even reading more of that article Osh is so full of crap...just some execution...some finite details still to fix..etc..etc...its game 11 coming up...That execution crap and the little details should have been addressed...corrected...whatever you wanna call it 5 games ago...Maybe it's not execution but the useless guys you kept who just can't execute, or your coaching is so bad that at the professional level you cant show/teach or run any kind of practice to do the littlest of things....like tackle.....catch...run a proper pursuit angle...block

Man excuse after excuse. Or maybe they so dense they can't even see the limitations in some guys

He said something similar after the Ottawa game too. Just baffling. If it takes 9 games to 'like where we are', wouldn't that tell you something is wrong with your planning and preparation, if it's taking half the season to get on the same page?

he's been saying the same stuff since last yr really...just different versions of it to fit each circumstance/game...but essentially the same thing...the sign of a guy with no real clue if we being honest

and yeah half the yr and still havnt figured it out...and it's a lot of the same issues/excuses....it is baffling

So the half time this friday is the UND marching band. Club should cancel them.

We can't be surprised, O'Shea has always said "minor tweaking" and needing to review film to adjust a tiny smidgen small adjustment to make things all better.

Has he ever made veil vague threats of changes will be made if the guys keep dogging it? I think he's been more consistent on a non answer then even Mike Kelly handled internally crap from 20 years ago.

Have they made one roster change this year that wasn't predicated by injury?

Nope

Nope

Well...maybe reese for Jenkins..but Reese should have had that spot from get go

Jenkins got it the usual Osh way..determined pre camp regardless soley on fact he was here previous yr

So 1 change to the roster in a .500 season that has had more downs than ups... Doesn't that say everything?

that's been my point too.

I also not sure what kind of in season assessing we do, evaluate what's working and not...and adjust as needed...pretty common practice...then look at our 4th and 5th receiver numbers and ask why have they not upgraded or done anything with that...the numbers are embarrassedly pathetic...

As I've said in the past, The Trinity does it's work in the off season. Then pat each other on the back & say well done. Then do virtually nothing after. Where other teams will make roster moves during the season, we don't. We got away with it when the team was still good but now?? As Tom Petty used to sing... "Yeah, I'm free. Free fallin'...." I say, let them be stubborn & dig their own graves. Eventually, if they don't change then it'll be their demise.

Hasn't worked so far, and it appears unlikely to now.

Arguably, the bottom hasn't truly fallen out in previous years... the team has been progressively declining but they can still say "we won 10+ games every year" and "we keep making the playoffs"... a 6-7 win season would be a proper bottoming out

“I would say the majority of the guys in the building here aren’t struggling to put their finger on it,” said head coach Mike O’Shea. “Our process allows everybody to see the truth of where we’re at. We’re not where we want to be.

“Do I think we’ve gotten closer? Absolutely. I’ve talked about it in the last few weeks — we’re down to some finite, fine fixtures, little details, honing the craft. We’re not still in that big picture mode. So, I believe the guys know exactly where we’re at — 5-5, not good enough, improving and we have a team that if we play to our potential can compete every single week to win a game.”

when you read this how can you not just shake your head and laugh?? No one's struggling to figure it out...yet they haven't yet...The process allows to see the truth? are they even able to see the truth...or just ignoring it?...like wow

They have been in this finite , fine fixture tweaking now for 2 yr...And what they honing besides incompetence and poor technical skills...Tackling...Catching....proper route running...Blocking...pre snap recognition (ZC pasting 2 weeks ago) was prime example of a general lack of any awareness of what's happening on the field pre-snap...

11 games in, not 2...3....and this is a vet ladened team so the b.s he is yammering about should hardly be an issue...especially 2/3rds of the way into a season

Enough of the bullshit excuses and justification of poor over all play/performance. Across the board but mainly with the way this team is coached. I not gonna blame 90% of the players for this when they are poorly prepared and coached...there are a handful yes who should not be starting or taking big rotational reps, and a couple with no business being on the roster, but that small group shouldnt be the reason why we look like garbage game in and game out..small spurts of what looks like dominance, but then the team we up against see's what we do..adapt...and take it to us...aka....out coached us. That game last week where there was that jekyl and Hyde performance...was all about that...100 percent

And we’re happy to be just competing to win a game? Yikes.

Instead of bonuses in their contracts, the players get participation medals. Everybody feels so good about themselves.

I want a team that gives it their all on the field every single game, that plays hard and fast and one where we don't have to go and ask whether or not we're truly dressing the best possible team we can or if it's just an old boys club where everyone is just too complacent.

