Worn Out Fan

I have been a blue bomber fan for over 60 years starting when I was eight…

I've always been passionate about them especially around family. But now I have lost my mojo…

The worst part about all has been the bickering between posters and the quick run to negativity that I am not used to seeing. I think this is a great fan board but I just now I feel disgusted.

It's not that the bombers are having a tough year; I've been through many more tough years than good ones. What's bugging me is the Blue company PR; it's the appearance of complacency and we will be "okay"… That's what's the heartbreak is for me... It's too quiet.

I do miss too the lack of optimism that I usually find somewhere amidst the posters. I see the potential and I see the impatience. But the mood of doom and gloom multiplied by complaining is enough to make me want to walk away from the game after all these years. It's not fun right now. No, I do not think we are spoiled.

It wasn't very long ago that we all thought we had the best management in the country. Does everybody seem helpless because one or two individuals have too much control, too much self-centredness?

Okay, so for now I give up. I am going to jump on the doom and gloom bandwagon. Every time we win again I'm going to buy a cigar and throw it over the balcony. The rest of the time I'm going to play sad old rock music.

Meanwhile, I am going to content myself with trying to figure out when Michael O'Shea first developed Alzheimer's. It's my new challenge. I think I will start next week, maybe.

The secret is to be negative all the time.

I thought Zach still was sucking a lot of the game.  The only game where I thought he's truly played up to his old self was the Calgary game.

I'd go in house like I said before with Darry Patterson...has enough of the old school way in him that blends nicely with being relatable as well as highly respected by players today...and has a solid solid back ground

He would be of the cloth as well that the best players will suit up and play, regardless of where they came from...how long they been here, and not due to any of the other current bias' which plague us.....and comes from the lineage that if you mess up....or dont cut it...repeatedly....you will lose your seat at the big kids table...and thats what we need

I forgot about Patterson. He played for Cal Murphy. He's seen a real HOF coach at work.

yup....he know's how to...and what has to be done as a HC....it' all about performance and talent and thats what gets you on and keeps you on  roster....just enough old school in him to work well with the current era of player

Nah man Collaros was good that game, even  in the face of constant pressure up the middle taking a **** kicking. How many sacks did Toronto wind up with? They had 4 scoring drives taken away because receivers or running backs coughed the ball up, plus the 3rd and 1 poor spot at the end. Forget the score, forget the numbers whatever they were, it was the most accurate and in control Collaros looked all season. Even vs. Calgary he still needed some highlight reel catches to look good. Didn't need that vs. Toronto.

The one disadvantage is he's in his 60's.

Early 60s wasn’t that old for a HC until recently. As the current ones age, it will be more prevalent again

I do not like the word KARMA but there is a contagious attitude that seems to spread throughout a people, group or team. In football for example we like to use the term swagger for a certain state of being. Whatever attitude we have on our Big Blue now, it seems to be compounding ... its the difference between winning and losing any given game

I don’t think our attitude on here matters. We aren’t out there playing.

I'm not a worn out fan. I just have absolutrly no confidence in Mike O'Shea being the Head Coach to pull a rabbit out of his hat to get this team into the playoffs. Now, the Bombers have 13 players on the 6 Game IL. We have no idea when some of these players are coming back because O'Shea says discussing injuries are off limits to media & fans. Thing is, how many of these players got hurt at the beginning of the season in the first 2 or 3 games because he let them play without practicing? Or let them sit out vast stretches of training camp or the entire camp itself because he felt that they needed to nursse their injuries along & besides... they're veterans & really don't need to practice. Like self inflicted gunshot wounds.

Attitude here or on the team itself?

I’m old, I remember going to games in the 70’s with Brock as QB and Mike Holmes as our top threat receiver. It’s called being a fan. I’ve had plenty of disappointment and also plenty of joy from this franchise. I say bring it on! I’m certainly not worn out  …

I'm not worn out...if I didn't point out flaws...complain and ***** as well as applaud...would mean I didn't give a rats patoot

I love the posters here that have eyes to see for themselves ... they make fantastic comments and make the game more fun

what bugs me is those posters that just jump on a band wagon and mostly just get more emphatic than the leaders ... they don't  actually see whats there ... instead they see with their beliefs and they think they are smarter than coach (but they are not) ...  i hope they enjoy themselves

we have great coaching and management even when they make bone headed decisions ... i can put up with that ... what i love is their steady stream of good stuff ...  i do not see a lot of stupid and thats worth a lot to me

I like this post. Despite his problems this year, I like Mike. And I'm rooting for him to get this **** figured out

Good job Mike. I'm glad you figured it out. You're a great ambassador for the city of Winnipeg and all around good guy

Thanks for playing such a big hand in changing the culture here.

He will never read this, but let's give the man his flowers. When the quote was posted, things were in doubt

Some changes on your take, from early in the season?

I still have the same overall take, I don’t love a decent amount of the coaching decisions we’ve been making, our practice roster use still has me questioning a LOT and our roster management is hit and miss.

That being said, it’s not changing anytime soon, it’s working and the locker room culture they’ve built obviously has them on a massive heater so I’m content to just enjoy the ride

Worn out from all these seasons going all the way.

Said every Edmonton football fan in 1982... Look at them today. These are the good old days.

I have no fear of the dark ages again...not with the upper management we have...and even if a guy leaves here and there...the foundation and the way is set...we good
