Nichols Injury

There's likely going to be a lot of information coming by early next week, so this thread will be necessary...

Watching the highlight pack of the game, when Nichols gets up after being fallen on, he points at his shoulder and then points straight down......to me, he's saying his shoulder popped out....that it's dislocated. So if we're looking at a dislocated or separated shoulder, what is the recovery time on something like that? Is it a season ender?

  • **** off. If Fajardo can look like a passer so can Streveler. Fajardo sucks ass as a passer, way inferior to Streveler.

Re-signing Willy would just be awkward for both sides, kind of like inviting the first ex-wife to your third wedding.

It's my fault. I was single when we last won the cup, got married the July following and we haven't won since. I've told my wife we need a divorce for the sake of the team. She tells me I can't a

That is indeed a good sign for his arm then.

He doesn’t look hurt at all. Real tough. Matt Nichols is so gifted, horses are hung like Matt Nichols.

Tis but a scratch.

Maybe he just hasn't gotten in to see the doctor yet.

this doesn't appear to be coming from the team, as the presser hasn't started yet, but...............

Presser is gonna say he is a great competitor, the team isnt going to rush him back and its day to day with an upper body injury.

Do NOT rush him back. Regardless of how the team is doing. Even if Streveler or McGuire aren’t the answers, we’ve seen Nichols when he’s not fully healthy. It’s not pretty. Not worth wrecking his arm forever.

Mr. Streveler, your opportunity is now. Make the most of the month or more you have to show that you have what it takes to be a starting CFL QB.

the last part is what I find most interesting....be interesting to see how quickly MN can get back in there. In the meantime, if The Strevelation can even go 2-2 in the next month, I'll call that a win...

Well I'd assume most QB's can throw 5 yard check downs with their non throwing arm so why not? :)

No he won't Bob.

But he was so forthright telling us the injury was "upper body". So he's narrowed it down to anything from strained abdominal to fractured skull.

Six weeks seems to work out pretty good. Either Streveler does well or Nichols gets to step in as the potential hero to a team on a skid.

On 1290 this morning Troy and Bauming brought up Darian Durant as an option and eventually Bauming said  "He hasn't played in a few years" and made it seem like that was the primary reason on why they wouldn't go with him.   Eventually they mentioned the signing bonus + retirement.

Every team in the league is running with backups. Even keel now. (Reilley doesn't count because his O-Line other than Chung are bush league. He will be on the IL pretty soon too, sad to say)

Let's see what this team is made of. Season isn't lost yet.

Except for the team we play Friday.

They still need to bring in someone....ideally with some experience. Toronto is overloaded and will need to do something.

the notion that because he isn’t in a body cast means it isn’t significant isn’t necessarily accurate. It is his throwing shoulder , a rotator cuff injury or partial AC separation are worrisome without having visible signs. You know they are going to try and downplay this but he did get 6 game injured.

I'd be surprised if the CFL doesn't backtrack on the 2QB roster plan...

They can re visit that one while they fumble over the weather delay rule in the off season. This is after all the the RFL...reactive football league.

yeah I don't get the CFLs logic with the 2 rostered qbs thing... we've seen games this year where the 3rd guy has had to play.

gotta do something to be able to afford $700,000 starters... just sayin'...
