Around The League Off Season Discussion

Well that loss stung last night. Not happy with the decision to kick the FG but that can be discussed elsewhere :) All in all there was a lot of improvement this year over last year and looking like they are trending upwards. If Walters can pull off another great draft and some more key FAs this offseason I like our chances going into 2017. Who is on the FA watch list and what areas are we in desperate need of fixing?

  • It's been proven, in this league, that if you don't have a good backup....

The Bombers really need to kick the Riders ass sideways in their first game in the new park to set the tone for the season and send their fans off on the crazy train.  Nothing else matters.

  • Riders haven't lost yet so their fans feel emboldened to venture out of their own little bubble. Won't have to wait long for them to scurry back into their holes.

Turner seems to have found a place in BC...

Just hope there is $$ for Westerman - I think Butcher will step up but also don't think either him or Thomas is an every down DT

Did they have anyone on their roster making less than $200k last season?  No wonder their cap situation was so ridiculous.

Shologan has never been even close to great.  He's had a few years with decent sack totals when he's played in great DL's, but always a guy who's struggled physically and got chewed up vs the run.

Well it would seem he did a piss poor job of analyzing their cap situation so this might be addition by subtraction for the Als.  Not great timing though for sure.

If they want to start pinching pennies, he's the guy.

Don't leave your seats ladies and gentlemen, this circus has yet one more act....

Kavis says to Casey.....'I think you struck out...I have a passle of free agents to sign and you're telling me we have no dough...There's the door'....Casey says...'I'm quitting so you can't bench me...I'm going to try and catch on with a club that really knows numbers...Regina...see ya...Yes the circus will go on.

We should not exult over Montreal problems, cause the league badly needs them, and Trawna too.

it pains me but I agree completely... the league does not notice when Winnipeg, Sask and Edm struggle b/c they generally keep it together even with shitty teams... When BC, Mtl and Tor sturggle, it's a problem...

Mack had nothing to do with the Cap in Wpg so he would have no clue in Mtl......no surprise.

So what is the penalty for Montreal being over the salary cap last year?  Anything confirmed?

Were they over?  I never saw any official report.

My recollection is in previous years the audits were completed in April.

The CFL investigated, Montreal said that 'for sure' they were not over the cap.

Justin Dunk was fined $500.  Case closed.

Any word on where he is going?
