  1. I would consider getting rid of the following, Collaros, Neufeld, have a talk about Bryant/Hardrick taking pay cuts, Jeffcoat, Thomas, Bighill, Rose, and Alexander. Now I’m not talking about getting rid of all those guys but there has to be some tough discussions and we have to get younger and cheaper, we have some younger guys looking for raises, and that will have to come at the expense of some of those players..

Sankey piles up tackles, but he gets to the play late as he is not very mobile. Teams rush for average against him. It's why not a ton of teams showed much interest in him.

Agreed. Lemon is the one I’m sad that got away. Apparently he wanted to be here and we most certainly could have used him in rotation, he was great for Montreal this season.

That's easy enough to quash. Stanback is not a top rusher in this league any longer. Contain Faj and make him beat you with his arm.

And, if Faj can beat you with his arm, you have a new bestie.

I love this matchup for us. He simply cannot make those cross field throws. Our D is going to make life miserable for Cody and he’s not going to get the benefit of 9 turnovers against us.

Not just this year..... As Mike has said in here many times, there are several posters on this board that are more knowledgeable and are likely better writers than him. It's ridiculous.

It would be harder to find people on this board that post regularly who aren’t more knowledgeable then him, I never really had anything against him but yeah he has some really outlandish takes.

Not only Kelly but I can put my blue and gold goggles aside and concede that Houston being a CFL all star is a joke when he’s arguably our fourth, or fifth best DB on our roster..

I'm still seeing hi of 1 and BAC of 0.08%.

    At kickoff.

Me and my girl are doing a sober November, we just had so much going on at the tail end of the summer, that I committed to do this with her, we have our tickets to the western finals, and the idea of being In the cold, sober isn’t too appealing to me! Oh well.. the things you do for love!

Lots of interesting stuff here: https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/10/31/statistical-year-in-review/

Big one that jumped out to me

    100/955

Winnipeg was penalized 100 times in the regular season for 955 yards, fewest in the CFL.

And here’s the number that just reinforces how disciplined this team is – over the last five seasons, 2017-23, the Blue Bombers have been the least penalized team in the league EVERY SINGLE SEASON.

Talk about roster management all you want but this is really where O’Shea shines. This is an incredible achievement, and really this is the difference in sone of those tight games, staying disciplined, and not taking bad penalties. I’ve seen very few stupid, and retaliation penalties on the Blue Bombers since Mike O’Shea has been head coach.

Arbuckle got a ton of chances and never lived up to his 'potential'. He's the perfect example of why you don't give a young QB a starting job with a bunch of money. You give them a chance to compete for the starting job, a lowish base salary with a bunch of bonuses for being THE guy.

I disagree that Dru would be the best QB on most of those teams.

Even if that’s true. What could we offer Brown? He’ll at the very worst get 1 B money else where.

I don't think any team gives Brown a starting job or starting salary.

Ottawa could dump Mazoli, sign Brown to compete for the starting job and use the savings to upgrade the rest of the team.

Riders could dump Harris, sign Brown to compete for the starting job and use the savings to upgrade their O line.

    Montreal could dump Faj-jj... etc.

    Hamilton could dump BLM... etc.

Edmonton will continue with Ford as he gave them hope this year.

Stamps will continue with Maier as he got better in the 2nd half of the season.

IMO, the most likely spot is Ottawa where Dru would get the most money and have the easiest route to starting.

If Arbuckle got 32 chances to become a starter teams will be looking at Brown. Remember the Bombers post Kevin Glenn era? It was rough and we were desperate for many years. All those teams you mentioned Brown would instantly be the best QB on their roster

yes...and no...pretty easy when u can just pin ears back and rush a QB and for most part ignore the run....and take dumb penalties.....I don't think he should be a shoe in for either award in all honesty....Who would have more of a profound effect on his team if he was missing for any time...BO or Howdy Doody?.....BO all the way and then some

Betts will win but their run D is absolutely terrible. Rushing the quarterback is only one part of the job.

we had a viable....cut him...Mcrae is not  receiver...but likely gets on roster....and thats cause yes...no real viable replacement, and due to  bad PR...and guys on it who would make  diff....are not brought on for particular reasons on here discussed at length

McRae has shown decently in the games in which he actually gets to play receiver, and not have to worry about fielding punts. Pretty much what you would expect from someone coming off the PR anyways.

    "Let that sink in Toronto"...

WTF does that even mean? Are we supposed to be proud the Jets are drawing flies? Is TO supposed to be embarrassed that the Leafs outdraw the Argos? I is confused.

People are hurting right now with this economy. While the Jets have a stale product on the ice you can’t go to a game without paying nearly 100 dollars for a nose bleed and 10 dollars a beer. The Bombers have done great promotions to make their product affordable. I love the jets and bombers nearly equally but I go to almost every bomber game but only go to about 3-4 Jets games a year. People just don’t have the actually cash to throw around anymore and until ownership wakes up we’re unfortunately going to continue to see those kind of crowds. The Bombers are a shining example of a good product on and off the field.

Yet, we lost to a sub .300 team who had a 3rd string QB making his very FIRST start...

If we could take of that, why should anyone be iron clad in their assurance of a victory next game- regardless of whats on the line.

Understandable but look, I’ve been to seven home games this season. We’re 7-0 in those games. I’ve seen the Bombers beat the Lions by nearly 40, the Riders by 45, the ALS by 30 plus, I understand any given Sunday but I’ve seen a lot of good football as bad as posters are saying we’re playing we have the least amount of points given up in the CFL, and were averaging over 32 PPG on offense. That game against Ottawa was the perfect storm of kicking ourselves in the foot and maybe letting off the brakes when we had a lead. I’m going to give us the benefit of the doubt that we’ve learned a lot since a July football game, and that we’re going to come out focused and bring our best against Edmonton to wrap up first.
