Montreal Fires Chapdelaine and Thorpe

Chapdelaine was also OC.  So now they have no head coach, no offensive or defensive coordinators and they play Ottawa on Sunday.

I'm guessing Reed will be the HC,   Calvillo as OC,   Stubler as DC (rumor is he's waiting for the Als opportunity)

What a mess. I get that its been a bad season but why not wait till November?

Dave "the Nail-gun" Naylor is already speculating Stubler is part of the plan...

I guess they really wanted the "biggest gong show" title over Hamilton.

What a train wreck. Kavis Reed has been a disaster as a GM so far.

So Chapedelaine didn't get even a full calendar season as HC.

Real shocker is Thorpe, who they wanted to keep so badly in the offseason.

Montreal is a real mess.

Imo this likely means Lapo as HC in Montreal next season. Assuming, of course, that Reed gets to keep his job for another season.

bizzare timing to clean house tho if you ask me...now we should make a pitch to grab Hebert for the season as a place holder at MLB

I thought I read it here but maybe it was on twitter... someone said it's hard to imagine LaPo goes to Mtl if Joe Mack is still there...

That team will be a gong show for as long as kavis is in charge. He was one of the most unqualified candidates for a GM in recent history.

People keep thinking Lapo is gone, but I think his HC ship has sailed. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him extended as the highest paid OC in the league again. He wants to be here after all.

Also Thorpe=no brainer. And he plays an aggressive game which I'm sure o'shea would love. O'shea would never do that to one of his assistants though. Maybe in the off-season

Hard to convince Lapo to be where Joe Mack is

Okpalaugo for Hebert

This is what the folks in Quebec refer to as "le dumpster fire".

No one I could trust more with a rebuild after blowing up the previous rebuild than Kavis Reed.

Whats Durants HC body count up to now?

Looking at that tweet it appears that in Mtl there was a total loss of the room....

The Football Gods Woke Me up with a Smile on my Face. Wow JC and NT, would love to see your Faces right now. Here is my Face, ??

So does a tweet like that concern anyone touting Thorpe as a replacement for Hall?

Would absolutely love to see Thorpe take over for Hall here, but I seriously doubt anything would happen mid-season based on the way O'Shea operates. While I could see an offseason switch as more likely, I think Thorpe will be snatched up by then.

I'd love to capitalize on this major Montreal fumble by dumping Richie Hall and bringing Thorpe in.  He surely could at least make this D more stingier than what we're working with right now, and would have a chance to make Montreal pay for their blunder.
