  1. Interesting take on the weaker dollar with some Milt Stegall thoughts. http://news.nationalpost.com/2015/01/23/former-cfler-milt-stegall-feels-players-pain-as-canadian-dollar-takes-a-dive/
  2. Not a guy who can make too many of his own yards but Sheets was the best back for that o-line. They made holes and he had the speed to exploit them. You can't really argue with 1598 yards in 15 games.
  3. The Bombers rightly want to be on the front page of the sports section in the off season. Just good business.
  4. Early Christmas for me. That said Etch was a good person, just didn't like his D. I'm thinking they already have talked to whoever they want and are close to getting him. That explains the long wait anyway.
  5. Throwing a curve ball here but I can see someone offering a sweet deal to move up for Demski. Maybe we end up with two early picks in a good draft? What would a fair price be that benefits the Bombers?
  6. You ever listen to Irving on the pre-game shows? Tossing puffball questions to different members of the coaching staff was his bread and butter until this year.
  7. Joseph is an amazing athlete BUT I can't remember his last good game. It's been years.
  8. Being back and being effective are two different things.
  9. Cotton's time here reminds me of Poblah. Looks great at first but doesn't produce when the lights come on. Not convinced 100% he got the chances but Grigsby has been durable and produced enough to keep the job.
  10. I became a fan because my parents were. They took me to one game a year until I was old enough to go on my own. Also all the kids in the neighborhood were CFL fans too and we'd play pretending we were Bomber players or else I hate to say it George Reed because he really was that good. Having only 3 channels and one TV helped too I have to say. You'd watch any game that was on and knew all the players at a young age.
  11. Seriously I thought all free perks had to count against the cap. Wouldn't it be easy to provide use of a house and car to a player and not have it count otherwise?
  12. We came back after Edmonton and I expect the same here.
  13. One word: turnovers. They moved the ball but the D held them to no touchdowns. Turnovers.
  14. From CJOB post game approx 27 minutes in: Irving: Was that your read on the play? Willy: I was looking to Denny in the corner and Grigsby was in the flat, I didn't think any of them were really open. So I just wanted to give them a shot to make a play. Irving: The pass was a bit of a prayer was it? Willy: Basically, wasn't too skillful. There wasn't much there so I decided to give our guys a chance. There was no mention of Willy being aware of the Hammie penalty one way or the other,
  15. Hammie's D line had a good push, it didn't look like he had the throwing lane he may have wanted. Willy said later he threw it up because it gave our guys a chance. Either we out fight them for the ball or possibly get a PI. It was a good call.
  16. I think he believes he's honest. Makes it even more scary.
  17. Burke came here from Montreal for one reason: to have the opportunity to be a head coach. That's on record. Now he says he never wanted it. Ok, then why come back for a second year? Surely the Bombers could have found someone else with an entire off-season to work with. He's a lying sack-o-crap who takes responsibility for nothing. Even as DC he gets Creehan to do his dirty work.
  18. Generally speaking, the less you hear about OL, the better... Usually they practice so far away you can't see much. I remember when they had TC at St Johns-Ravenscourt being ten yards away from the one on ones with the DL. Geez, you could feel the ground shake. They were having a light practice once and a rook knocked off Bill Frank's sun hat. Holy crap, I thought he was gonna explode. Also you could hear what the coach (Joe Faragelli at the time) was saying.
  19. Paris Cotton stood out for me at RB. He just looks like a CFL back, small but strong and fast. They had him catching some punts too. Renaud is here to fight, great effort and good hands. The one on ones were deceiving to me. Give the receiver all day, no pressure on the QB and knowing the DB has no help and yeah they are going to win that 90% of the time. The biggest cheer came on a pick on which I thought was a terribly thrown ball so not sure why so happy. Etch seemed like a real teacher, lots of explanations and direction. I'm thinking I may have judged him too soon. Wiley I didn't recognize at first, he's put on a ton.
  20. Big difference between a work out and a practice isn't there? This would probably resemble more what they do on their own in the off-season for conditioning. I mean the D hasn't even seen a playbook... oh wait...
  21. I think Canuck QB's should be given every opportunity. I see no reason they can't catch up with a couple of years on the PR or 3rd string. I say this because I'm old enough to remember both Russ Jackson and Frank Cosentino starting at the same time for different teams. http://scratchingpost.thespec.com/2012/04/milton-former-ticats-great-cosentino-says-deck-stacked-against-canuck-qbs.html
  22. There would be a lot fewer saying yes after the first game. I would have zero interest in it.
  23. For anyone who wants to see footage of what the drainage looks like from the outside. http://globalnews.ca/video/1260615/raw-video-water-floods-suites-locker-rooms-in-igf more http://globalnews.ca/?s=bombers http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/investors-group-field-water-woes-suites-locker-room-damaged-1.2602964
  24. Sounds more like he's losing weight to me. IMHO after the operation they used him wrong. He should have been a spot player not a starter.
  25. He's not a big hitter but I think he makes up for it with smarts. I'd say sign him.
