Bomber Moves 2018

Sorry but I don't like the total silence coming out of Bomberville, but that's just me; I like action and news  like all of you.  Yes we've extended a contract or two and we are distributing the year-end money before the 2018 salary cap  comes in.

But what are the deep thinkers in our organization planning to do?

I hope they are not thinking status quo; that never seems to work out well. Unless we are dedicated to making sharp improvements here and there, I believe we atrophy from last year.

After the 2017 NFL cuts were made did we bring in any linebackers for a sniff? I saw other prospects up here but maybe I missed something.

We have got to fix what's broken and I think somehow management must know more than we do ... we are good prognosticators with our comments on this site but I would like management to show us up.

We are not hearing a lot of news out of the Calgary and Edmonton football clubs so maybe our Blue Bombers are an elite club now (as we join those two in their silence).

But man I hate twiddling my thumbs as I wait to see what our local gurus are going to do. No news is bad news, say the bored ...  Well at least were not coming off seasons like Ottawa Hamilton and Montréal had.

So maybe I should be grateful for our club and its management.

Say what you will about Mike O'Shea but no one can ever overstate how valuable he has been in turning around the perception and culture of this franchise.

  • TSN1290 reporting that SK offered the most money, but he chose Winnipeg.

Get one BC scout and now we sign their whole defense from the last few years. Not sure that's a good idea....

Oh, I'm sure we're only taking their BEST talent.

Curious move... Possible trade coming??? If Willis and old man Hughes can be traded, I’m sure Opgo has some value

But is Roh a better option than either Jeffcoat or Ogopogo...? I suppose it depends on $$$ but jeeze this would seem like a lateral move at best... Unless it does mean Muamba...

I'm sure Roh is just training camp fodder... Everything is fine... It will all work out... In Walters we trust... At least it's not Hurl...

There's not enough sugar in my koolaid.

Roh played 20 of his games as a OLB.   Perhaps a flexibility thing, here....

We have rotated 3-4 D-Ends almost every game. This gives us 4 and Roh in passing downs is big enough to move inside at 6'5 265.

Odd move for sure...something is in the wind....Walters is sharpening his pencil (I mean that in a good way) and is writing up the best contract off for Henoc that he can....When the dollars and the sms don't jibe...something is going to give...It might mean Wild has reached the end of the road here...Ogopogo...no way.

If Muamba isn't the end game, there's no reason Okpo has to go b/c of this signing.

This seems like a move to cut TO loose in favour of Muamba but what do I know ...

Roh is pretty good ... not sure of the fit otherwise, as I don’t see us DIing a rush end.

If we can bring in Muamba by cutting TO I'm all in favour of it.

But I also think we probably got a pretty reasonable deal on Roh.  Day 4 of free agency and he isn't exactly a superstar.

I think this is going to be for a salary shift...and if we don't land Muamba..well then we have 3 import DE's to rotate who all have experience and are all very good

FIgures they might have interest him after hearing they put a offer in for Bazzie

This is similar to when the Bombers, initially after O'Shea came here, signed a bunch of Argonaut defenders.

Not many of them worked out. None probably.

Don't like it.

Not a signing I expected and it makes me wonder if it has something to do with Muamba. Curiouser and curiouser.

If they were after Bazzie, then this probably has nothing to do with Muamba...  strange one for sure

Do people seriously feel that Walters could not be able to deal Opgo and would have to cut him this were the plan?

Roh's a rotation DE. I guess the Bombers don't see Corney as good enough to be the rotation DE all the time.

On the bright side, these guys are better than Brohm, Bucknor and Peach...

Shell, and not a defender but Romby.

Was it OShea or Goveia...?

Could argue that Adams, Romby were Goveia connection

Jake Thomas still hasn’t signed anywhere yet has he? Kind of surprising considering he’s a competent Canadian.
