  1. Also two rain games. They're good but not record setting good.
  2. Taman got them that cup? News to me. The big pieces were already there when he took over. It's just taken him longer to destroy that team because of it.
  3. I hope it doesn't change the way the TSN guys can express their opinion but I'm afraid it will. Right now if they think Brohm sucks they can say it, and they do.
  4. Financially they had to choose Durant or Willy. You can't pay two starter money for long.
  5. They say Marve is hurt and can't play so what were they thinking they would do when Brohm got up slowly after a hit? Poor roster management to not have 3 healthy guys, that or an outright lie about Marve.
  6. Irving is an old school guy who will continue to do things the way he always has, until he calls his last game.
  7. I've seen plenty of unremarkable practices and this was probably one of them. Do you really expect a play-by-play of practice? Add to that O'Shea gives next to no info and the assistant coaches are made to give none.
  8. If that happens, and it's not too far fetched, then I would question what Danny Mac has accomplished here.
  9. If Marve can be 50%, not turn the ball over and add some decent yards with his legs then I'd say that gives us a chance to be in most games. Brohm standing in one spot for the D to aim at and missing his targets as often as he did won't give us a chance to be in any games. We have to see Marve, it's the only way to know.
  10. Couldn't agree more. Guys hold the ball too long to make a play and take a cumulative beating for it. Makes me worried for Willy b/c he's Buck-like that way.
  11. The 5th QB is always an extra arm so the main guys can rest. The crime is telling him he had a legit shot. He was an extra arm for 3 weeks and that's all he was ever gonna be. Tell him that.
  12. The 1992 Grey Cup was the worst game I ever saw Dunigan play, 47 passing yards in over 3 quarters. I was glad McManus went in the 4th but it was already too late. McManus was 7 of 18 passing for 155 yards. It was the only time I wanted him in over Dunigan but even then you knew he was the future and it was a crime when he left. We had to use Garza the next year so you can't say he was replaced. To me they were guys from different eras even though Dunigan continued to play after he left here, he was pretty much done.
  13. One thing I've always wondered about is a major blizzard on Grey Cup day. We've had 'em here (other cities too) in mid-November never mind late. It's the CFL and I figure it will happen eventually. Since they now play the game late on Sunday (instead of Saturday afternoon like the fog bowl was) what would they do?
  14. Someone from TSN always shows up for one day of camp and Lapo makes the most sense since he is already here. Suitor used to go visit every team and I remember the whole panel here one year. The idea that he stands on the sideline begging for work seems ridiculous.
  15. They already play all July, the hottest month. Starting mid-June sounds ideal to me. Probably not well known but the CFL regular season used to start in August and still end with the Grey Cup last week of Nov. or maybe Dec 3ish. Back then they managed to squeeze in the best of 3 western final(s) into one week too. It would be crazy to do that in the modern era but shows there is precedence for change.
  16. It's not the first time it's happened. I remember Rod's field being used Ritchie's first year although I can't remember why. At least they had some wooden stands to sit in there.
  17. The average length of a game is killing baseball. When I was first watching 2 1/2 hours was normal and now they are over 3. It's still 9 innings boys. This is something the CFL has to watch out for too. A 3 hour game was once a rare thing. On the other hand the NHL has done a great job of keeping games moving.
  18. A case of denial. Sask players grow up dreaming of playing in green exponentially more than any other player from any other region. Of course they don't admit it on draft day. They say it will feel strange to line up as a Bomber but "I'll get used to it" or some such bs acknowledging they have to accept second best... for now. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/bombers-use-eleventh-pick-on-receiver-who-is-life-long-rider-fan-1.3073475 The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added Addison Richards to their line up this week, despite the fact he's been cheering for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for all of his 21 years. "I can't lie, I grew up in the heart of Rider Nation and grew up a Rider fan of course but at the end of the day, the dream's always been to play pro football," he said
  19. Except by drafting Demski Taman gives himself a shot at having both in 2 or 3 years. Taman is crazy to draft any Sask players since so many grow up with the dream of playing at home they find their way back all on their own.
  20. Taman doesn't need to draft Sask guys, they come back as soon as their first contract is done. Richards said the same things Labatte said when we signed him. Disagree with drafting anyone from that province regardless of ability. 50/50 he is here beyond his first contract.
  21. This team needs Canadian o-linemen, period. We start more Americans than anyone and we still stink. We upgrade DelMonaco with Wylie, we still stink. Just draft the BEST o-lineman b/c it makes sense for this team.
  22. "So you draft the O-lineman at No. 2... he's going to be good" Shouldn't the goal be to get the BEST o-lineman? To have the BEST o-line? We let other teams have their pick while we decide between the best of the remaining scraps? Again? They get the best and we get "good"? Does your Canadian receiving group really win Grey Cups?
  23. My opinion: A football club is a business and should conduct themselves accordingly. Fans can say what they want.
  24. I like a Saturday night Banjo Bowl too but I still say move the game to Thanksgiving weekend. I wonder if it means no fan appreciation day, no home games on Sunday at all.
  25. When Taman was here he believed in his first offer also being his best offer, presumably to "wow" the player and get him to sign before the money goes to someone else and the offer is pulled. Why do you think Heenan hasn't already seen Taman's best offer and passed?
