Bomber News: 2019 Off Season

For minor off-season Bomber news.  Any significant stories or news that are likely to generate significant discussion may have their own thread created.

Going to try going with the two threads again for the off season.    One for Bomber news, one for CFL news.   These threads should be used for general / minor day to day news, tweets, etc.  A catch all for tidbits that people want to share to keep everyone up to date on the goings and comings of the league.

Any news, tweets, and signings that is likely to generate significant discussion may have their own threads created.

I would think BC would pass on Elimimian if they signed Bighill... assuming Solly is a FA...

Getting rid of a fan favourite might not be the best plan for a team trying to rebuild their fan base.

Sounds like a Bomber sort of guy. Positive attitude, small college, and he shouldn't be fazed by our weather.

Actually, when you listen to the whole quote, I don't hear Harris suggesting that Bighill will be back at all, in fact I'm hearing suggest that guys will do "what's best for their families".  That could mean anything, but Bighill's family is in BC...

I agree with you.  But you never really know about these things that go to the media.  They are in negotiations and their agents will be telling them to give both positive and negative vibes to maximize the teams bidding and keep it hot.  There are only so many opportunities in this game to be able to cash in.  This is likely the best opportunity he will ever have.

I would say let's just assume Bighill is not resigning... that was if he does go to BC, we will already be emotionally prepared... if he stays here, it will feel like a bonus... win-win!

The Bombers reaped 3 all-star seasons out of Loffler's rookie contract and he didn't make a peep about that inequity, I think it's fair he be allowed to earn a good wage more in line with his contributions on his next contract.  Just because you have no understanding of his assignments doesn't mean he hasn't been executing them properly.

I’m going to assume you know all his assignments then.

I'd say it's a positive that Bighill and his family are still hanging around Wpg., if they were desperate to get back home to BC they could have abandoned Wpg. multi-weeks ago.

They are heading back now, I think he just had some non-football things to take of before they go through the moving process (or just wanted to get their moneys worth out of the place they were renting).

Actually, I bet they sublet their place in BC through November, now they can head back. That makes sense.

Fan interest.

Wasn't the Perrizo signing announced earlier this week?

He tweeted it out last week that he had signed.

It's something the league decided to do earlier this year.

Following the CFL winter meetings in Banff, Alta., the teams approved a measure to publicly share ten players from their negotiation list twice a year (February and December).

I sure hope we get Billhill to sign. He's the heart and soul of our D.

If he was at the Canucks game in the front row with Wally and Hervey, I'd be inclined to believe he's got an offer on the table by BC.

There is absolutely zero truth to the rumor that Bighill was at the Canucks game with Wally and Hervey. That would be tampering. Hervey and Wally are not idiots, they would not sit front row of a broadcasted Canucks game with a player that is under contract to another team. I can't believe any of you fell for what is quite obviously a troll job.

Nobody seriously suggested it... TBurg was responding with sarcasm to a previous post.

Also, Wally retired.

Also, it's broadcast... Not broadcasted.

Now you can relax...

I think you missed the tongue-in-cheek tone to TBurg's post.

It was a response to a series of posts about Chamblin sitting courtside at a Raps game with Popp, so, PLP never had a shot at the Argo job, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Even TBurg has a sense of humour. ;)

This is the first I heard this. I don't think Wally & Hervey would work together especially since Wally is retired & Ed's in charge.  With Wally there this past season, we all knew that he was in charge. Pretty funny, though.
