Frankie Williams had the most memorable highlight, just not the way he wishes.  Never. Gets. Old.

  • Didn't like Proulx when he first became a head referee, but IMO he has morphed into the best head ref the league has.

  • Just came across this forum and signed up to join in on the conversation on the roster. Was reading some of the stuff people commented about on the PR shrinking and ADS and Agudosi getting picked

I have never seen that once.....

I've definitely seen it at IGF multiple times... and sometimes it's needed... some people get too fired up after the "FRIST DOWN" cheer during critical drives...

Speaking of critical drives... I need to jump on youtube and see if Waders has last week's game up... would love to watch that soul-sucking 10 min drive again

We should. So many idiot fans in the stands these days. Shoutout to the dummy in the north end zone trying to start the wave while our red zone offence breaks huddle.

I noticed this quite a bit last year.

As we approach and pass 30k in the stands, there are just too many casuals there to party who don't know football etiquette. Need the video/audio reminders for the new crowd.

I must be in a good section or something because everyone is great about when to make noise.

Is it the non-alcoholic section as I sometimes link some people's bad timing to alcohol intake. 🙂

Pigrome signed by the Redblacks......I wonder how much info between Desjarlis and Pigrome will be dissemenated to the 2 colours before Sat.........Have to be on our toes and change game plan accordingly

I mean if their coaches can’t watch film and pick up the basic schemes of any teams no information is going to help them

Desjarlais hasn't been here in two years and Piggy had a cup of coffee and couldn't figure out the SY play book. Not scared of what they may reveal.

Pigrome is a physical talent, but couldn't grasp our playbook. I hope he tells them everything he knows.

Based on what?

I have a question:

how many offensive plays do the  Bombers have in their playbook that they actually use in a game?

Oh you West siders. Everybody knows WEST SIDE SUCKS! Its for grannys. The East is for the beasts!

208 REPRESENTIN'

The east side is for those sun-seeking muppets with their leathery skin, while the west side just rules, plain and simple.

All this “East side vs west side” stuff reminds me of 2008.

It 'seemed' like the leos last game had some inside info the way they penetrated our o'line and caused a lot of havoc.....Couture would have known a lot of our tendencies BUT like many have commented Pigrome would only have scant knowledge of our offence....Now Desjarlis has intimate knowledge of our guys and their play....Does that give them an edge.....I'll answer my own concern and say probably not ....I just hope we throw new looks at Ottawa and don't get comfortable like we did against the leo's....

One year we sat on the west side and it was unbearable how many people complained about play calls and clearly did not know anything. Crotchety old whiners. My friend got hit in the back by an old coot that didn't like us making noise on defense.

207 here.

209 here... say it with me "West Side Sucks!  West Side Sucks!"

For the record, the "West Side Sucks" stuff goes back to at least the 80's or 90's because it was engrained in me by my dad growing up.

West side has, and always will suck. East side is where the real fans sit. It's written in stone. Wade Miller 3:16.

Take your MedicAlert bracelet, drink your Ensure, and get outta here. If you hurry you can still make the early bird special.

I have a question:

signals maybe?

Likely 100-150 pass plays and 40-50 run plays. Now how many are installed in a game?  Half ish. Probably 20 or so of the passing plays and 12-15 of the run plays are bread and butter installed every week. The majority of the rest are situational.

So when you build your play book in the off season you have a group of plays to beat specific coverage. Defence plays cover 3 buzz mable, you have a pack of plays to beat that. Some of that will be used in a cover 1 or cover 7 scheme say, but alignment and personal packs change.
In the run you have specific plays to use if the dl is run stunting (twisting dts) to try and steal an extra gap with out an extra body. Or if the dts read the C and when he crosses one the other wraps back to get back in the way etc.

Other than that you have packages that develop over the year. So you have bread and butter but then you have some mayo, pepperoni, mustard etc plays to use in the future when teams adjust to your bread and butter.

The bombers are very modular, they run the same pass and run concepts out of different formations  we might run our dagger concept out of 11 formation with a wr like Bailey tight or they might run it out of bunches  or 4x1 etc. we don’t tip our play with rb or formation alignment. We will also use one alignment with motion or zero motion (moving to a new spot at the snap) to get into another look.

the Signals are used to relate terminology. So it’s possible to intercept and translate to steal the play. It’s happened a lot in the cfl and nfl over the past 25 years. But the signals often change every week because of this now. This is also why you see use of different ways to signal in plays. Couple years ago Hamilton I think even used the flash cards.