Yup and so does MOS but unfortunately some of these players who are giving their all aren't producing but MOS seems to rationalize that away, e.g., earned it, give so much to this club, they get to decide their fate etc etc.

Only after the demise of the team.

well...In Osh's mind I guess...A players mindset i can assure is different

he's said on several occasions when defending play or players that "if you look back over time you can see the success they had" to justify why they are here/and or being played as a starter. Key words "look back"....not knowing enough to look at now, or into the future, and not even distant but immediate future. Guys who were good back in time don't mean they are good enough now...but he holds fast to his beliefs. Classic example of the "can't see the forest for the tree's" totally missing the big picture while overlookingg the main points and being bogged down in the details...many of which are irrelevant

This is a classic trap game for the Als. Bombers got em right where they want em. Yep.

I had the same thought. Watch the bombers pull a miracle out of their ass and no problems at all!

For shits and giggles and the reminiscing of Nasty Nate in the other thread, I used MBB posting history and ChatGPT to get a Nate style commentary on the season to date. Enjoy folks, all meant for some levity in a frustrating to date season.

THE 5–5 FOLLIES: MIKE O’SAME AND THE BLUE BOMBER MUSEUM

Ladies, gentlemen, hobos, rounders and prairie plutzkies…your 2026 Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 5–5, which is a PERFECT record if the objective is to be neither good nor bad enough to force anybody in management to do something.

These Bombers are a football slot machine. Pull the handle and maybe you get a half of competent football…maybe you get 377 rushing yards surrendered to B.C.…maybe you get a 16–0 lead in Edmonton followed by three points and 35 yards of offence in the second half. Nobody knows! Least of all the fellows being paid to know.

After every fresh disaster, out strolls head coach Mike O’Same, president and founder of S.A.M.E.—Stand Around, Mutter Excuses. Mikey surveys the smoking crater and announces that the fellas simply needed to make two or three more plays. Brilliant! The Hindenburg merely needed a couple more buckets of water.

Meanwhile general manager Kyle Waiters, also known as the Duke of Stand-Pat, watches every other CFL club bring in receivers, defensive backs and pass rushers while Winnipeg guards its practice roster like it contains the lost treasures of King Solomon. Weak receiver room? Wait. Confused secondary? Wait. Ancient offensive line creaking like a haunted hotel? WAIT HARDER. Eventually another team will accidentally release an all-star directly into Kyle’s office.

Then we have offensive coordinator Tommy Con-Dull, architect of the CFL’s last-place red-zone operation. Give Brady O-FEED-ME-ra the football and he bulldozes Edmonton for more than 100 yards before halftime. Naturally, Con-Dull responds by hiding Brady in the second half like he owes the coaching staff money. Why use your best offensive player when you can have Zach Colla-Rust fling another hopeful balloon toward a receiver moving with the speed of a refrigerator being dragged through wet cement?

On defence, coordinator Jordan Yawner has installed his famous Prevent-Us-From-Winning scheme. Rush three, rotate seventeen defenders, place the defensive backs somewhere near Brandon and graciously concede the seven-yard completion. The opposition needs eight yards? Give them twelve. Need to protect field-goal range? Back everybody onto Portage Avenue. Watching this defence communicate before the snap is like watching six tourists assemble furniture without the instructions.

The crazy part is there are still some genuine ballplayers trapped inside this travelling carnival. Brady remains the engine. Trey Va-VOOM is one of the most dangerous returners in the country. Willie Sackerson and Jake Sack-resna can still wreck an offensive line. Nic Demski continues to fight. But individual talent cannot overcome an organization that treats adjustment like an admission of guilt.

Now the 9–1 Montreal Alouettes come marching into town. Mike O’Same will tell us the room is confident. Kyle Waiters will continue waiting. Jordan Yawner will station the secondary in St. Boniface. Tommy Con-Dull will discover a new method of reaching the four-yard line and emerging with three points.

The prescription is painfully simple:

  1. FEED BRADY until the other club proves it can stop him.

  2. Play the best players—not the fellows with the longest service pins.

  3. Attack on defence instead of operating a government-funded receiver-relocation program.

  4. Bring in actual competition before the season becomes an archaeological exhibit.

  5. If the same problems keep producing the same losses…CHANGE SOMETHING.

The dynasty is gone, folks. What remains is a 5–5 club living off the fumes of what it used to be, driven by coaches who appear convinced that stubbornness is a substitute for adjustment.

But don’t worry.

Mike O’Same says they’re only a couple plays away.

Prolly.
