everything above the shoulders is the head. Thats why the targeting are for high hits are shoulders down vs neck up.

Yes.

I heard or read somewhere that you can have concussions in/via your neck... So it's all connected.

100%.

We're all speculating but that makes sense that it could be that too. The video of the hit doesn't show his head hitting the ground at all, could be mild whiplash that may have trigger a concussion but who knows.

Yep, there doesn't have to be any contact to the head (from the tackle or from him hitting the ground) for there to be a concussion.

Not an expert but if you get hit unexpectedly from behind, your neck moves, your head is attached, you brain comes along for the ride and rattles in your skull. So yeah.

You can be concussed with no head impact whatsoever...

If your body is suddenly stopped with force...your brain doesn't stop, but slams into your skull with force and speed you were moving. Thats why the use of those foam helmet covers is pointless...unless you get a direct and sever head shot

correct...or an actual head shot....momentum of brain moving inside skull and slamming around is the main culprit....a guy running and getting a totally clean shot to the chest with a shoulder, stopping him cold can get you concussed...even without head hitting turf when the guy hits the ground

For all of our complaints, we have to give Walters credit on the Brown deal. Excellent move considering Zach is on the 6 and what has happened in BC and Hamilton.

Walters didn't go out and try to get Dru. Dru asked for his release, and Ottawa shopped him around the league. Walters just made the highest bid.

Zach Collaros is ruled out against Ottawa, after suffering a neck injury against Hamilton, and has been placed on the six-game injured list. Dru Brown will make his second straight start. Its almost like Collaros has become more brittle each season.

Ottawa inquired on the Bombers first and Walters closed the deal right away to not give other teams chance to go to the trade table and offer more.

Truth. With out the brown move, we’d a lost last and likely be cruising at the bottom of the league till zach came back. While possibly ruining TE by forcing him to start too soon.

We should also thank Dinwiddie for being stupid enough to trade his best QB. Both Walters and Dinwiddie may have saved our season. Good thing Dru wanted Winnipeg as well, so I guess MOS also deserves some credit.

We didn't sit on our thumbs and not seize the opportunity to upgrade, and that is something that gives me continued hope in the trinity.

Timing couldn't have been better..another week and he'd be in Hamilton right now

From my understanding Brown made it known to ott management that winnipeg was where he wanted to go...so Ottawa worked with Kyle and got it done

Yup..I think also even with ZC we may have lost more than we should have too...Brown i think gives us a better offence...hes not a rookie..has basically seen it all now and isnt a sitting duck in pocket...and also doesn't panic like ZC does now

Most fortunate timing of a trade in Bomber history?

This will probably be his last season. Every player is one bad injury away from retiring. Collaros still makes this team better no matter what low opinion you have of him. He may have to be a part time player for the rest of the season when he gets back sharing the load with Brown. I'd be perfectly fine with that.

You certainly didn't provide one for your claim.

If it results in a Grey Cup this year, I may have to forgive Dinwiddie for 2007.

Non-sequitur, that’s a big word.

I’m adding to your satisfaction.
